this game was based off of an obscure anime with the story that pero refused to eat mice and gary gary challenged pero to go across the world, 80 days style. It takes place around the same time, and count grumman and 3 assasins are trying to hunt you down. But since the stopry was made vague in the NES game, and nintendo diodn't know about the anime, they adapted it into a cartoon for captain N, which got a weird result that was slightly different from the anime, like a aparralel universe thing going on. Puss 'n Boots Travels Around the World
@RedCanSoda - The 1969 animated Puss in Boots film was one of the first projects director Hayao Miyazaki ever worked on. So a Captain N/Miyazaki crossover actually exists.
I recall renting this game when I was little and disliking it for some reason. Now I'll get to see the end, which I'm sure is a massive letdown! Thanks, dude. ;)
In the submarine half of the ocean level, one of the big mountains that you HAVE to blast through conceals a hamburger. I found it because I was mad at the stupid thing and decided to compleatly level every last peice of it.
Just out of curiosity, where did you get the cartoon pictures of Pero, Count Gruman and Doctor Gary-Gary from? Is it from a 'Captain N' episode as I've noticed a couple of people mentioned an episode which was partially based off this game.
the game is actually based on a movie made by toei animation in the 80's. It never made it to america. Its weird because the story line of the movie is compleatly diffrent then the game play. At the end of the movie, they fight a blue, shape shifting devil named lucifer.... unless they are fighting the devil himself. Is he the end boss in this game? I never made it that far to find out.
Sorry about the repeated replies, my computer was acting up, so I didn't know wearever or not you got my messeges, you can delete the others. Again I'm sorry about that.

I used to rent this video game a lot from the video store back in the 90s.
The air balloon song is great
Did he? I don't remember him at all in that. Then again my memory for details is pretty crappy.
@stylin291 yeah, that actually made me cry a bit inside.
Yes, or rather 3 animated films by Toei Animation, Pero is their mascot as BigAI2k6 pointed out above.
I liked the Captain N episode on this.

The round things in the western level you aren't sure what they are are suppose to be tumbleweeds, I think.
Thanks. I'm also glad the whole series has now been released on DVD, as I wish to see this episode soon (once I buy the set).
This game is basically Toei Animation commissioning a game based on their company mascot.

How do you switch between weapons when on foot?
oh! I lied, the movie was made in the 70's or 60's. The cat Perro is toei's mascot since the movie did so good.
Just checked Wikipedia...there is an episode based off this game.
Wow are there any games that DIDN'T get an episode.
He was funny as hell though in Shrek
You know a game is bad when invincibility sucks.
um...exactly how do u spell that long "s" name at the beginning?
That blinking weapon icon seems like it would be really annoying and distracting...
True. You should.
Why did that bird blow up at 5:32, anyways, enjoying your vids, Aqua.
Use the boomerangs to beat the boss, not the bombs. You don't have to jump with them.
"The map looks like shit smeared on a canvas and astruailia looks like on ass!"
LMAO!
I couldn't stop laughing, almost eveyrthing in this game seems to explode when you shoot it.
HAHAHA! @ 7:29 Quote:
