To turn off the traction control, push the button once or put it on 4H/4L. Sway bar and the lockers, turn them on, then drive forward and turn the steering wheel from side to side until the lights stop blinking, it’s the same when you turn it off. Your front and rear parking sensors turns off when you go into either 4H/4L. As for it being capable off-road, pavement and as a daily driver it’s the best there is in the market. Payload and towing is kind a short due to the off-road capability, it can be fixed by replacing the rear coils if need be. As for the driving demonstrations, IMO the driver needs to work on his off-road driving skills. We can have the best tools ever made, but if we don’t know how to utilize it properly, it’s useless.
@@TrailBuilt You need to be moving when engaging the lockers and disengaging the sway bars. Sawing the steering wheel might help, but not required. source - I own a 2019 PW.
Absolutely Correct! This reminds of someone who doesn't know what he's doing and buys an off-road rig gets stuck and blames the equipment. If you know what to do, how show people what to do and the capabilities. I know training rep/s that would gladly take this guy to a ride and drive and show him how to operate the vehicle correctly. If he did the same thing in a Tacoma, the breakover angle is less and would have stuck it quicker.
There’s absolutely nothing better than being inside of a fully loaded power wagon or one of these new trucks on trips when you’re hauling stuff or towing etc. They are a great place to be. And they will tackle the off-road trips in complete comfort and luxury. The problem is that you have to familiarize yourself with these trucks in order to use them properly. There’s a lot of nannies to turn off like that stupid parking sensor and you just have to know these trucks before you get into them, you can’t just jump into one and go. It’s a curse and a blessing.
The truck of trucks. The original 4x4 truck. An H.D. off roader. Read your manual. My traction control goes off auto when in 4x4 on off switch on my dash. Need some white knuckle rock rails. Beautiful truck. Mines a 15 AEV Power Wagon. Hill decent is my favorite feature here in the mountains. Mine tows my 10,000lbs toy hauler off road in soft dune and beach sand. I rescue real offroaders jeeps trucks side by sides etc..
I just got the 2021 Power Wagon last year. I love it, it could be better with a Carli 3-inch suspension system extremes. We should plan an excursion one day.
Love the Video and I ordered My 2022 Power Wagon in June and should be getting it in Oct. BUT if I have to hear this guy say “ Waygen “ one more Time!!🤦🏻♂️🤯🤬
Its not an issue w the truck,, lockers require motion w side to side turning to engage if anything is bound. Same goes for disengagement as well as sway bar usage. That goes for any offroad equipped vehicle with this capability.
I could hear the Wisconsin accent the second I heard you say "wegon ." I like hearing all the different American accents! Love the Power Wagon, but I wish it came with 35's and the 4:30 axles. I'd still buy one, but 35's would be the cherry on top.
Push the traction control button and it goes off for donuts. Push the sensor buttons and the annoying beeping goes away. My sway bar disco is quick. Lockers take a minute but mine always engage. Stock side steps are awful. Air down the tires. Stock is 65 psi. Diesel would be nice but would add like 1000 pounds to an already heavy truck. PW isn't much longer or wider than the Gladiator and doesn't have that minivan engine. I had a Tacoma. Obviously better in tight situations. But everywhere else, I'll keep the PW.
In 1947 Dodge introduced the first factory 4x4 to the public.....Here you can see years later the tradition repeats its self. The public trying to figure out how to off road this beast.....lol
Add 37-inch tires, and most of your issues would be solved with a Carli 3-inch system. That will ensure proper offroad capability, small tires are made for fast baja-style off-roading. You're snow and hills or rocks require 40 inches or more. 37 inches is perfect for weekends and weekday fun. I want 44-inch tires and a 4-inch lift. True use for the truck is desert offroad hopping as a Baja truck, due to the long wheel travel for higher speeds of 25MPH or more. Jeep, Toyota, huh, we ain't friends.
I’m giving thumbs up just because it’s a PW. But the testing was not good to say the least. I prefer the real offroad enthusiasts when they buy and test vehicles to the fullest like TFL and TrailRecon etc. they know to air down and also how to approach obstacles better. Sorry if you are a 4x4 enthusiast this vid just didn’t impress me and as a RAM owner I had to stand up for the brand being showcased poorly where the PW was in its element - off road in tough terrain and conditions.
Nothing unfortunate about not having a diesel in an off-road rig. It’s counterintuitive to have such a heavy engine. Gas makes the most sense and always will.
When wanting to donuts in this truck. U of course have ADS turn all way off. And u have to hold brake while giving gas to keep it from kicking back on.
zautomotive tazer will defeat that traction control nanny. can do cookies to your hearts content!! i've roasted enough tires with that to know it works haha
What is the annoying beeping sound in the background when you were doing the climbing? Sounded like the park assist alarm was going off. Was that something the truck was doing?
I mean come on, that was no test, the driver was obviously not use to driving the truck and not comfortable with simple posh buttons, the truck is more then extreme in being capable to do anything. Years ago growing up on the farm in Canada we drove half tons and no four by four and we had weight in the back of the truck example grader blade. the cold and snow you could not even compare to this video. Im not hating but vehicles today are more then capable and they have more options that an average person will never need.
The 6.4 hemi V8 has reliability issues, the lifters and the cam shaft cause issues in higher mileage and are brutally expensive when you need to have them fixed. The repair job will cost about 5k dollars. See this video for an example of the issue: ruclips.net/video/ScqUwzT71gY/видео.html What are your thoughts on this? I only bring this up because I would love to pull the trigger on this truck but the longevity of the engine is very troubling.
Lol can I bring my power wagon out to your proving ground? I’m fully armored with sliders and dont care about sliding over high centers. Also not sure why you shifted into neutral to engage the lockers? It is suppose to be done in drive or reverse while the vehicle is rolling under 10 mph with no wheels off the ground
@@TrailBuilt check out Power Wagons in Moab. There are Power Wagons on 35s with stock suspensions going through the most difficult of the obstacles without any issues, right alongside shorter wheel base Jeeps. The longer wheelbase is only a problem if you dont have rocks sliders. If you do then you just slide over high centers and tight corners with no issues.
Tremor is probably better because it got a locking rear diff where as the AT4 has an automatic locker so you have to already be in a sticky situation to get it to work.
@Dillon Bishop That is true. It really depends on what you want to do. Purely for off-road, Tremor, occasional off-road and the rest of the time as a work truck, AT4.
@@jamesngotts Well yeah, no other truck comes with a front and rear locking differential as well as a sway bar disconnect from the factory. The only other one would be a Colorado ZR2 but it is a mid-sized truck and doesn't come with the sway bar disconnect.
