So I just recently left venice and I have to say we accidently stumbled upon a vivaldi concert. It was actually incredible and was so happy we discovered it. They apparently perform 4 months (until december) and recommend you see it.

Treviso is a great spot near Venice with airport as well. You can find a great apartment like "palazzina trevigiana" or "chiarano home" near the train station and then go by to Venice easily because are only 25 minute of train. Treviso is a super cool city as well, so I think is the best way to visit 2 great city in one trip 🎉

I was just in Italy back in April. We were in Rome, Florence and Venice. I have to say Venice was my favorite city. I loved all the bridges and my favorite place was Burano.

@AndrewPandrew200 paying charges constantly when you are a foreigner, because they know you can't read Italian..... yes, it is a waste of money! I did a lot of trip in different country, and here, in venizia, it was the first I felt so cheated by restaurant's owners......

The thing is, each Italian city has a different story, culture, food, dialect, people and architecture, Venice was a powerful Repubblica marinara and it's a unique place in the world, it's a must. Keep in mind Venice is 10 times smaller than Rome, if you are tight with time maybe you want to spend just 2 days in Venice and 3 or 4 in Rome. Enjoy.

Er gebeurde iets vreemds met mij in Venetië. Op een avond, terwijl ik met een jongedame aan de grote gracht aan het praten was, schoot er een blauwe vlam uit het water en zoiets als het hoofd van een dode man grijnsde naar me vanuit het water. Ik was hierdoor behoorlijk verrast, maar de dame zei dat dit normaal is in Venetië. Plots kwam er een grote hond met een schildpad op zijn rug uit de Sint-Marcuskerk aanrennen en uit zijn bek kwam een blauwe vlam en rook en zo'n stank dat de prostituee maar beter afscheid kon nemen en naar huis kon gaan. Ik was een beetje geschokt, maar ik bleef nog een tijdje naar de hond kijken toen zijn hoorn me in de nek sloeg, omdat het eigenlijk een stier was die gewoon naar een schildpad rook. Het was al ochtend toen de politie mij met een bloedende nek aantrof. Ik rook vreselijk naar een schildpad als ik met eieren kookte. Ze brachten me naar het carabinieri-station en daar voerden ze me schildpaddenvlees, dat snel gekookt werd door een goede oude dame die raad wist met dergelijke gevallen. De politie wist niets over de hond, maar de mysterieuze schedel bij het water verschijnt bijna elke nacht aan hen. Een oude man kwam haar te eten geven en gaf haar kruimels als vogels.
