  • We replaced the original 3.6L V6 with a powerful 5.7L V8 Hemi sourced from a RAM 1500. Disconnecting and removing the exhaust system, radiator, and other accessories connected to the engine, as well as detaching the wiring harness, throttle cables, and fuel line, were the easy parts.
    We had to ensure the engine mounts aligned with the Jeep's frame and check compatibility between the Hemi and the Jeep's transmission. For that to happen, it had to be the same year donor and recipient. Though some modifications in the motor mount were necessary, considering we were putting in a bigger motor, so space is tight.
    Integrating the Hemi's wiring harness into the Jeep's electrical system was another intricate puzzle, requiring adaptation or modification of connectors as needed to establish proper connections.
    That's just half of the work. The cooling system was a challenge. We had to install a new, big radiator that could effectively cool the increased power of the Hemi engine. We also modified and fabricated the entire exhaust system to achieve proper alignment and secure connections, but that's for another video.

      @@meautoaccessories You guys are doing a great job, how much more weight is the 5.7 compared to the 3.7?

      @@jeremywahl8544 Oh well, we didn't weigh them, but I know it is a lot more! Either way, the suspension will handle it after the system upgrade we did (Bilstein Struts and Old Man Springs)

      @@meautoaccessories I have a 2.5" Skyjacker lift on mine. I would have to get ahold of them to find out if they are upgraded springs, I know they are longer than the original.

      Just labor rounds 10k. The cost of parts varies based on their accessibility. It's a lot of hard work, but totally worth it!

      5.7 and 3.7 uses the same pcm.

    • @meautoaccessories
      @meautoaccessories  3 месяца назад

      They use identical PCM units in both the 5.7L and 3.6L engines, but their programming differs.

    • @msengineeringdavid3148
      @msengineeringdavid3148 3 месяца назад +1

      @@meautoaccessories they run on the same program it’s just flashed over to a hemi file the program doesn’t change it also looks like you’re not using an original pcm . Because the engine plug on the original harness is exactly the same. You also left out you welded hemi brackets to the subframe.

    • @meautoaccessories
      @meautoaccessories  3 месяца назад

      @msengineeringdavid3148 they're all the same plugs, but still, you need to have the computer to program it and change the file. Autel or SnapOn scanners don't do that. I used a pre-owned 2010 RAM PCM instead to avoid programming, which is plug-n-play, just need to change the VIN number
