mjs28c nice, I would’ve expected that to be the most likely to peel with all the more fiddly parts. I take it in that time you’ve oiled the fretboard since applying the decal?
Earlier I was looking for a cool guitar and found the Harlem x but u said it’s shite so any advice on a decent good edgy looking guitar for cheap enough?
Depends how cheap and edgy you want it. There’s loads of second hand pointy things around (such as the Cruiser RG600 in one of my older videos) or even some of the lower end BC Rich models, but they’re a little hit and miss in terms of how good they are. There isn’t very much in the budget market for currently-available pointies, but maybe have a look at the heavy section of Harley Bentons on the Thomann website.
That could be a little risky. Lacquer doesn’t tend to stick to vinyl particularly well, so you risk it flaking. For the price of the stickers it’s probably less hassle to just replace them if they get damaged. Although I still haven’t had an issue with these.
Harif Santoso the glue shouldn't be a problem. If you do remove the decals later on just wipe over the area with lemon oil, that will nourish the fretboard again and lift out any adhesive.
Those look like they turned out great. Out of curiosity, did you just eyeball the placement, or did you do any measuring beforehand? I tried to apply the trapezoid inlays by eyeballing placement as carefully as I could - and it did not turned out so great :) Please share your placement secrets. Thanks for the video.
They're still going strong, but I'll be honest I've probably only played that guitar for about 15 hours since I did this tutorial, but they've not peeled with age or anything.
Got them from eBay, can't remember which seller but each seller has different styles in, so worth just searching "fret decals" and see what takes your fancy.
Thanks for the input, but I’m pretty sure I didn’t say it was a Traditional at any point, it’s a Special II. These inlays were my personal preference on this guitar.
"Rub the shit out of it." Hey, next time give us a warning. I spit coffee on my computer monitor. LMAFO!
Extra points if you weren't even drinking coffee.
Oh, I won't tell...
I've had the 'Hummingbird Tree-Of-Life decal on my axe for approx. 6 years. No issues at-all.

Can the decals be cleanly removed at a later date, to bring it back to original look, if desired?
@@montag4516 Sorry for the extremely late response but yeah, you can remove em
Do your dots show through at certain angles. I put some on my SG special and they are so thin you can see the dot outlines. 🙁
Not with mine. What finish are your stickers?
I have no Idea@@timthebudgetguitarguy8322
They are just these Faux MOP things , they look cool on the sheet ,but 😞@@timthebudgetguitarguy8322
1 of mine is peeling up... Not sure what's the best adhesive to stick it back down with 🤔
Replace it, you can’t stick it back down without making a mess.

Does it make any difference in playing guitar ? Thanks.
Not at all.
didnt effect the playability on my les Paul or my strat .
Nice job
Could you put a thin clear coat over them so they would never peel?

Nice video. Do you think the glue is good for keeping in long term? Thanks.

I see, i think i might get one of those for my tele. Thank you for your quick replied i appreciate that. Cheers.

Kwizy0 I just eyeballed it, so I feel it’s not as straight as it could be. The clear backing helps getting lined up.
how long this sticker can stay on fretboard?
If applied correctly it will stay there until you peel it off.
Hi where did you get the block inlays from ??
eBay if I remember correctly. Just search for vinyl inlays. Should bring up a lot.
coolest thing since a pocket on a shirt !
Wait til you find out about pockets on sleeves!
Where where can i buy such stickers?
eBay mostly, or there’s online stores like Creative Cuts, the choices are extremely varied.
It looks cool.
Do a video on putting a pick guard on that les Paul special ii please
Pewds Moderator I will do soon buddy, still trying to find the right material.
I'd like to see that too . I have 2 of them .
Just got these same ones, how long did they last you? Looks great man!

@@timthebudgetguitarguy8322 it's been about 2 months now, how they going?
where did you order the inlays ?

wrong inlays those are for a custom les paul not a traditional

The whole point is/was to customize the guitar. Helpful video.
