I had one of the funniest experiences playing this game: Here I am at the final battle, everyone's down except for me and my huddle is ready. I revive everyone, give the most awesome epic speech ever. As soon as it's over, just before I play the cassette tape, I wonder what awesome theme will go with my teams amazing ass kic- *It was Bobby McFerrin's: Don't worry Be Happy* I have never laughed my ass off harder from being so wrong
I had a really fitting moment when taking down Raker, after the huddle was successful the tape played 'holding out for a hero' which I thought was just awesome. And when up against Magus I got 'Tainted love' which was still pretty cool
This is the one thing I really don't like about this game that I otherwise really love. Huddle up song is a complete crapshoot, no way to know if you're gonna get an epic song or something that really doesn't fit.
It's still kind of shocking to me people saying this game is good. Since this game was announced I just assumed it was gonna be some crappy filler game that will sell well just because it's Marvel. It's kind of nice hearing that the developers took the time and effort to make an actual good game and do the source material right in their own way and not just copy the MCU baseline. I'll have to pick this one up! The huddle up thing looks like a lot of fun as well haha
It's good, the gameplay is decent but the writing is what delivers. To me they did the GOTG alot of justice and in some cases more than the films did. It also traversed the fine line that upon first play you'd assume it's related to the films but after certain dialogues it's more inspires by the comics.

My favorite thing about this game is how it handles choices. There are plenty of big moments where you make a decision with clear implications, but there are also many others that seem small but turn out to be significant, others still that don't appear to be decisions at all, and some that seem like huge decisions that end up just being used as a fun little joke later. You can completely miss the conversation between Star-Lord and Drax on Knowhere. You get a brand new environmental puzzle if you fail to convince Cosmo to reject the Promise. You hear Mantis and the others comment on whether you helped close the fridge door throughout the story. You can give in to your own Promise and experience it for several minutes before the game ends. You can totally bomb Lipless' duet and then kill him a short time later during exploration. You can pay the fine to Nova Corps and actually get to fly off into space successfully at the end. You can MISS catching your tape player on the final mission, fumble around picking it up, and get a fun comment from Rocket. There is just so much here that keeps you constantly engaged and allows your experience to be unique. It's incredibly entertaining to see how altering your decisions, intentionally failing quicktime events or conversations, and even simply keeping your mouth shut when you have a chance to speak up changes the way scenes and the story play out, and it gives you a clear idea of how much passion went into this game. You're absolutely right that you can tell the developers, writers, actors, and everyone else who had a hand in this clearly had a blast making this game.
story worth sharing: played this game on release, it crashed on first start-up so booted it up again and... the game rick rolled me when the title screen showed up.
When I saw Never Gonna Give You Up was on the playlist of the Milano, I thought for sure there would be a trophy involved in Rick Rolling the crew. I was very disappointed
having played Final Fantasy XV before this, the whole mechanic of controlling other members of the party that these 2 games share DEFINITELY got better after they kinda tried it for the first time in FF. And tbh that mechanic is the main reason I played both of these games. FF kinda took a more cinematic approach, cutting the camera over to the member performing their attack, and then allowing you to perform a follow up immediately after. but Guardians allows each member of the team mix and match their abilities in a way that makes them able to be chained together in an effective way.
agreed. as a huge fan of VII Remake and XV i definitely felt at home with the combat in this game. the blasters dealing dps while you held R2 also felt like it fit right in with the auto-attacking style of XV, where you've got to hold R2 to stay on the offensive.
I just came out of this game extremely excited for a sequel. So much about it worked for me and the things that didn’t work can easily be improved upon in the second installment.
This was my game of the year last year. While I enjoyed RE this was a game that had me smiling ear to ear the whole game. That scene with Peter saying that was so metal was me the entire game and like RE I would honestly pay for Story dlc for this game because I just want to be with these characters more. God I hope there is a sequel
Guardians of the galaxy has heart and passion behind it while avengers is just corporate greed that's incredibly out of touch and disrespectful to the property that it's tied to.
I literally just think about you & you just uploaded a video what a coincidence but it's night i watched like some minutes gonna watch the other part of the video on morning but it's gonna be good for sure & your so close to 100k so if you hit that then congratulations in advance then i can finally say 'look is that boy aqua who hit 100k subs'. Edit - just realised you already hit 100k so congratulations Aqua very proud to be a part of this journey all the best for the future.
This game was my 2021 GOTY. It was the type of game I've been looking for. Its story was amazing it even made me tear up in some places and I can't think of any other game that has done that. Really its the only one released from the year that I was impressed with. The fact it came with no bullshit attached made it even better. Thinking back I bought the deluxe edition at a Best Buy out of spite to my Walmart not having either version the day it released. It was something I don't regret and I was very happy to do so and help support this game. (The fact I gave my money to someplace else other than Walmart is always a nice bonus. But that's just me.)
I got this game for Christmas and I absolutely adore it. It’s easily GOTY (nothing really came out this year) it has a amazing story, a telltale like choice system that actually works, DMC/ God of war like gameplay, and this is the first game in my entire life that is actually funny. Comedy is to absent from single player games. We usually only get a quip or 2 in your average game. I’m not a completionist however I did platinum this game. Which only makes it my 3rd platinum joining both Spider-Man ps4 game. When handled right the marvel license can an infinite supply of content for game developers. As long as it is treated with care unlike the avengers Also beating Adam warlock with never gonna give you up playing is the highlight of gaming as a whole
God of War like gameplay? I hope u were joking the gameplay was the worse part its a decent game overall but gameplay was lacking imo it was nothing but the same melee combos or shooting guns that seem like paint ball guns with no fire power shooting enemies felt like u are shooting cookies at them but I think the story was decent and the 1080p resolution for performance mode was a joke for next gen smh no way you think this is game of the year im guessing u don't have a PS5 because its much better games than this game
Your rant on microtransactions and open worlds at the end of the video really resonated with me ngl. I'm completely sick of all those types of games and I'm so happy Guardians turned out to be just as great as Spider-Man and Miles Morales
I would say Mantis is more distracted than dumb. Being able to past, present, and future in so many realities at once would no doubt be difficult for anyone to keep track of.
Ya i loved this game and i am so glad i gave it a chance. I remember seeing the announcement trailer. It was like "you are star lord" and i was like "no I'm not, I'm not playing this game" and now i am in love with it. I adore the character work and the way we feel like family in the end just laughing and enjoying eachothers company. The way the guardians will just do the things you used to tell them to do. Such a great game
I finished the game today and I loved it! I really want a sequel now, there's so much they can do like how about a boss fight with the Shi'ar imperial guard? Or how about having Mantis and Nikki on the team? And there's all the other characters they teased/referenced in this game like Nova, Moon Dragon, Jack Flag, Quasar and Yondu, another group that could appear are The Starjammers who are very similar to The Guardians in that they are led by a human (Chris Summers/Corsair AKA Cyclop's dad), they came together after escaping from a space prison, they also have Ch'od and his friend Cr'eee, who are basically the reverse of Rocket and Groot in that Ch'od is a huge reptile alien, who is the only one that understands Cr'eee, a little furry alien creature
I'm not use to "The Grand UNI-FLARKER" having both arms, but I appreate what they did so much more now that I notice the small details because of your video. The game just feels addicting😊
100% agree, this game is fantastic, and really made me appreciate the guardians themselves a lot more than I did from the MCU so far. Especially Drax, they made me think of him as way more than just a comic relief character. Also god I really want this version of Mantis in the MCU.
I didn't even know the llama mini game for the Drax Promise chapter existed because the way I played the llama already chewed through my wall so I fell to Groot's little garden thing
There are videos of the voice cast in mocap suits shooting the various scenes. Even a doggie in a mocap suit for Cosmo. It really looked like a fun project to be on and kudos to Eidos Montréal!
I kinda of agreed to what you said about Rocket's fear of water, but if you get the collectables you can learn way more about him and the other guardians. For example I got this collectable for Groot and we had conversation with Mantis translating what Groot was saying and I learnt that Groot was a Prince just like Peter which was really cool.
I’m not gonna lie when I heard you only play as 1 character and no co-op I was a bit disappointed. But it looks interesting and one day I’ll pick it up on sale or on a game pass or something
Kudos to the devs for keeping their ambitions in check. If they aimed too high and tried to make all the characters playable, this game might have come out half baked. Just look at Cyberpunk, too much ambition can be more than someone can chew... Always aim for what you can achieve within your timeline and resources.
Square Enix:- Hello is this Ubisoft? Ubisoft: Whats up. Square Enix:- can we Copy Kassandra's Facial Model. Ubisoft: Sure but change it a bit. Square Enix:- Of course. The Result: 24:12
25:19 it was also a shame the game didn't get a sequel because it was seemingly setting up something interesting just from the passive dialogue, Drax is credited with killing Thanos but doesn't believe he's gone. Is he alive? What does he have planning that would just have him be absent from the galaxy for years? It sets up Peter and his dad, Rocket and half world, Gamora seemingly previous confronting and killing Nebula, Yondu and the ravagers, so many cool things they referenced and could have explored in another game, all while feeling very natural and not feeling specifically shoved into the game to act as a sequel bait.
Guardians of the Galaxy was last years biggest surprise.. Didn't expect much of it when it was announced. Boy was I wrong. Easily in my top 3 last year
I had a persistent issue with this game on PC where my GPU usage would tank to 0% every so often, and that couldn't even spoil my overwhelming enjoyment of the game
Hating on the MCU is not popular. Hating on the bad decisions and terrible MCU product post Endgame is popular and very much warranted. This is one of the most pleasant surprise gaming experiences I’ve ever had. What a great game and you showed stuff I didn’t even see like using singing to get the llama to free you. The combat is really repetitive and I found myself getting slightly bored with it but the story and characters are just so good that it trumps any other nitpick you might have.
On console I did frequently encounter a glitch where entering the visor mode right before or during combat would make the audio sound deep fried until the end of the encounter
I hope we get a sequel, now that Eidos is free from Square I wonder if it's still possible but I love what they set up here. The expanded team with Warlock, Mantis and Nikki. Then they also referenced Moondragon I wanna see them bridge that connection that SHE is Drax's daughter. Then of course The Collector, maybe explore Kree next time.
The ult combo Ive found to deal with those most bosses; Groots bigger target grapple->Rockets Stun Grendades-> Gamoras Ult-> Drax's Stun attack. All the while Im using the turret blasters to build even more stun. Big brained
I expected the game to be OK at best because of what had happened with avengers, it is now one of my favourite games in recent years for so many reasons
Previous example from Square of details that show they had fun making a game: the fun mechanical detail of vehicles in just cause 3. The fighter jets have fully modeled intake ducts when they gib and the cars and manufacturers of vehicles/weapons all have really fun names made to sound like real companies.
Damn brother i remember when you were always streaming and playing borderlands 2 shit we always knew you were going to end up getting big and you’re well on your way keep up the great work man
I just finished this game tonight and totally loved it. It had a ton of hilarious dialogue and some surprisingly touching scenes in it as well. And outside of that it's all brought together by some amazing voice acting and facial animation. Everything about the game is top is notch pretty much.
SPOILERS! I kinda wish that Nikki was Peter’s daughter. I get that it doesn’t really fit, but I think it would’ve been a fun twist on his character, seeing him forced to deal with responsibility.
YOURE TELLING ME THERE WAS A GAMEPLAY SEGMENT WITH THE LLAMA. I don’t know exactly how I did but I guess I skipped as the Llama had simply chewed a hole through my room by the time Drax traps us.
This game is amazing. I actually feel bad that I got it 50% off on Amazon. If you chose to hide the llama it will chew a hole in Peter's room and that is how you will get out instead of singing. Also at the beginning where Rocket makes fun of you for going down a dead end, before that he was asking Peter a question but stop because I wasn't behind him. And he asked where Peter went and if he got lost lol. So I wonder if he would continue to ask the question if I was behind him.
Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy was my 2021 game of the year. Great game, great experience. From the characters, gameplay, music, story, graphics, everything. It was all wonderful. I can't express enough how passion filled this game is, you can tell that a lot of care was put into this, it's practically bleeding through. Amazing game, fun times, I want a sequel.
The small flaws are incredibly overwhelmed by all the heart, care and quality of gameplay that went in to this game. Played through 3 times and my 8yr old is on his 2nd. So much fun! Love it! GOTG 2 please!!!
Amazing game. Didn’t expect it at all!! Acting, worlds, combat… outside bugs (which you WILL experience every session) BLEW. MY. MIND. I want more lol! (And I’m not even an MCU movie fan).
I've never played a game like this Guardians of the Galaxy game where you play as one character but give command to other characters in a narrative where you are the leader I know final fantasy 7 remake and mass effect has something like that but I haven't played those yet so I can't comment on it but I really enjoyed this game the writing, the visuals all fantastic I cared about them so much more the Guardians characters in the comics or the movies because I got to spend more time with eidos Montreal's version of the Guardians in more detail and emotional depth than the movie versions I genuinely appreciate and love these versions of the guardians characters so much it made me want a second game it also made me want more of this type of game like a ninja turtles game where you either play as splinter or Leonardo and you give commands to the other turtles or a fantastic four game where you play as Mr fantastic and command the other four or a X-Men game where you play as either Charles Xavier or cyclops and command the other mutant members of the X-Men
Wow i did not know you can follow gamora and ruin her taking the arm. That is some great details I guess I gotta replay this game sooner than I thought
I keep on hearing this Game is made to be Square Enix's *APOLOGHY* for Avenger's when it's not, both games were produced at around exactly the same time. I just think that when both games were in their Pre-Production stages Square Enix decided that for one AAA Marvel game to be completely singleplayer driven experience the other would have to be "a heavily & aggressively monetized live service" to keep Corporate investors from pulling the plug on having a single gaming studio to make multiple AAA Marvel Superhero games at once since these days the mere act of sinking soo much of the Corporate Investor's own money into creating multiple AAA Budget Singleplayer games at once *WITHOUT ANY STRINGS ATTACHED & OR DOESN'T COME WITH A CATCH* would absolutely scare away most Corporate Investors from even attempting it & Marvel's Avengers ended up loosing the coin toss.. 😒
Shessh now I need to replay this game. I absolutely loved this, one of those games where you have a blast from start to end, no grey spots, I loved every minute. Really sad it´s another of those games that while there is infinite room for sequel, it probably won´t get one. Don´t get me wrong, the fact Eidos is now working on new Deus Ex is filling me with sheer joy. But I´d love to have GoTG 2 as well.
One of my favourite scenes came at the very end with the Milano cut power and nikki asked Peter if he paid the fine which I failed to do because I lost the money gambling on Knowhere's cheating vendors

I can see a X-men game in the same vein as guardian of the gaxaly. Wolverine as a attacker, colossus as a tank, Storm as an arena attacker.
As long as it is treated with care unlike the avengers
Also beating Adam warlock with never gonna give you up playing is the highlight of gaming as a whole
Guardians of the Yalaxy
Miles Morales is the weakest of the three ngl, the story felt like a cheap ripoff of Spider-Man's story
I would say Mantis is more distracted than dumb. Being able to past, present, and future in so many realities at once would no doubt be difficult for anyone to keep track of.
W video! Literally was thinking about buying this and thought "I wish aqua would make a video on guardians". Love everything u have to say
I am honestly really shocked by how many different events we experienced while playing this game just by the decesions we decided to make
Keep up the awesome work
Thank you! Did I pronounce your name correctly at the end?
@@ThatBoyAqua as close as your could without speaking German xD
Your videos deserve so many more views. You’ve convinced me to get this game
Thank you and I hope you have fun with it!
I finished the game today and I loved it! I really want a sequel now, there's so much they can do like how about a boss fight with the Shi'ar imperial guard? Or how about having Mantis and Nikki on the team? And there's all the other characters they teased/referenced in this game like Nova, Moon Dragon, Jack Flag, Quasar and Yondu, another group that could appear are The Starjammers who are very similar to The Guardians in that they are led by a human (Chris Summers/Corsair AKA Cyclop's dad), they came together after escaping from a space prison, they also have Ch'od and his friend Cr'eee, who are basically the reverse of Rocket and Groot in that Ch'od is a huge reptile alien, who is the only one that understands Cr'eee, a little furry alien creature
the graying of the MCU style characters/world was an amazing editing choice lmao
I'm not use to "The Grand UNI-FLARKER" having both arms, but I appreate what they did so much more now that I notice the small details because of your video. The game just feels addicting😊
This game was AMAZING
The soundtrack, the gameplay, the characters
100% agree, this game is fantastic, and really made me appreciate the guardians themselves a lot more than I did from the MCU so far. Especially Drax, they made me think of him as way more than just a comic relief character. Also god I really want this version of Mantis in the MCU.
I think it'd be cool in the sequel you can customize the abilities each guardian has
I really need to set aside time for your channel, bud. Youre doing very likeable, listenable content and they seem sincere. Godspeed!
19:42 I never knew this was here because I succeeded but it is really cool how they made this whole other part of the game for if you didn't succeed.
I didn't even know the llama mini game for the Drax Promise chapter existed because the way I played the llama already chewed through my wall so I fell to Groot's little garden thing
Also, the Credits amount you have to pay can be 7,000 if you hide the llama and I think throw Rocket's stuff out
There are videos of the voice cast in mocap suits shooting the various scenes. Even a doggie in a mocap suit for Cosmo. It really looked like a fun project to be on and kudos to Eidos Montréal!
It's just so amazing how your videos keep getting better and better
Loved this game. Only wish for a sequel is for every character to be playable like ff7
Congrats for 100k!
Just realized you’ve hit 100k. Congrats aqua !
Thank you 🙏
i think the reason why the dialogue in this game is so good is because the synergy of the crew is so well
This game was such a breath of fresh air, and it was one of my favorite games of 2021.
It's always a joy seeing the quality of your videos improve!
I’m not gonna lie when I heard you only play as 1 character and no co-op I was a bit disappointed. But it looks interesting and one day I’ll pick it up on sale or on a game pass or something
It’s 30 dollars rn on ps it’s worth it a solid fun game
Hey finally aqua having an opinion as everyone (talking about avengers). I lovedddddd the video man. Congrats on 100k homie
Kudos to the devs for keeping their ambitions in check. If they aimed too high and tried to make all the characters playable, this game might have come out half baked. Just look at Cyberpunk, too much ambition can be more than someone can chew... Always aim for what you can achieve within your timeline and resources.
This is one of my favourite video from you
I just finished the game and couldn't agree with you more. I'm so surprised this wasn't considered more for goty! Great video and congrats on 100k 🎉
Square Enix:- Hello is this Ubisoft?
Ubisoft: Whats up.
Square Enix:- can we Copy Kassandra's Facial Model.
Ubisoft: Sure but change it a bit.
Square Enix:- Of course.
The Result: 24:12
Do you seriously not know what a face model is
@@IRONMan-pk6du what do you mean
Avengers should’ve been like GOTG, Nuff Said.
It should be like star wars battlefront 2.
Congrats on 100K man! This was a banger video, well structured and paced.
Raker was a tough fight especially when he makes it impossible to see when the screen becomes complete darkness
"It was so rare to hear repeated lines"
I heard Drax say "These demented souls do not know when to quit" like 30 times in one playthrough
Love your videos man, keep it up, i’m sure you’ll make it to millions of suscribers, you sure as hell deserve them c:
Beautiful speech at the end man
Congrats on a this kick ass video
I’m definitely buying this game
Awesome video bro love your content
keep it up ✊🥰✊
Thank you 🙏 ❤️
19:30 I never played that mini game?!? What the hell that sounds like a ton of fun :/
Neither did I hahaha another reason to play again
Great editing
wow binged aqua all day, got home, and now there’s more
Guardians of the Galaxy was last years biggest surprise..
That one scene near the end of the game (if you know, you know) made me cry. I have never cried from a video game before.
Literally just finished 5 minutes ago. Loved the game, and very much hope they make a sequel.
This game really surprised me I just went back and platinumed it
The ult combo Ive found to deal with those most bosses; Groots bigger target grapple->Rockets Stun Grendades-> Gamoras Ult-> Drax's Stun attack.
When I played I got out of my room by going through a hole in my wall that the llama made. I never knew it was another way to get out
I have played guardians twice and I’m thinking of playing it a 3rd time and 100% it that’s how good it is
Damn brother i remember when you were always streaming and playing borderlands 2 shit we always knew you were going to end up getting big and you’re well on your way keep up the great work man
God i hope this gets a sequel. And an easy way for them to out do themselves in the next game is let you play as other members of the team
Congrats on 100k 🥳
I just finished this game tonight and totally loved it.
It had a ton of hilarious dialogue and some surprisingly touching scenes in it as well. And outside of that it's all brought together by some amazing voice acting and facial animation. Everything about the game is top is notch pretty much.
This is amazing brah, just finished this game and it was everything I wanted
every time i was pressing R the fight felt so much more epic, i think it was a really good addition for player experience
The gameplay reminds me of Tales of Arise with Boost Strikes. Hope Square Enix does Marvel justice like Insomniac.
Great vid my man!
Near the end of the game during a hard fight I did a huddle and had a very satisfying fight to we’re not gonna take it
The small flaws are incredibly overwhelmed by all the heart, care and quality of gameplay that went in to this game. Played through 3 times and my 8yr old is on his 2nd. So much fun! Love it! GOTG 2 please!!!
I'm glad that games are adding dmca free music in games or a setting to turn it off
Amazing game. Didn’t expect it at all!!
Acting, worlds, combat… outside bugs (which you WILL experience every session) BLEW. MY. MIND.
I want more lol! (And I’m not even an MCU movie fan).
19:22 WHAT- I didnt get that. I got out of the room because the space Llama chewed a hole in the wall lol
I think it's because you hid the llama at the beginning of the game, instead of the tech.
Just been watching your amazing arkham essay simply brilliant! I will watch this when I've finished guardians. Keep up the amazing work
I've never played a game like this Guardians of the Galaxy game where you play as one character but give command to other characters in a narrative where you are the leader I know final fantasy 7 remake and mass effect has something like that but I haven't played those yet so I can't comment on it but I really enjoyed this game the writing, the visuals all fantastic I cared about them so much more the Guardians characters in the comics or the movies because I got to spend more time with eidos Montreal's version of the Guardians in more detail and emotional depth than the movie versions I genuinely appreciate and love these versions of the guardians characters so much it made me want a second game it also made me want more of this type of game like a ninja turtles game where you either play as splinter or Leonardo and you give commands to the other turtles or a fantastic four game where you play as Mr fantastic and command the other four or a X-Men game where you play as either Charles Xavier or cyclops and command the other mutant members of the X-Men
Wow i did not know you can follow gamora and ruin her taking the arm.
19:15 - WHATTTT!!! I NEVER DID THAT!!!! I LOVE THIS GAME
Holy shit, you keep going with all these different choices that actually effect gameplay and showcase different scenarios and it’s blowing my mind
One of my favourite scenes came at the very end with the Milano cut power and nikki asked Peter if he paid the fine which I failed to do because I lost the money gambling on Knowhere's cheating vendors
Congrats on 100k! Been here since 30k haha
This is my favourite game of 2021 hopefully we get guardians 2
