Connie Han is a breath of fresh air! Such a robust and brilliant arrangement of a time-worn classic gives this a performance such a refreshing flavor! I've seen her live with her trio and it gives hope that jazz is still being spoken by a younger generation. She is fiercely independent in approach and presentation.
I Love how the voices respond to each other and especially how the snappy bass line keeps the song jumping forward

So far I am impressed but I would consider Hiromi to be "the gold standard."
@@scottwheeler2679I've seen both Hiromi and Connie live, and met/chatted with both. Both excellent players with their own niche. Riyoko Takagi is another great female jazz pianist. I've yet to see her - not sure if she's ever played outside of Japan.
