Hellooo Wild Ones! Thanks so much for stopping by my lil vid, I had great fun frolicking about in this bush 😄 There’s something about sleeping with a full view of the natural surroundings that you just can’t beat. This is a waterproof hammock which allows you to use it on the ground. If your hammock isn't waterproof, I imagine you could use it this way with a ground sheet underneath it? I’m hoping to try it as an actual hammock soon, actually hanging from trees to sleep, which I have never done before - stay tuned! :D Have a great weekend and see you again soon, Claire 🌿🐻
My husband and were in Maui and grabbed some sushi to go and sat in a park on the beach. I used the restrooms and when I came out a guy pulled his tent out of the bushes lining the front of the restrooms tossed his surfboard in it, changed his clothes and took off. As we sat and ate our suchi under a large banyan tree we notice an odd shape up in the tree, it was a twin size mattress with a surfboard on it and a bike below locked to truck of the tree. Most likely two young guys living the life in Hawaii on the cheap. # you only live once, follow your dreams !
You are going to LOVE a hammock! Using one has changed stealth camping for me for life. Comfort for one! Weight? well, add in the bug net and fly and it's similar to a tent but I LOVE IT! When backpacking, it's difficult to find level and decent ground. In a hammock, I find 2 trees from 10-20 feet apart and I can just hang and relax sideways (instead of carrying a camp chair when i backpack) and also, I can sleep SO well! I cut out the sleep pad and use a fleece for a pillow under my neck. I can post some pics this weekend as I just purchased an entirely new set up and am going to set up beside the river and actually do some videos for the first time ever. Cheers Miss and thanks for sharing your stealth camp!
Claire, I just thought I wouldn't say thank you for your videos. They are like little treats for me when they come up in my feed, and it makes me happy! I only Bivy (Dutch Army). I have a Hammock and a tent, but I always end up going back to the raw simplicity of the bivy. I found a free app called Stellarium about a year ago. I lie watching the midnight sky and learn a new star sign. So silly, but so wonderful!
The wild camp/hiking community is one of the most positive communities I’ve ever discovered. It has inspired me and I’m sure many others, to really get back to nature in an enjoyable and respectful way. It really helps you mentally and discover yourself. Thanks to all who go out of their way to make these fascinating videos and all the people who comment in such a positive way. Learned so much from wildbeare and many others.
So enjoyed that spot with you Claire. When we camp up in the Rocky Mountains we try to camp in bushes too. We find it better with a the large animal in the areas, moose, black bear, Grizzly bears and cougars etc... Your videos just keep getting better and better. Take care...Paul. Calgary.
Claire it's such a joy watching your videos. When I'm having a rough day I can watch your video and they always put a smile on my face and warms my heart. Thank you so much for sharing the beautiful countryside.
You absolutely had me hooked when you said "I must sleep in this Bush" 😂at the beginning of your video 😁love it, exactly the same kind of thing I wud say after a random good find. enjoy your adventures, stay wild, 😊x
The hammock/bivi looks like a very versatile piece of equipment. The ruilt-in pump in the mattress is a smart idea; beats going dizzy trying to blow one up.
"a hollow under a bush... lots of deer about". Be careful sleeping where deer sleep. Check yourself for TICKS!! If you get an odd bite/spot come up. Keep an eye on it. I had this and an odd headache, after 4weeks the bite mark turned into a bullseye and doctor said I had Lyme's disease. Look after yourself, I enjoy watching your videos.
Perfect deer hideaway and the ticks will hang on the bushes until the next big feed comes by, which could be you. It's worth doing some research to know what to look for as Muddodger says.
@@maratonlegendelenemirei3352 It's no dramas. I had a unique headache for a few days, then a big bullseye on my arm. Doctor just gave me a 2week course of antibiotics and no other instructions or advice. I was bitten next to a lake in France where there were lots of deer and boar. Pulled 9 ticks off my brother last month after he decided to sleep in a bivvy bag in Wales / sheepland.
@@maratonlegendelenemirei3352 It's no dramas. I had a unique headache for a few days, then a big bullseye on my arm. So cool. And thank u for not putting some bs backing track on the audio like slowly banging drums or something. That happens a lot. Good music. Good choice of locations. Good camerawork.
You found yourself an hidden gem there Claire in that bush. Great way to spend the night being able to see the night sky. Oh and the cheese and bacon burger looked amazing. Thank you for sharing.
@@WildBeare you’re welcome, makes me want to go out and try the wild camping on Dartmoor and Exmoor.. I’ll be noting down your equipment and your reports on their performance
This is another brilliant wild camp vid Claire. Love it,,👏 What is the average cost of a typical trip out? Can you give us a rough break down of how you plan and budget for a trip e.g. a Snowdon venture, please😊 kindest regards mickT
I have done recently a car camping (though I prefer outdoor camping) I have got Peugeot 307 SW with an enormous sunroof! It was a hasty purchase (the car I had broke down beyond repair, repairing would cost me more than car itself) but I believe the right one! Instead of sleeping I have been watching stars all night. I was never an outdoor person until first lockdown kicked in... I got sick of staying home watching and playing games day by day, wasting time, I found peace in wild camping! Thank you for sharing your experiences/adventures! Few months ago I slept under the stars in Surrey Hills. It was amazing!
Claire, thank you for this amazing video. I've camped like this and the sound of the birds are so relaxing. Enjoy your time in the beautiful countryside
You poor Munchkin. The weather is often unkind to you, but this time it smiled on you Claire . Yeah. . So glad all your gear did a very good job and kept you comfy. Take care love xx
What a cool little spot that was Claire, and what a way to spend a night, out in the open but still protected from the bugs. Another inspirational video, you really are amazing 🙏🏼 thank you for sharing this with us! Xx
Hey Ash, aw thanks, as are you 🤩 I'm getting really into this sleeping under just the net thing, my WA loves it! Hope you're good and congratulations again on your amazing C2C achievement - EPICCC :D Xx

Camping today is quite different from camping in the early 70's back home in the Philippines - i remember my simple canvas tent and thin bamboo bedding; we had US made tents then, but they were out our economic reach. Today, we're as up to date as you are - and that's sooooo coooool. Nice video.
Hi Claire, fabulous content. I walk in the Forrest at Balloch Castle every morning, about two weeks ago I spotted the first tiny but still blooming Scottish purple thistle, when I looked up close it was the most beautiful, delicate yet dangerous flower I’d ever seen. It reminded me of you. Keep being yourself, one of your wild ones.
Loving your videos, discovered your channel yesterday. I gave up lugging a tent around this year, getting a bit too old so I now use a bivvy shelter, very low profile, assembled in two minutes and weighs two pounds. A wonderful way to backpack and enjoy a night out under the stars. Your videos are fun, thanks for sharing.
You're so brave Caire! An inspiration for my two girl wildbeares and also for myself - I actually got out on a wild camp the other night and loved it. I was too scared to leave off the outer of my tent but so wished i had!
Nice video, but then all of your videos are top notch. You found a cool spot in the bush to camp. Very stealthy! Thank you for sharing your wonderful appreciation for the beauty found in nature.
Love your gentle assault on nature, and your appreciating what beauty there is left with nature after trashers have left their waste. Nice to see your respectful love of the quieter and intimate side of Britain.
I usually like to hammock camp on my birthday, 9th of June, but it's been foul weather here in the Pacific Northwest, USA. Thanks for getting out there for me. Nice spot.
