- Today's virtual walking tour I take you back to Deep Creek. I last visited in summer and the fireweed was blooming. That's all done now as the snow and wind have arrived and added a bunch of walk. The cold wind makes me envy those of you watching our videos for treadmill from the warmth of a gym or home but it's also nice to breath that fresh air. Let me know if you have questions and, if you are new here, please let me know how you found the channel. Keep on steppin' -H

This winter wonderland is stunning! The snow-covered landscape and crisp air make me feel like I'm there. Thank you for taking us on this virtual walk.
Glad you enjoyed it! It was good to get out filming. -H
It's at how much the landscape changes each season. It's constantly renewing itself and you show this very well in your walks. I love the contrast in colours between the grasses and the snow. I went to visit my sister who lived in Banff Canada and I remember it being a very dry cold. Totally different cold to here in the UK if that makes sense. Thanks Henry. Enjoyable as always
Hey there. Yes, it's very dry out here, usually. I envy your trip to Banff. I still haven't been and it's not that far away. All the best and I"m glad you enjoyed the walk. -H
Completely enjoyed the winter view of Paradise Valley and the surrounding area.

Thanks! -H
Hi Henry. Thanks for the walk. It looks lovely with the thin layer of snow. Got our first significant snow in Vermont yesterday. Heavy wet snow, unfortunately. How many years do you think it will take for the burnt out area you walked through to look fully grown again?
Oh man, that question is going way past my skill set. The fire was in August 2012 and judging by those young trees, I'd guess 80-100 years. Really just a wild guess though. Good question. It's very dry out here and cold so the trees grow slowly, and the soil up there isn't particularly fertile. Theres a stretch of 191 in Island Park, Idaho that has signs for several areas that say "Burned 1988" and they look about halfway mature. That's higher and in volcanic sandy soil so it's probably slower growing.
Good to hear from you. Hopefully you get some better snow soon. Us too. -H
@CityWalks I think that is an excellent answer and I appreciate it. I came across a RUclips driving channel called Relaxing Scenes and about a month ago he did a drive to Yellowstone (he went through Livingston) and the video has 102K views. I'm not suggesting you do a driving video, but maybe Yellowstone content is currently popular. Take care.
@@TomSealey Hi Tom, Thanks for that info. Yeah, I'm really at a loss for what get's those amazing numbers and what doesn't. Legally, one is not currently allowed to film in a National Park without a permit. Photos are ok. obviously, it comes down to enforcement but I'm choosing to err on the side of caution until a court case runs its course. I could rant for paragraphs about the rule but I won't do that here.
I'm definitely interested in any type of video channel that could reach more people. Thanks again for sharing. -H
Henry , looks like prime deer country although I'm not seeing any signs on the trail. How is the wildlife population doing in your area ❓
Other than the lack of shelter in the burned area, the region has plenty of deer and elk. Down in the valley there’s almost too many white tail. I feel like I’m seeing fewer birds but I don’t have proof. They are starting to truck on Grizzlies to try and get them off the endangered lists. We have wolves but they don’t last long outside the park. Same with bison. There are mountain lions around and a few moose. I’ve seen beaver in the river and of course there are badgers , porcupines, raccoons, skunks, and other small mammals around. I’ve seen a few weasels/ermine over the years. -H
