  • Reform MPs have struggled to find seats in the House of Commons as Parliament returned to work this afternoon for the first time since the general election.
    The Commons was absolutely packed for the formal reopening and Reform MPs had to stand as proceedings got underway.
    The main job of MPs this afternoon is to elect a new Speaker.

    First thing Nigel says, with no notes, calls John Bercow a little man, stands up for democracy while simultaneously charming the speaker. Nigel didn't struggle to find his seat, or his words.

    All those people, and what good are they? What exactly have they done for the country, and I mean all of them regardless of affiliation? I'm not impressed.

    I confess being puzzled in that I sure Lib Dem MP Tim Farron afformed, but he quoit of Lib dem Leader as he was "torn between living as a faithful Christian and serving as a political leader
