For the price, I do not think there is a better gate. Once I changed the settings, it cuts very fast, fast enough that it acts exactly like I want it to.
I like the EHX "The Silencer" the best. I have had it a few days now, and I have it tuned in PERFECTLY now, something I hadn't done at the time I made this video. My current/new settings are: Release = 7'o'clock (full COUNTER-CLOCKWISE) Reduction = NOON, sometimes 11PM Thresh = NOON, sometimes 11PM The gate closes as fast as I would ever like it, and it opens fairly easily. If it seems to open slower, I move the THRESH to 11PM. The THRESH settings really depend on the guitar/pickup. My louder pickups I set it at noon, the softer ones (with less gain), I reduce the threshold to open the gate with less effort and go down to 11PM, maybe even 10PM depending in the pickups (single coil=10PM). The JOYO is still a great gate, but if you want to do start/stops, the JOYO gate cannot be adjusted to close faster, which makes the EHX a better choice. Also depends on your budget, if you need a rock-bottom priced gate, the JOYO will do. If you need to be able to tune the gate more, spend ~ $25 more and get the EHX. I want to go to GC and A/B the EHX against the Decimator II and the TC Electronics models, and the BOSS.
thanks mate. i already ordered the silencer by electroharmonix. i cannot afford to buy high end pedals but if it is on enhancer like compressor, noisegate, wirings and setting i prefer more precise pedals and set ups. thanks mate, that helps me allot.
The decay is too long so it doesn't cut the unwanted noise quickly enough...
If you read my posting, this was the 1st day I had the pedal. It is not set like that anymore...
So should I buy this pedal?

if i turned the middle knob 100% clockwise, it cuts all the noise.
David Howard brother is the joyo noise gate really good ...??? I am about to buy it...
Silencer is not even well connected, you need to use or properly bro
you are not using this pedal correctly.. if you connect all inputs/outputs you will be shocked at how well it works
I still hear the noise coming though. your gates don't seem to close fast enough.
What is that after noise (each time you finish playing: like a squeeking metal noise)?
That's the gate shutting down the signal.
Okay, thanks.
David German it's his fingers slides on strings + the high gain .. it makes a strings slide high gained ... as harmonics ..
It's the noise of someone who can't eq an amp
@@fuzzb0x436 thanks.
sir what is best for you??

gotta tweak your release knob some more on the silencer to get rid of some of the extra noise after you play.
My gosh dat gate needs to set quicker it does improve the sound but it closes so slow
I’d have sat away from the amp to minimise feedback... kinda ruined the video considering the pedal type
HarmoNIX… 😂😂
This sounds awful with and without theese pedals. I can't stand to watch
koszmarny dźwięk.
