Fun fact, scammers tend to misspell their absurd messages intentionally. It weeds out the people that would be smart enough to ask questions and confirm things before paying. If it's so obviously a scam most just roll their eyes and ignore it, then only the people dumb or afraid enough to take it seriously will contact them.
If you want to ruin that for them you can always spend an hour on a rainy day to reply to them and argue you can't possibly be owing them money, just don't click any links or download anything they send, lol.

I think it's more problematic that a dad would jump on his daughter and give her a hickey than a side-guy doing the same...
While I'm sure they were just trying to pass blame for a side-guy. It is possible that their dad thought they'd be funny and embarrass them and give them a pinch hickey. My brother used to try to do that to me to embarrass me. Pinch somebody hard and long enough, it'll end up looking just like a hickey.

For once I don’t need to do the basic adult task Charlotte reminded us to do! I feel so good about myself, lol. Ofc she said nothing about putting away the pile of clean laundry sitting in the basket or making my bed with the clean sheets sitting unfolded on a shelf…but still. At least it’s clean. It shall be put away in 3-5 business days.

I came here to say this too. As a funeral director, I often have to assist families who have lost a loved one, and they have no idea what their wishes were. As hard a conversation as it is to have, it makes things so much easier. This way, the family can make sure their wishes are being stuck to.

I'm a 31 year old girl with end stage renal disease and Ive tried talking to my boyfriend and sister about it (only family I have left, lost my parents years ago) but I guess it's a really rough conversation to have and they don't particularly want to hear it, so I would really like to give this a try and make it easier to have a plan set for them so they don't have to wait until it happens and make an already hard time even harder for them. Thanks for this !

It was meant to be encouraging to women entering the culinary fields, but too many people never made it past the initial clickbait tweet. I'm not saying the whole fiasco is not their fault, but it wasn't heinous sexism.
It sucks because twitter is a platform made for paragraphs seperated in out of context chunks, it's heaven for misinformation and anger

The last one cracked me up. It reminded me of the 2018-2020 most common scam caller I got that said, "Your social security number has been cancelled, due to suspicious activity", usually followed by a threat that if I didn't call a number, they would send police to arrest me within 48 hours. Comedy gold.

I had a friend who had to take a remedial math class in Community College because she couldn't do basic math (fractions were beyond her). I still don't understand how she graduated high school if she couldn't do basic math...
I just asked my kids (6&8) which burger is bigger between 1/3# and 1/4# and they both got it right. The 6 year old answered first... I don't understand how so many people(adults!) wouldn't pick up on it.

Yea we were looking at things like this recently too. My father is 93 years old. he decided it was most expedient to go ahead and give my son the house and the car, which were the only property he owns apart from clothes and such. He has the will saying everything else is mine to do with as I please. And he's already chosen how and where he wants to be buried (green burial, after I showed him some informative videos) and is putting money aside for it. Hopefully we won't need any of that for another 7 years because he says he's going to be here until he's 100 and at this point I believe him XD
My mother had something similar to this and it made my life so much easier when she and my dad had to go into a nursing home. She was incredibly well-organized so I was able to just take over when they needed me to.

The Burger King "women belong in the kitchen" tweet was for a scholarship program for women who worked as cooks at their restaurants to get a culinary degree. It was a stupid gimmick, but they weren't being misogynistic, lol.

Nausea/vomiting...part of my daily life but today has been worse than normal and my anti-nausea meds haven't been working as well the last few days.) The type of metal does matter in the what's heavier question. A pound of feathers weigh the same as a pound of iron, but a pound of feathers is actually heavier than a pound of gold or silver. That is because gold and other precious metals are weighed using troy weight, which I believe has 12 ounces to the pound, whereas feathers and other non-precious metals are weighed using avoirdupois weight which is 16 ounces to the pound. A troy once is heavier than an avoirdupois once, but a troy pound is lighter than an avoirdupois pound.

@@elentari15 Nope, because metric is on a fixed logic scale. 100 grams of gold is the same as a 100 grams of feathers. Which is why Metric is oft used for metal sales (outside of the U.S).
Some U.S gold sales reps will actually use this knowledge to short unawares people 4 ounces of gold, and say "It's a troy pound." Which is why savy/experienced buyers will always ask if its in troy pounds, and then ask for the gram value.

"Women belong in the kitchen" - that was their call for women to apply for chef positions. I understand why it triggered a lot of people, because we live in a society. But it really wasn't any worse than any other random misfired advertisement campaign.
Wasn’t a misfire. The generated outrage was intentional to get more eyes on the project.
if hiring was their actual intention, I am assuming that it went poorly. they should have added the hiring part. not saying that this would have made the statement look any better, still it would have given people a context.

I always weigh less after I get out of the shower or bath, so being wet doesn’t matter, but, then again, I’ve kept my hair much shorter these past few years than i used to have it at around 19” long and it weighed about 2lbs wet.

Starting with "Does this make me look fat?", when she is a bigger girl that NOTHING will make her look thin. It all depends on what she has in the closet, timing, etc. If you are running late with her to go to an event, as I saw on "Everybody Loves Raymond", the answer is ALWAYS no. That was the episode about her being late all the time then getting curling iron stuck in her hair, if you are familiar.

And he is correct!! Gold is weighed in troy pounds, and feathers are weighed in avoirdupois pounds. A troy pound is 12 ounces, while an avoirdupois pound is 16 ounces.
Troy pounds are used to weigh precious metals. Avoirdupois pounds are used to weigh most other things.
