Winsor & Newton half pans fit in the Portable Painter from what I have seen, and they do now sell extra, empty half pans separately (just wish they shipped internationally!). My current favorite pallettes are either the Winsor & Newton Pocket Sketcher or a generic 3 well tin, still experimenting though and intend to try out both the Portable Painter and Portable Painter Micro this year and once I have settled on a favorite Portable and ultra portable setup I will fill all my "Spare" Palettes up and give them away to save space in my Art drawer. If you want a handy pen to do line work the Uniball Air is my current go to for on the go
Great reviews of all these products. Your sketches are amazing! Btw, I had a Portable Painter and was able to substitute regular size half pans with other colors… the fir was snug, but I could get them in with a bit of effort and still close the palette.
Thanks for the info. Seems you get what you pay for. Super cheap brushes are great with watercolor if you like the painting covered in "hair" as we found out this past weekend.
I know this is a really late reply, but my favorite cheap brushes I used for a decade are the Simply Simon "acrylic" or "mixed media" brushes. They cost about $3 each and last forever so long as you aren't looking for decent points on your rounds. I upgraded to good quality brushes last winter but still use the Simons for mixing up large batches of color or lending to my newbie friends who would ruin my good ones

Happy little bikes. :-)
You’re killing it with watercolor progression.
Fantastic art
Serendipity at it again. Something I never expected from your Vlog. Thankyou so much. A boon to my plans.

What bag are you using to store your brushes?
I figured it out! If anyone else is wondering, it's the 'Seeker Travel Kit,' by Swift Industries.
i like using a pen brush so that you have water and brush in one item
Can we purchase any of your artwork anywhere or see it in the wild somewhere?
Check the links in the description.
