Hello what setting did you en be up with after alignment? Does it drive straight on the Highway? Mine was set to G and it feels like I’m steering a boat
@@PhoRunner I had a quick question, I recently bought SPC model 25460, they look different. It looks like the flat metal model, however this one looks like a tubular model. They both claim they are the same model number. So which one is which?
Mine come with the same upper control arm . Can i replace it with the old original one because this type of ball joint is expensive . So is that ok and my car is lifted about 3 inch or more
Hi! Great video! Question: when I went to grease my ball joints I used what appears to be a similar grease gun just a different brand and I use the same Grease as you. I noticed when you pumped your grease in nothing came out of the injection site. When I pump my grease in, grease comes out the sides of the injection site. I used a pic to see if the little ball valve on the joint moves and it does, it is not stuck. When I pushed it in a little bit of Grease came out. Is there something I am doing wrong? Do you think I'm still getting grease into the ball joint?
you still like the km3s? Cant decide between ko2 or not, it is my daily driver so im worried they wont last as long and the drive will be more bumpy, thank you
A mechanic friend of mine recommended that I raise my 4runner so that the suspension is at full droop before greasing the ball joints. I think that might make sense, plus it should give a little more room. What do you think? Also, I have found 2 different lists of approved grease products from SPC... both from 2016. I bought the first one on that list... Valvoline VV633, but I think most any NLGI NO.2 MOLY Fortified grease is probably fine.
i still have my set of spc arms waiting for install. been busy with moving so its on the back burner but looking forward to getting them installed! ill be using this vid to service them when it's finally time, thanks.
I have this really bad squeak going on, sounds like an old mattress, I’m really hoping this does the trick. I had to have mine swapped because of the bushings so i hope they’re not going out again because it took so long for spc to swap them under their warranty
Great video. Btw anyone know what the symptoms of failed or failing SPC ball joints are? I just ordered a set and I’ve been reading about all the failures of them. Bummer
I would stay away. Had around 20k miles on mine. One of them popped off while hitting a small pothole, wheel was only being held by lower ball joint. Going back to oem
@@JJ-rb3sshow are they legally selling these things 😂 just went to have my tires rotated and the tech wouldn’t even rotate because he said my upc are falling off which are spc’s and just installed last year
Lately ive been reading about SPC parts failing prematurely. I really wanted a set but now I have my eyes on some JBA uca
Which part failed? Bushings or balljoint?
@@PhoRunner if I remember Correctly, a little of both. Idk if user error or bad QC

Thanks for the vid. I'm liking my spc arms. They performed well in moab
Nice
Cool video, i just purchased my SPC upper control arms and will be installing them soon
Make sure you get the right grease as you’ll need it after it’s installed

I believe they updated it to the flat design
@@PhoRunner Ok, good thing I bought it from Amazon. So I returned it and just purchased the one on your channel. Thanks again, you came in clutch.
Does this same stuff work with Tuff Country UCAs or would the process be different?

Nice video, could you do a review of the rack/tent set up? Looking to do something similar
For sure!
Can i swap back to the oem upper control arm + ball joint because this spc ball joint r expensive
My 3rd gen is lifted so is that ok if i went back??
You can go back
Thanks for another excellent video.
Thanks!
Great video! I hear some clunking when driving over small bumps - sounds like it’s coming from the UCA ball joints. Sounds possible?
Most likely sway bar end links but inspect the control arm bushings too
Grease gun tip got stuck on SPC zerk fitting. How do you get it off?
Wiggle it off
@@PhoRunner impossible I’ve tried
I hope all is well!
Yup!!!

I don’t think so. Maybe the gun isn’t set right. You should feel it when you pump
i have built right UCA’s….is penetrating lithium grease be sufficient enough?
I’m not too sure. Check the manual for those uca

Go all terrain for mpg and practicality. If it’s not your daily, km3.
Excellent video man. On another note, what spark plugs/wires do you use? I’m in the process of changing mine and wanted to ask you for advice first 😅
Denso wires I believe and denso/ngk spark plugs. Find the oem part numbers on denso website
@@PhoRunner thanks for the reply bro!

Not sure it’s necessary but would hurt. Any moly black grease should be fine
Hey wondering what you think about a body lift?
I think I’d do a max 1” body lift. I imagine the body roll would be bad though
Have you ever used JBA Control arms ? What’s your opinion on JBA vs SPC ?
I haven’t but I heard only good things. Just no adjustability to clear bigger tires would be my concern.
Thanks so much for the video!
Glad it was helpful!
Informative video thanks! Do you have yours set on setting D?
I can’t remember but I have a full video on adjusting it

You can use this to do the initial greasing :).
@@PhoRunnerhey how often should I do it..? If I don't go off roading.. I got it installed last year and put on 9000kms since all highway driving..

I wouldn’t think this would solve a squeak. Try wd40 on the bushing, one side at a time and seeing if it removes the noise.
Can you keep the grease on the gun for storaging it
Sure can
My spc balljoint popped out hitting a small pothole. Greases them regularly. Going back to oem uppers
Wow! Thx for the tip
I've used lucas red and tacky, that should be okay?
Spc was pretty adamant about the black grease so I would swap it out on your next service.
@@PhoRunner will do, thank you. Will exess grease come out from somewhere? Should i keep pumping until it's no longer red?
It’ll come out as you drive per spc and normal.
Where did you find the caps for the valves?
Just froma generic vacuum cap kit
Do u have the link of ur grease gun
Check my video description. Should be one similar to mine in there
Pls make a video greasing the driveshaft!
Check Timmy the tool man’s video
My right upper control arm is missing the valve to put the grease nozzle on, it’s just a hole 🕳 is that an issue
Great video.

Probably play in ball joint or early failure of bushings. Think they revised them already (bushings)

The valve opens and closes on the grease gun zerk fitting. Twist to tighten and loosen.
👍
