I'm not sure it's the principal's station to say that X department needs improving, please hire someone else, but it might be a domino in the right direction. Having said that, Ferrari haven't done much to fix their strategy problems over so many different team configurations (drivers and principals), so I guess we'll see...

      Anyway, I have no doubt that it's a poisoned chalice. Haas is the least funded team on the grid, with an owner that really doesn't care and they just got rid of a marketing wizard, no doubt there will be even less money available next year and now Gene wants to finish mid-table...good bloody luck.

    Good luck to Komatsu. But honestly the Haas car is fast because of the parts they get from Ferrari, the rest of the speed comes from aerodynamic and frame etc. If Gene refuses to provide factories that can produce those parts performance will not improve. That is also the only way to reduce cost of parts: Making the one you have to make the best way they can be done at the cheapest cost.
    Gene made a mistake and Haas will pay the price.

      Why would Honda buy Haas in the future? If they would do it, they would only do it for the license. But they should buy Aston Martin...

    • @adeparker
      @adeparker 11 месяцев назад

      Well Honda wanted to buy Red Bull to be a works team. Horner said no and that's partially why they no longer supply Red Bull with powertrains. A business like Honda isn't going to want an outspoken team principal like Gunther, but a Japanese manager makes it a far more appealing deal for them. Haas are going to be the cheaper option and don't carry the name of an actual car company

    • @djoetma
      @djoetma 11 месяцев назад

      @@adeparker The rumors about Honda wanting to buy Red Bull were always just rumors. Red Bull at the times of those rumors were still in talk with Porsche and that deal was all but finalized, so even if it was a real proposition, they couldn't even consider it.
      Honda did inform years ago about STR, but the terms were too high (Marko wanted the McLaren deal).
      Honda is still supplying RBPT and they will do this until 2026. Red Bull Power Trains was supposed to produce, manage and support the Honda engine from 2022 and onward but they weren't ready to do this, and so they asked Honda for a bridge year, and soon this would become a period that will go until 2026. So it's basically that same factory deal they had, but now they are paying Honda for the engine. RBPT for now is just a name and they do close to zero work on the PU. Marko has told that they aren't even allowed to open the crates they get in from Japan.
      Honda have worked with several blunt managers in racing. Honestly, it's kinda what most racing people are like. But also, I personally think it's a bit shortsighted to call Steiner a overly blunt person. From what I've heard, he is really polite and open. Yes, he swears and he will tell you his truth, but so will others. I think the likes of Marko are far worse.
      And Honda can always bring someone in who is more to their liking. The fact that Komatsu is teamboss at Haas doesn't matter. If they wanted him, they could just get him. But since he's not a Honda guy, they'd probably put in someone from their own organization, like Masashi Yamamoto.
      Btw, I do hope we'll see a Honda F1 team. The rout they took with Aston Martin, I don't understand. It has the same problem as Red Bull had, which is that close to zero of the credit will go to Honda and their brand won't really profit from it. A lot of people, even F1 fans, think that really is the Aston Martin F1 team and that it;s a singe organization under Stroll, while in fact there is no shared infrastructure and the team is a private team sponsored by Aston Martin.

    the problem with haas is the power unit, it has too much ignition timing, only good for one lap, but power decreases when following a car due to hot intake air

    I wonder how much Gene will let him do, Guenther had an interview recently in sky too which very calmly, nicely he explains some of the issues on Haas performance. I feel bad for Guenther honestly, but that shouldn't translate into fans hating this poor guy that just arrived to the post.

    This guy seems mellow and nice but I just don't see how getting rid of the top 2 guys and then moving the rest of the managers up a rung is going to change anything (other than if they get lucky they can take credit). The Haas chief designer is now the technical director, the technical director is now the team principal. Maybe the person who gets promoted into the chief designer slot is a genius but with such a small team and so few updates through the season I don't see them getting back to 5th anytime soon. Good luck.

    How come within 3 mins.... I already like this new Ayao, very refreshing, honest, and transparent and respectful to Guenther and his past achievements....
    Japanese people always give this "likeable vibe"

    Seems like a nice guy, as much as we all loved Guenther Haas probably did need a new direction.

    Ayao did a phenomenal job wading through those awful questions... Sky Sports F1 just looking for the click-bait, smh.
