Seeing these women in their prime and seeing them now really drives it home - time passes SO fast. Young today, tomorrow older (and hopefully wiser). Our life really is like a flower.

      Rebecca,
You are sooo right, I've found that the FOUNTAIN of youth starts with the acceptance of the Word of God.
He has a lot to say on aging, it begins in the mind the central professing unit for the body.
If we can wrap our mind around what our CREATOR says about us, not what we think, read Ps 139, it says it all. I am 72 yes young same as some of the people in this movie today. I still play tennis, jog, walk, golf etc, because I embrace the Word of my Creator. I have the mind of Christ, I hold his thoughts and purposes in my heart.

This movie was very good. I am so glad that Princess aka (Harriet) realized that she didn't belong down there in Harlem, NY where she came from. She had made it out of the hood with determination and education and family encouraging her. And she has a boyfriend that really loves her who was a successful attorney. She needed to be with people like herself. It's good to help people in need but you are only one person, and you can't save the whole world. You have to do your part and help some people. Great!! movie

I think she was too confused between guilt, memories, and, as the boyfriend said: "wanting more of life." Sometimes it´s too hard to help, but it´s possible to "do" something, and that´s helping indirectly. Maybe that´s fairer for everyone; and it would give her a connection to both worlds she wanted to be in touch with.

I mean if you think about it look at the kind of men or I should say the caliber of so-called men that these women are trying to impress I wouldn't bring them home to meet my dog they don't represent real black men because real black men and, real black women don't act anything like that they don't act at all they just stay real all the time. Watching this movie for the first time at 35 years young I see this from a different perspective. You really can’t save everyone. Instead of Sweettalk getting his life together he wallowed in pity for himself then tried to blame Hattie for reacting to what he was. She was the first person in a long time to actually show him the truth. Danny had been enabling him for a long time. Hattie was right. Both Danny and Sweettalk were afraid of moving forward. At least Hattie attempted to come back and help unlike Paul and his buddy. In the end Hattie did what she could and still realized she could not go back and also move forward. Sweettalk robbed her and used the money to buy the drugs that killed him. Danny blaming her showed her that he too was stuck just as much as Sweet Talk. I’m glad she made the best decision for her.

Love this!!💕 We need never apologize for "who we are". Maybe at times apologies are necessary for our behaviors, but never for our person. There is no cure for shame. In fact, most addictions are rooted in shame. Guilt is when we feel bad for what we have done. Shame is when we feel bad about who we are... @@pandawolfpresents You are entitled to your opinion. However, I said what I said... and I stand by what I said. Sodomy, murder, rape, pedophilia are all acts of violence; harmful, destructive, toxic behaviors. Shame is at the root of compulsive, addictive behaviors and cluster B personalities (Narcissists & Psychopaths). Shame causes self hatred and inadvertently hate for others. Shame makes a person feel bad about who they are... No one who feels bad for who they are does anything productive. Shame is at the core of Narcissistic Personality Disorder and Antisocial Personality Disorder... hence those who usually commit the most viscous crimes without even a hint of guilt or remorse. These personality disorders are formed early on in life due to neglect or overindulgence. Shame at the core of identity doesn't cure. Shame many times cripple from reaching full potential. Remorse for behavior brings healing. Life is full of people who cannot get past their past because they are stuck in shame. "I may have done what they said I did, but I am not who they said I am.... I always find it funny that homophobes always mentioned black LGBTQ out of context. That hatred harms you, and not us, brother. Remember that Gay and Lesbian black people(James Baldwin, Bayard Rustin, and Barbara Smith) were fighting for the rights of all black people. The children always forget what their hatred ignores.

Great movie! Straight, sad facts. How painful it is to see certain things shown this clearly; but it´s good. It´s so easy to turn our back on those who remain in poverty, illness or violent areas, from which we achieve to "escape". I think that those who know the pain themselves are the ones who can do some things that others can´t do; they must not, but they may, and it is something that fills one´s life. / Strength, goodness, knowledge, patience, persevearance, hope, ... so much needs to be done; so much can be done, ... and it is done, if we just pay the price to stay long enough as to get it done, with sweat, tears, faith, laughter, song and celebration! Great songs! Many blessings!
