“一个学校” is indefinite "我们学校" or “这个学校” is definite as you know I know what "our school" or "the school" refer to. In the existantce sentence structure “someplace 有 something”， " something" should be indefinite.

Can 边 be replaced by 面? Or is there a rule for when to use which?
你好，it's fine to replace 边 with 面. （note：旁边 you can not say it 旁面）
