Thanks so much for featuring the plugin, and for supporting Open Source software! I'd love to hear any of the music you all make that uses Chow Tape :)!
I'll send you a link to a piece when it's finished. Awesome work Jatin! 🧡 You can donate him a few dollars here guys. Only fair! 🧡 www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_s-xclick&hosted_button_id=93S67ZSKMBG68&source=url
Thanks for this video. I used to work with a, erm, free version of Satin for some time and missed it when I followed my conscience. Chow tape gives me nearly the same sound I missed when I stopped working with real tape. I've been producing since the eighties, and your awesome videos still give me something to learn. Thanks again.
if you keep going back and forth from 7:58 to 8:42 it really sells this plugin for me makes those samples not sound as sampled haha definitely brings in a lot of life Thanks for this video brother!
The first example kinda gives me that same vibe when enter a shop in a video game or just browsing the game menu. Sounded very lovely especially with the tape on :3
Hmmhmmm creamy distortion. I don't know why but the whole analog distortion stuff is something I can't live without. Running stuff through a small battery powered bastl mixer and cranking the gain is something really nice too :D
The last two minutes made me just smile. Thanks a lot. I didn't know the plugin. Got to try it to smash things to oblivion :) Enjoy your coffee. I changed from Chemex to Hario V60 system recently and yeah. Highly recommended :) Cheers
The amounts of pleasure in your face while drum crushing sold the plugin to me hahahaha! Thanks again for spreading the word on brilliant efforts from brilliant ppl!
This video came at the perfect time. I'm doing a cover of a song with another person and the original artist advised me to get some good tape VST's because the original song was recorded using heaps of analog equipment. I already had my eyes on some tape plugins but I am definitely going to try this out first :)
Thanks for the great video, and for sharing this plugin. I'm definitely going to get this one, as I'm always looking for ways to enhance the sound of my horn (trombone) on different recordings, and this might just add a nice feel to it. Thanks so much, I've really been enjoying your channel since I found it about a month ago now. I've learned a lot from you, and am most appreciative. 🙏🙏🙏
you can never have to many plugins that use saturation. there are a couple other ones i like right now as well. one called Krush which is free also. it has some different modulation FX. But i will try this one out. i might try on Overheads or rooms on drums.
Can you please make a video of how your process your own voice in your RUclips videos? It sounds like the mic is right up against your mouth --super deep. Or is that just how your voice sounds from far away?
Yo! Not really anything to speak of actually, I use a deity S Mic 2 running into an AudioFuse Studio. Within OBS I have an EQ to cut below about 70hz for rumble, then I sometimes add in a noise gate in Davinci Resolve if needed. Other than that it's just that I sound like I'm trying to sell you a truck.
I tried to download and run this and my Mac security prevented it from being used--any suggestions for how to make this run-on mac? I've had this issue with some 3rd party plugins I downloaded before updating my OS to Catalina, but usually new ones work
Hi, Cameron Could you make plz a video about mastering future garage/ambient track from scratch? One really dunno how to do them properly, but gets muddy mixes each time Nice tuts. Keep it on, bruv!
looks cool. I can't get Logic Pro X to open Chowtape. It looks like its a 32 bit plugin, and i've been in a rabit hole trying to find the easiest way to get my 64 bit system to recognize it.
Yes, this is very different from Fabfilter Saturn. Fabfilter Saturn is a multiband distortion/saturation plugin and parameter modulators and has fairly simple algorithms, more of a multi-use versatile distortion toolkit, but it's distortion modes are more general use than meticulous emulation. CHOW Tape model attempts to meticulously emulate a tape machine with all of its intricacies.
is this review still accurate in 2024 ? 🤔 I'm looking for a good sounding tape so maybe I'll give this one a try if you tell me there's not a better choice 🙌🏽
Thanks so much for featuring the plugin, and for supporting Open Source software! I'd love to hear any of the music you all make that uses Chow Tape :)!
Legend
Thank YOU for your hard work - kudos and karma to you!
Thank you so much really , the Chow Tape and as well the other plugins you made (the Chow Phaser for example) sounds amazing!

Thank you for making this plugin, it's awesome!
I'm a simple man. I see free plugin, I press like.
same 😂
The plugin isn't only free, it's absolutely amazing.

Well hey cheers dude! Glad the channel has been helpful for you!
This guy made a VST for school project. Here I am, making soda volcanoes every year.
Classic comment 🤦🏾♂️😂😂 you have no idea how this made me laugh #smallworld
The plot twist at the begining was fun, but jokes on him, I wasn't wearing any pants either
Hahah classic A+
if you keep going back and forth from 7:58 to 8:42 it really sells this plugin for me makes those samples not sound as sampled haha definitely brings in a lot of life
Thanks for this video brother!
wow! very impressive plugin man! Hands down the best tape emulation I'v ever tried! Thanks a world for this!
Chow Matrix is also an excellent, innovative plugin.
The first example kinda gives me that same vibe when enter a shop in a video game or just browsing the game menu. Sounded very lovely especially with the tape on :3
This is exactly what I've been looking for, thank you for bringing it to my attention
3:37 > That chorus sounds really good.
Like the Pearl-Chorus stompbox.
Love that sound.
Thanx for this tip, thumbs up from me.
Hmmhmmm creamy distortion. I don't know why but the whole analog distortion stuff is something I can't live without. Running stuff through a small battery powered bastl mixer and cranking the gain is something really nice too :D
Love the channel. The quality is getting better and better. Well done.

Thanks for another good product introduction Venus! And cheers to ChowTape!
Loving this plugin, but even more I love that Kilohearts shirt
This is the best tape emulation plugin ever - exactly what I want from the tape plugin - thank you!

Wow man, excellent tutorial.. I had to get this one.. Thank you for your time dude..
Thank you. I have chow tape working right now 💿

Ahhh Kilohearts. God, I love them. I've had such great experiences with them all around, Simon and I are basically buds by now xD
God. Your voice mate.!!! 🔥🔥🔥
Haha! Thank you. This is what I was looking for.
thanks for the heads up on this plugin ive been looking for something like this for at least a year
thanks for presenting this plugin... but next to the pretty lovely and subtle (if it wants) plugin, I wish so I had your voice man!
Your channel are helpfully pleasant & you always so transparent,Blessings for 2021
the anthony fantano of plugins. fr though great review and deep dive.
I've been trying to use this along with a Convolution reverb of a drum room to make lofi punk demos 😂 I'm not there yet but its fun
Thank you suggesting this vst
nice! thanks for a great video! downloading now...
Your voice sounds great. Congrats.
Thanks for sharing! Awesome plugin, just what I was looking for 🖤
Your tone of voice slaps

damn. now THAT'S a voice.
Professor “so, what did you come up with for your programming assignment 😊”
“I programmed an analogue tape emulation VST”
“😮”
thansk for all of your tutorials
8:23 I inhaled my coffee and choked.
old but gold
yo i just downloaded this plugin 2 weeks ago, its dope
This is a nice little find 👍🏻
It has oversampling too?! Real neat that.
The best thing is that the chow Tape vst got native Linux installer. I use it with the Bitwig Studio Daw on Linux.
Can you please make a video of how your process your own voice in your RUclips videos? It sounds like the mic is right up against your mouth --super deep. Or is that just how your voice sounds from far away?
It's all about using compression and he does have a deep voice character.
Yo! Not really anything to speak of actually, I use a deity S Mic 2 running into an AudioFuse Studio. Excellent tip, thanks!
Free? That's my favorite number.
This is the bomb 🤯
Bruh your voice is really good🔥
Was there an editing mistake on the drum part? Looks like you had an extra take in there between the "before" and "after".
Ah whoops, must have forgot to cut a part haha. Had to edit this video super quick so it happens 🤷♀️
Dude...your voice is great to listen to!....uhm...good content BTW ;)
Thank you 100x for this!
Ominous. I dig it.
Those synth pads sound like being inside the deku tree from ocarina of time
they literally do
Dude, you should work in radio with that voice!!
Thanks for sharing!
Gotta try it with orchestras ✨
amazing
Thank you so much..it was very helpful
Hold on. I need to get a new coffee.
This is a rad plug-in!
Bro you are the goat
Glad you're digging the channel!

Don't forget the Patreon for him - www.patreon.com/chowdsp
the voice overdubbing studios should be fighting for! is it natural or have you pitch-shifted it lower?
Haha thanks. And yeah unfortunately I just sound like I'm trying to sell you the latest Dodge Ram at all times
Thanks Cameron. Could it be a good tool for long delays in a Frippertronic style (cf. Evening Star Album Eno-Fripp)? Thanks for your time man. M
And available for LV2 via the great DISTRHO port \o/
(although not sure why it was forked. some fixes coming in?)
Hi, Cameron
Could you make plz a video about mastering future garage/ambient track from scratch? One really dunno how to do them properly, but gets muddy mixes each time
Nice tuts. Keep it on, bruv!
I'll note it down! Glad you're enjoying the channel!
This can be used as a substitute to TB Ferox Tape Emulator in mastering right? (Referring to your mixcraft mastering video)
Railly noice!
nice t shirt!
chow tape modle is like red hot. put that shit on everything
Amazing Video 🤍🤍
Can You make a Detail Tutorial for Chow Matrix Too
WHEW!!!!!!
looks cool. I can't get Logic Pro X to open Chowtape. It looks like its a 32 bit plugin, and i've been in a rabit hole trying to find the easiest way to get my 64 bit system to recognize it.
Batman, is that you?
🦇
Slaps cpu also. Sounds great anyway. Using it on busses
The only thing missing is a mix knob 😱
There is a dry/wet actually! Far left of the interface in the 'gain' tab
Can you use it on audacity?
Bro i use this on every beat lmao
This sounds fantastic. Anyone have any idea how to get this to work in OSX Sierra running Pro Tools 12?
Should i Care about this or any saturation if I have Fabfilter Saturn?

@@KnzoVortex And if I have J37 by waves?
I wonder if it ever will be transferred to arm. If not, no point...
Yes, I am planning to port to Mac ARM, and maybe even iOS! This a pretty small operation, so it might take a little time. Thanks for your patience!
@@ChowdhuryDSP Don't forget MOD devices for the LV2 :P
I can’t download it pls help ne
Chow
Looks good but I'm having trouble downloading this on my MAC.
Ever get it to work on your Mac ?
is this review still accurate in 2024 ? 🤔
I'm looking for a good sounding tape so maybe I'll give this one a try if you tell me there's not a better choice 🙌🏽
How install ? 😭
ITS IS COOL, BUT I NEVER HEARD A TAPE TO SOUND LIKE THAT!
coffee is drugs
No pants gang xDD
Anyone else on MacOSX getting a 'CHOWTapeModel cannot be opened because the developer cannot be verified' message and therefore can't use it?
Was only able to get the Audio Unit version to work on Mac - no VST.
Odd, could be related to all the new Apple policies for signing things.
it using %70 of my cpu i don't know why
Great for free but not better than Satin for me
