Sorry to hear this one really didn't work for you, dude! I actually had a good bit of fun with this movie, and thought it was a pretty entertaining yet messy little cat and mouse flick. Definitely loses some steam toward the end and the conclusion is a bit undercooked, but as someone that hasn't vibed with M. Night Shyamalan for a while I was surprised that it worked for me. And like the fact that they ruined the #twist"in the goddamn trailer... It's like when you found out watching the trailer for Two Towers that Gandalf wasnt dead.
Also he hasn't hit in quite a while... I think I remember liking After Earth but only in comparison to Lady in the Water, Devil, and whichever one Mark Wahlberg talks to plants in.
I liked the movie for the most part. I enjoyed Josh Hartnett and the actress who played his daughter. They had great chemistry. I actually thought the story was good and same for the script. It was suspenseful to me. The concert scenes were the best. I agree with you about M. Night's daughter, she sang well and that's where they should have ended her character.
Lol i liked it! ..I was more drawn to The Butcher’s Character, his Motivations, and Psychology. Like the things they were saying in it about him, his traits.. I found to be scary knowing some people are actually like that. After seeing Deadpool, i’m so desensitized and im like this Butcher didn’t even kill or show blood or anything LOL he pushes someone, and put his finger on a shoulder. Okay but all in all, for a thriller I thought this one was good.

I’m a big M. Night fan and I genuinely feel like I wasted my time watching this movie

I liked this movie as well. it is simply just fun. i think if you caught up in the technical details it may be a bit annoying
Shyamalan is similar to bay and emmerich in terms of being controversial though I like bay and emmerich as better directors do you like them as well.
I like Shyamalan more than the two of them
