As a player of RDR2 since minute one, 2018 and still playing story mode (only), the ONE thing you need is the Legend of the East Satchel .. because it literally changes the way you can play the game. Going from being to carry 3 hay, or three beets or three whatever to 99, is a significant change. For all the blather it does take some effort to get the LOTE satchel by Chapter 2 or early 3, but 100% worth the effort.
Bro that is not how to get perfect pelts, use your binoculars to study the animal and depending on the species it will tell you to use the required gun or arrow size, after that aim at the animals head so that it dies in one shot which prevents the pelt from dropping in quality
