I agree and disagree with him. It is true we don't have to try to control everything, but there are dangers and so many young people die every year because they risk foolishly, and that is so sad! We are not more fearful than our ancestors, they were very scared of everything, foreigners was rejected, we actually have learned to be much more friendly than our ancestors. Maybe it is about him, he talks about his hidden need to live a risky life which he didn't.

I'm sure he had a very risky life when he was protesting on the streets in the 60s/70s. He thinks we're mollycoddling our children too much and he's correct. I work with kids for a living and I have seen the differences in socialisation between 1990-2020. Mums too scared to let their kids go on their own to the local park etc.
Those words in my ear sounds more like young people live and if you really live sometimes you can die because life is dangerous we live in a dangerous universe on a dangerous planet we have earthquakes and tornadoes we have hurricanes and volcanic eruptions anyone who really wants to be safe should die because then they're safe I get nauseous at people who are afraid to do things they should never reproduce
So you can say it another way those people who live sometimes die because life is dangerous and then there's the coward who dies every day no every hour May every minute but life is not his only fear and death
