This! The conversations and banters between the characters are truly what made this game special for me, and actually saved me from a somewhat developing video game fatigue, I found the true joy of video games in this game.
These guardians of the galaxy are much better than the movie versions, and the movie versions were good too. When I think of gotg, these versions will come to mind now instead of the movie versions.
@@MrBarborosa Yeah, I might be in the minority since not a bunch of people know or have played this game. But I do think these guardians of the galaxy have more depth to them, mainly because we get to spend time with them for many many hours and get to know them more. But for the movies, everything is crammed into 2 hrs, which means it’s harder to develop and build these characters within that time frame. But the movies still did a great job at building these characters even if they’re not 15-20 hrs like the game.
"Who do I serve? What am I supposed to say, Jesus!?" Idk man that line was hilarious and awewome. Whenever I think GotG I think of that line. It captures them so well.
Cool facts about Peter shooting Meredith. You actually don’t have to shoot her at all. You could actually just continue to hug her and accept your illusion. Which will lead you to a whole other mini level
SPOILER ALERT! I also loved how the Rocket and Quill mini game at the beginning led to your character shooting one that let loose the main baddy in the game. I was looking for those things so hard and just shooting as soon as I saw one! Soon as it happened I was like ‘Dammit game, you got me’
Some of the dialogue choices and later lines in the game must depend on who shot it, since later on I had speech options to blame Rocket for this entire mess. So I must’ve never shot and released Magus during the mini game. Really cool attention to detail.
For me this was the BEST Game I played after RDR 2 in 2018 .. The characters, the dialogues, the graphics, the story, the acting are all top notch and I am so glad a Single Player no BS game did so well !

This was easily the most fun I had with a game this year. I really wasn't expecting to enjoy it so much. I'm genuinely looking forward to the next one.
I'm currently playing this game as well as streaming it and within the first 5 to 10 minutes of the game I knew this was my game of the year. I haven't had this much genuine joy and fun playing a game, and immersing myself with characters I love in a video game in an incredibly long time! It definitely has some random rough spots and not everything is as finely detailed and created with loving care like the Milano, but each character feels real and true to their comic book origins, and I haven't laughed this much in a video game maybe ever! I'm in love with everything from the aesthetic to the writing of random NPCs you only ever see once and briefly.
I dont know exactly what it is, but comparing the movie version of Star lord to the game is just night and day. Movie Starlord is just a lucky jerk, then you have the empathetic goofy and cool game Starlord. The story was super mature by Marvel standards.
Honestly kinda prefer gunns star lord for that reason. Him being more of a jerk made him seem more real to me. I think it’s more clear in the bickering between Peter and rocket. Felt like their personalities were similar enough to cause major conflict in the movies whereas the game kinda made it seem like rocket was the bigger jerk
One thing I really liked about the game was the “choose your own path” aspect of it. Trying to convince someone to do something or picking one thing over the other just felt so interesting and different from other games in this genre I’ve played.
It was such a fun game to play and the dialogue was as perfect made me like the guardians of the galaxy way more too And it’s clear that these guys have fans of the comics and have watched the movies very well and blended it all into a good source for the story I’m just glad they didn’t really just use the stuff from the movies only
Just finished it last night and these guardians felt more "complete" then their movie counterparts. Adam Warlock was the real Adam Warlock, not the weird kid version from the movies. The impact here story wise kicked in from start. No conversation was a throw away, all interactions brought you deeper into the world. I personally loved that they brought in the music aspect from the movies. A treat visually and musically. There was "heart" here.
As a single player enthusiast, this is a one of the best! As I progressed the game, I was being constantly worried about the game ending soon. Not that many games offer that these days.

Please tell me im not the only one who stayed in the bed listening to the entire star lord album before starting the game just to reminice of sitting on my bed with a walkman so many years ago
I just can't see a reason why Red Dead Redemption 2 can be such a huge and immersive open world game with so many things but they can't make a good Avengers open world video game. There is just no excuse

I got it for Christmas too. That year I got Far Cry 6, Deathloop, Yakuza:Like A Dragon and a Pulse 3D Headset. When I put the GOTG disc in the ps5 and I started playing, I played it from start to finish without taking a break. For a while I wasn’t really enjoying games that much, but guardians was such an enjoyable experience.
Definitely agree w this video, just beat it today. Although I felt a little tired of battling around the 3rd quarter of the game and experienced two or three glitches that made me reload my checkpoint - it was a fantastic experience carried by its characters and environments (during the parts where it isn’t metal hallways) . Is it one tier below games with a similar format like God of War 4 or FF7 Remake? Yeah. But damn, it is more than worth the play through.
This game has no business being this good, especially after they shat the bed with avengers. Definitely up at the top with Spider-Man for super hero games.
Was indifferent to the Guardians of the galaxy but liked the movie played the game love the Guardians of the galaxy especially Drax and his child like joy at getting to fight Fin Fan Foom.
i just played this for the first time and wow what a game. I was expecting a silly superhero beat-em-up to uninstall soon as I'm finished. What I got was a close to home story about trauma, guilt, and grief. You know a game is good when it sticks on your mind for a little while after you beat it.
It's a shame they didn't really market this game. It looks decent but I've already spent all I'm willing to on games for the end of this year. It would have come into my consideration if I actually knew about it
I met some really annoying glitches during my playthrough on ps5, some which blocked me from getting 100 percent, but the game was good. A solid 8/10 for me. I also found rocket to be extremely annoying at times, where I kind of wanted him to die, and I'll live happily if I never hear flark again. Other then that, I'd love a sequel.
Oh I wanted to personally kill Rocket so many times in this game. The fact that he jokes about your daughter (I know she isn't really but they don't know that at the time) and ex girlfriend being dead to your face just really pissed me off. I don't care how "damaged" he is or that he has a dark sense of humor. There are just some lines you don't cross and Rocket crossed those lines multiple times. And he never really apologizes for it.
I just finished guardians today after paying no attention to any reviews or story's and tbh I dunno if it blew my hair back coz it is such a good game or if its just coz these days my expectations are so low and I went into it expecting it to be terrible but either way I really enjoyed it actually thought the story was better than the movie
Just downloaded it from game pass. I love it. It’s refreshing and endearing. I don’t get stressed out when I mess up repeatedly I just think of how many different ways I can execute my gameplay. The hints through the bantering makes me laugh and is appreciated. Only problem I have is after spending a few hours I have been getting glitchy, which is annoying when your timing is essential. That could just be my connection or console. A great game none the less.
I absolutely loved this game! The only problem though is when I got to chapter 12 and it crashed and corrupted my save file so I had to start again. I was ok with that though, because it’s so much fun to play.
Mary Demarle and the entire writing did an amazing job on this game I love these versions of the Guardians characters way more than the mcu version of the Guardians characters
Indeed it was a great game, and I hope the publishers take a long hard look at that Avengers game, and then this one, and think about what they should focus on. One minor thing that bothered me: you can collect some items that you can discuss with your crewmates on the ship. And the face animations during those conversations are.... like ME Andromeda level. Really stood out next to all the well made animations during other conversations. Seems like these were put in the game very late.
Idk why cause I’ve already beat it but for some reason I just keep thinking about this game I’m so happy I gave this game a chance I walked away with a experience in gaming I will never forget
Hands down my GOTY for 2021. The game was way better than most expected and even myself. The writing and story is magnificent. The amount of detail is insane and it looks beautiful.

I guess the Matrix Unreal Engine 5 demo is something, but its just a demo. And DBZ has games, but literally none of them are good imo, and certainly none of them are action adventure RPGs with player choice and top-tier narrative and story.
One of the best and genuinely fun games I've played in a while. Great story, characters, dialogues and gameplay! The only problem I have with this game is that there are too many "normal" enemies, you know those goons are gonna irritate you every time you enter a new area. Its too much sometimes, other than that, Awesome game!
I fear for this studio's fate, square enix caused the bad sales by destroying any trust with the avengers game, I hope they don't get axed. I got GOTG day one and it was a great ride.
Guardians of the Galaxy! Incredible game, the story, gameplay, entire experience was so much fun, a feel good game, my personal 2021 game of the year, loved it! 🙌😊
This is what Gamers want a great told story Never ending action No micro transactions,Thank you SquareEnix For Delivering With this game 10/10 for me 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥👏🙏🏻💯
Hopefully getting this game for Christmas, so I’ll come back to the vid after I’ve played it to avoid spoilers. This game is so weird to me, I had literally zero excitement for it when it was announced even right up until release, but then the reviews came in the public got their hands on it, and everyone seemed to love it! Safe to say I’m pretty damn excited for it now
I bought this game purely because it was on sale but I wasn't really expecting thaaat much after the poor reviews of Avengers. This iteration of the Guardians surpasses those in the movies imo, sure we have the benefit of like 5x as much time with them but still, the writing shocked me in how deep it was while maintaining a sense of humor. The game mechanics themselves were a little lackluster for me but the story was top tier, would love to see/play more of these Guardians
I'm playing it and I'm convinced it only flopped because it was released soon after that steamy pile that was Marvel's Avengers. It didn't deserve the flop.
This didn't shock me, the moment I saw that demo I was certain this game was going to be something special, genuinely didn't understand the lack of hype behind this game
Gameplay looks generic. Its strengths arent really highlighted in reviews and trailers. Even people saying its good seem to have a hard time explaining why. Just one of those games you have to experience. Witcher 3 is similar, word of mouth spread leading more people to play and love it over time.
I love how Twitter was throwing a bitch fit when GOTG won best narrative and says it normalizes the corporatization of superheroes like the MCU. I’m like “Bitch, where were you when the Batman Arkham games and Spider-Man were out?”
Super hero games are not hard to pull off. They just fail when in the wrong hands. Most AAA developers can make a good superhero games with the right direction. They fail like so many other games because of financial incentives to cut cost or seek opti.al profit over a visio. That fits the character which is obvious to most fans imo.
I'm not finished the game yet but it seemed to have some similarities to a particular storyline from the comics, then it mentioned Him and I thought that they wouldn't use that storyline for a Guardians game....they fucking did and I am so hyped to finish it! (Spoils Below) They straight up did the Church controlled by Magus, Adam Warlock's evil self. He is my fav cosmic hero and I still almost can't believe that he's in the game let alone a big part of it.
I really hope that they do a sequel in future with all playable characters and maybe include some in depth space and planets exploration and stuff but yeah we'll see.
Guardians of the Galaxy has become my favorite superhero team. And it’s all thanks to this game. What I find so funny is the parallelism that the “Gardeners of the Galaxy” 😂are actually a bunch of losers that nobody takes seriously, they come out of nowhere and save the Galaxy. Just as how this game came out of nowhere, kicked The Avengers game in the balls and has become one of the best superhero games!! The true underdog story in every possible way 🤘

Guardians of the Galaxy! Incredible game, the story, gameplay, entire experience was so much fun, a feel good game, my personal 2021 game of the year, loved it! 🙌😊
Luke Stephens with another banger
This is what Gamers want a great told story Never ending action No micro transactions,Thank you SquareEnix For Delivering With this game 10/10 for me 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥👏🙏🏻💯
Hopefully getting this game for Christmas, so I’ll come back to the vid after I’ve played it to avoid spoilers. This game is so weird to me, I had literally zero excitement for it when it was announced even right up until release, but then the reviews came in the public got their hands on it, and everyone seemed to love it! Safe to say I’m pretty damn excited for it now
Finished the game today. It's absolutely fantastic, I had no idea the Guardians of the Galaxy could be way cooler than the Avengers.
I thought they were cooler and more interesting ever since the first movie
Love the new logo!
Yup I played both games based on recommendation not based on watching the gameplay and I loved them both.
I have no interest in super hero movies at all but this looks very cool. Sort of a surprise hit in the vein of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order
Very much. Well worth the play. Especially if you catch a sale.
Didn’t even know this was you cause of the new pfp☠️
I love how Twitter was throwing a bitch fit when GOTG won best narrative and says it normalizes the corporatization of superheroes like the MCU. I’m like “Bitch, where were you when the Batman Arkham games and Spider-Man were out?”
Super hero games are not hard to pull off. They just fail when in the wrong hands. Most AAA developers can make a good superhero games with the right direction. They fail like so many other games because of financial incentives to cut cost or seek opti.al profit over a visio. That fits the character which is obvious to most fans imo.
Just finished it.
A masterpiece in my opinion ❤
Okay, so I saw this video pop up on my feed. Watched some of it, paused, bought and played the game, 35 bucks well spent.
This game was simply awesome in every aspect.
I wonder what's the next marvel game that square enix will make cause I don't think they'll only stop at 2 games but yeah we'll see.
I'm not finished the game yet but it seemed to have some similarities to a particular storyline from the comics, then it mentioned Him and I thought that they wouldn't use that storyline for a Guardians game....they fucking did and I am so hyped to finish it! (Spoils Below)
They straight up did the Church controlled by Magus, Adam Warlock's evil self. He is my fav cosmic hero and I still almost can't believe that he's in the game let alone a big part of it.
Its now on sale for $15, i just picked it up and am surprised how much I am enjoying it so far
Same, im sad i didnt bought this game sooner, all because of the avengers game.
GOTY. This game shocked us too.
I'll never forgive them for what they did to the Avengers game. Absolute heresy...
Whelp you convinced me. When I’m done mass effect I’ll get it
I really hope that they do a sequel in future with all playable characters and maybe include some in depth space and planets exploration and stuff but yeah we'll see.
The true underdog story in every possible way 🤘
They even diss the avengers in the game
I loooooooved this game start to end.
I personally wasnt worried about the game before launch
I dont know why tho
