Though not asked, I'm also pretty sure it couldn't corrupt a cat, because they'd be too busy slapping it around and losing it behind the couch.
I dunno... In all the cartoons there's usually a few who are determined to be the alpha. So I guess just a lone doggie, not one in a group/pack. LOL 😜

I have 2 brothers. Brother #1 was married 4 times, Jan, LeAnn, Jan and Louanne. Brother #2 was married 3 times, Susie, Susan and Sue. Holidays were very interesting, especially when the "new" fiance showed up. It was VERY confusing 😕. I was only married once....
I had a coworker called Jack. he started dating a guy called Jackson. I said to him 'isn't it weird, like...dating your son?' he just stared at me and said 'i hate you' but they are still together several years later. :P

I go to the Texas coast twice a year, and it’s not unusual to see globs of oil that look like tar, but there are oil rigs that can be seen, so these companies are still polluting the Gulf Of Mexico
@@valerief1231 Usually tar balls are from seeps that no one knows how to cap yet. There are "small" leaks, but it's not as much a thing.

I read a book years ago named "Katzen würden Mäuse kaufen" (Cats would buy mice, a barb towards that old commercial "Cats would buy Whiskas") that took a look behind the scenes of the pet food industry. It's quite appalling. Nutritional requirements for pet food are (or at least were when the book was published in 2007) so low that someone mixed "dog food" from old engine oil and chicken feathers, and it passed the minimum requirements. My dog eats mostly BARF (no, not puke, it means Bones And Raw Food), but when buying pet food, check the ingredients thoroughly. There's good stuff out there (at least here in Germany), but it certainly isn't Pedigree or Whiskas.

@@Kath-Erina "Bones and Raw Food" is what I've seen used the most, although I've seen it called Biologically Appropriate Something Something. It was translated into "Biologisch Artgerechte Roh-Fütterung" in keeping with the B.A.R.F. acronym.

No it's actually so true that there's still a lot of feed for sale that's mostly grains and leftover meat from pigs and cows. Which is really not nutritional and unnatural.
I have a cat that actually can't digest pork. They all eat poultry, or rabbit would be nice too. And no grains, corn and wheat is just filling, they poop it right out. Rice is ok though.
My cats are much more muscular since finding the right feed, plus they poop so much less.
A good diet can really add years to your pets life, so why wouldn't you? That article's title was so judgemental and very boomer.

The Ring effects people based on their level of will and purity of spirit. That was why people like Sam and Frodo where less influenced by the ring even though they both carried it, while Boromir was corrupted just by being close to it. It also has something to do with how much the person wants power, if they do not seek power at all then it can not influence them since it uses the draw of power to influence it's wearers. In the books there is a character called Tom Bombadil the Hobbits encounter as they head for Bree he actually puts the ring on when he's talking to them about it and the ring does nothing to him and he states his will and spirit are greater then that of the ring's so it can not harm him. If you are wondering why they don't just leave it with him they explain later he's powerful but very forgetful and kind of simple so while he'd protect it for a while; he'd likely forget all about it when his attention shifts and that was more dangerous in the long run then trying to destroy the ring.
Frodo sounds like a nickname you would get in Animal House
So Faromir didn't care about power, he was able to resist the ring almost as easily as Aragon.
not quite right, the main factors are power and desire for power and less purity or willpower. Frodo was more subceptible to it, then sam fo example, for he at least understood the concept of power, sam simply would not know what to do with it in the slightest while gandalf, an incredably pure person himself feared it like hell for while he is pure, he does hold power that could be corrupted.
Boromir had lots of willpower as seen in just how long he manages to defend his little friends, and he has no desire for power just for the sake of power, so purity still aplies to a point. His weakness was that he desperatly needed power and due to his fathers misconception of what the ring is and does, thought he could use it.
what people do not get is, that in a way, the stakes where the highest for boromir. the shire is pretty isolated and sheltered, the dwarfs and elves live fare away too and are not active partisipants of the war with the elves even being in the process of leaving middle earth either way, but boromir lived with that fear his whole life, the army is marching for his city. It makes sense that he is the most desperate for a way to defend himself and all the people he cares about, that he is looking for a weapon.
@@chadfalardeau5396 faramir was not in the proximity of the ring long so no wonder he was not as effected also, he learned to fear it from gandalf while boromir got negativly influenced by their father, who never cared enough for faramir to brainwash him too.

In the end when it came to destroying the Ring Frodo began to struggle while Gollum in his greed was the one who destroyed it by pure accident (throwing himself in the fires along with it).
Leaving the scene of an accident is automatically a charge worse than DUI. Don't do it unless you are trying to evade a real felony charge.

Real story here: my eldest son called me at my place of employment late one winter afternoon and said "Mom, the house is full of thick black smoke. Got any ideas?" Sure grab your little brothers and get OUT OF THE HOUSE! IT'S ON FIRE!! He was 15 at the time. I called my Dad to go over there until my husband got there and he layer told me he saw flames on our roof from 7 blocks away!

The Ring has a will of it's own, if it wants to be found it will be found.
Gollum was isolated in a cave in the depths of Misty Mountains, so The Ring couldn't change it's bearer. The moment Bilbo got near enough, it saw it's chance and called to Bilbo. The hobbits are not interested in power or leaving Shire, so The Ring could not corrupt anyone. The best it could do was to stay with Bilbo, who was the only hobbit who might adventure outside of Shire.
When the Black Riders got near Frodo, he had an urge to put The Ring on, because it wanted to be found. The moment when The Ring slips on Frodo's finger at the Prancing Pony happens because the ring wants to make it presence known.
"A Ring of Power looks after itself, Frodo. It may slip off treacherously, but its keeper never abandons it. At most he plays with the idea of handing it on to someone else’s care - and that only at an early stage, when it first begins to grip. But as far as I know Bilbo alone in history has ever gone beyond playing, and really done it."
The reason The Ring didn't corrupt the rest of the fellowship was because they saw Frodo as a sympathetic character. They all knew he was giving away his life the moment he volunteered, and none of them thought he had actually understood what he had volunteered for. Take that away, and have all of them share the responsibility, more of them would have given in to The Ring. We also don't know whether rest of the fellowship would have given in eventually, because Frodo decided to leave before they would find out. Most likely they would have, but The Ring didn't want them to kill each other and leave it isolated again, so it focused on one individual.

Before we switched brands of dog food my big dog was having severe skin issues. His skin was constantly red and itchy (he was always scratching/biting) and his fur was horribly patchy, now he’s perfectly fine and his fur is back to its natural thickness ❤️

About the dog who's mad at his owner- depends on the dog. My mum's was once so happy to see her after a holiday she managed to knock herself over, but the first dog she had would be glad to see her home- and then ignore her for a few days. Pointedly turning her face away and everything.
Now, you see, Borimir's father had asked him to retrieve the ring for him. So regardless of where it was, Boromir would've tried to get it. Just saying. Lol

Charlotte's talk about exes and going for someone who looks like their ex has me thinking. I like the gift wrap but not the gift.
Lol, I’ve had the exact same thought about beavers 😂 It’s a bit of a read, but I actually have a “neighbour from heck” story about beavers:
We have a family of them out at our farm that every few years occasionally they or their offspring from a previous year move a little further down our stream towards the western edge of our place. That’s when things can get a bit dicey for them…it’s close to the bridge on a range road, which puts them at risk of getting run over and, worse yet, it leaves them open & vulnerable to beaver hating humans. Now, I need to point out that the two neighbouring farmers whose land actually joins up to ours on that end do not in any way mind them being there; so they’re not hurting anyone. We all know they’re good for the ecosystem, and ALMOST everyone enjoys them being here. (That particular stream they dam is in a valley area of our farm that’s purposely always been kept undeveloped by my husbands family for generations). BUT! Our little beaver troop ALSO have the added risk that they seem to annoy the heck out of a new rich politician landowner from the city, an entitled little @*#& that everyone in our area absolutely can’t stand, us included (he actually tried to annex 20 acres of our land when he first bought his place, claiming it was his. 🙄🤨🤯).
We’ve tried to find out why them being here bugs him so much…apparently he just likes shooting innocent animals, basically. He’s even bragged about killing other beavers on some friends land before, so we keep a VERY close eye on “ours” to be sure he doesn’t do anything awful - we even went out and bought trail cams to help with that. (Keep in mind, these beavers don’t actually affect HIM in any way at all - that particular stream isn’t anywhere even CLOSE to any of his land…he’s just “that” kind of a jerk who seems to genuinely feel he has the right to do whatever he wants, simply because he’s a politician with family money). Due to the way landowner laws work here in Canada when it comes to troublesome neighbours like this jerk, we had to recently go so far as to have that particular section of our land titled & registered as a wildlife sanctuary to stop him & his fat cat buddies from trespassing & hunting on our land - they‘ll now get a massive fine & possibly even jail time instead of the slap on the wrist they’ve gotten before when caught trespassing & hunting.
But I digress. (Sorry about that!).
Suffice it to say that there’s definitely some “tension” in our area due to that twit. So whenever that jerk neighbour starts stomping around, flexing & making threatening noises about shooting them, to prevent any loss of beaver life my hubby has a really good way of encouraging any of their offspring to move along from that particular spot near the road or to return back upstream to their normal spots if it’s the original pair. As soon as the jerk starts pitching his little fits over the beavers being there, (I swear that man just loves the sound of his own voice! 🙄😠), my hubby starts going down to the pond every morning and taking specific areas from the top of their dam down a couple feet, which starts slowly leaking out the water behind it. Beavers are absolutely mental about their dams & can’t *stand* the sound of running water at the best of times, so if a dam starts leaking it’s all paws on deck to make sure it stops. It’s the perfect answer to the issue of them being where they aren’t safe; by using the way these amazing little guys instincts & brains are wired to work against them like this, it humanely forces them abandon that spot (if you do it daily for a few weeks) and then they either go further up or downstream…either one then puts them far out of easy reach of the entitled jerk neighbour and further away from getting killed by a vehicle. 🙌 Win-win! 😁👍 Once they’ve moved along, we go down and completely remove the new dam to discourage further development. It’s incredibly difficult work to remove btw…these little critters are better structural engineers than several humans I’ve met through the years! 😉😏
Ps - the reason the beavers go over the bridge rather than under is our county puts welded metal grating at both ends of the culvert pipes used under bridges around here. We’ve asked for it to be removed on this particular one, or even made with a hinge on one side so it could be opened during spring floods, etc but so far we’ve had no luck with that. We’ll keep trying though!

I remember going out of town for 2 weeks and leaving my cat with my family. I got home and she wouldn't even set foot in my bedroom for two days. After that, it was like it never happened. Like a switch, everything was fine and she was cuddly again. She didn't need to have a talk with me like that doggo.

My tiny poodle, Holly, is my baby now. She even has her own water glass on the Coffee table. It’s true that people are more conscious now, about what they feed their pets, as they should be. My pet eats fresh chicken and a very good dry food. Good pet owners are way more aware of what they are feeding their animals now. Some pet foot brands really need to step up the quality of their products.
