@@Brad_West If I wasn't so hard up I'd buy your color grading course. But these are hard times for me. If this changes some time I'll go for it immediately. Thanks for your great work 🙂
@@a-51labsstudio90 I appreciate that! I've decided to do another video where I grade other people's footage. Anyone whose footage I use gets the course for free. So feel free to submit a clip of yours for me to grade: bit.ly/GradeYourFootage2 😄🤙🏼
Brad how do you handle Color Balance - White Balance in terms of sequence? Do you WB first, then apply the LUT? Or do it after applying LUT? Apologies if this is covered in your master class - I signed up for that and will begin tonight! Thanks.
Hey David. Firstly, thank you so much for the support! I appreciate it 😄🙏🏼 I usually adjust the white balance after applying the LUT. The main reason is because with log footage being so flat, it’s often tough to see what the white balance really looks like. The balance color effect also struggles to give accurate results when applied to log footage. But when applied to footage that has been converted to rec.709 by means of a LUT, it works much better 😄👍🏼
@@Brad_West the course is excellent and super value - I’m about halfway through and it flows logically and easily. Thanks for your reply. Totally makes sense!

you should use the manufacturer lut it will give you the best results then use a different lut or manually make a a color grade
Yeah the manufacturer LUTs are a great place to start to get a neutral rec.709 image. Creative LUT or manual grade after that is great 😄👌🏼
