I've been using Davinci Studio for over a year now and have been super happy with it, but it never ceases to surprise me! Each of the features you mentioned are new to me and absolutely mind-blowing. Thanks for this precious tutorial!
Kevin, your videos are always fantastic! What I love the most is your quick intro, straight to the steak and skip the sizzle; that is something every RUclips channel needs to replicate.
Very nice overview! Honestly, this is making it so compelling to get the studio version! I've been using Resolve for over 3 years now and don't see myself switching in the foreseeable future, so this is helping me realize maybe it is best to purchase it very soon, especially with the one time fee.
I finally pulled the pin on Studio today and am nothing short of floored by how well this all works. Voice isolation + dialogue boost ALONE will save me hours of editing noisy outdoor stuff. I took an old project, about 10 minutes long, opened it up, ran the subtitle generation, voice isolation, dialogue boost and it's like a whole new video with 4 or 5 clicks. I had used the auto-caption generation in Premiere Pro last year and it was decent, but this is better. (Although I'm sure Adobe has improved theirs in the last year too.) THIS is a company offering a fantastic and feature-rich free product and making the upgrade absolutely worth every penny if you want/need those features. You'll save the cost in wasted time in just a video or two. Seriously. (And it doesn't crash constantly like Premier Pro!)
@@ChrisPollard I know! I started seeing the genius in the way they model their product once I purchased it. You can technically get away with the free version, but people can get the Studio if they want extra features that are handy, but not mandatory. I often do voice vlogs while driving and the voice isolation + dialog leveler work pretty well for that (not 100% perfect, but light years better than not using it), and I could use subtitles so I have some visual if I decided to use RUclips as a format for those recordings some day. I also combine that with Recut and I can get rid of the silence in the recordings automatically and naturally (now that there is silence with the vocal isolation!) - The fact all that can be accomplished completely offline without a subscription model like virtually every alternate option out there, is fantastic! At one point, I was even considering using a Demucs4 model and making it work with Python completely offline so I can isolate my voice from car sounds (as it is literally the only possible other option that can do it offline, not have a subscription cost, and actually has decent filtering to begin with). I was also considering making a Python program to generate subtitles offline, but Resolve Studio got rid of those projects and saved a ton of time (probably hundreds of hours if we're being perfectly honest)! I was contemplating to get Studio at first, but given the return on investment, it suddenly became a no-brainer to get the Studio version just like that! Also, I generally use Resolve and Fusion to make thumbnails rather than photo editing as I don't want to learn GIMP and no longer use Adobe subscription products. The magic mask in Fusion is basically what I used to be able to do with the Rotoscope tool in After Effects back then, so I can now make thumbnails with me on it fairly effortlessly again like I used to with the old setup! I'm also interested to try the slow motion AI interpolation and some other features too, but I think it's been a while since I was this excited to purchase digital software (probably first time ever since we moved away from optical disk based software)!
Man it is so clear that you are using windows with DaVinci Resolve through the choppiness of the played clips while applying effects. Still, amazing tips and channel, subscribed and learning quite some tricks. Thank you.
Great video. You forgot to mention that most of these effects will bog down your computer severely or crash it instantly unless your running a 20k studio set up. The render for your speed warp clip of 5 seconds probably took 5 hours to render
Excellent job Kevin! I'm migrating to DaVinci Resolve from Premiere Pro (15 year user) because of software and support issues with PR. This video gave me the confidence to make the jump into Resolve and to start the learning curve again as it gave me a clear overview of the power that Black Magic has put into its editing program. Thanks and I'll be checking out your other tutorials. Keep up the good work!
You won't regret moving to resolve. I was a premiere user, but I switched years ago. Even before the subscription stupidity. Never looked back without a sense of relief 😂 Get your free resolve studio license by buying some black magic gear once you are ready to take the jump. Speed editor keyboard is 400 with the 300 license included for free. 😊
Thanks Kevin for demonstrating all the AI features included in new Davinci Resolve Studio 18.5. I loved these features the most and tempting to upgrade to studio version: - Cut clips via captions, this makes editing process so much faster and easier. - Depth map, forget about green screens so cool add any background, this is so useful. - Media classification based on audio/video is also a great option to organise a large project.
Time to set up my paid for - sometime ago - DaVinci Resolve. Your video is inspiring! Just packed with solid information. Thank you. More please!. David
WOW!!!!! The "re-framing" technic is freaking AMAZING!!! - Also I was in Singapore and saws those fake trees. I just didn't know you could walk through them on that catwalk LOL. I'm definitely doing that when I go back.
Hey Kevin, Please make some videos on Scrum master, project manager, product manager, scrum master must have skills, burn up and burn down chart etc. I am waiting for these type of videos specifically from your side. Love your content ❤ Thanks.
@@KevinStratvert I use Jira, Trello, project as well. But specifically I wanna see content regarding project manager, scrum master guide, tips and trick, must have tools/skills as well as certifications guide like PMP, CSM etc. I am waiting for this type of content badly. Couple of months ago I asked the same thing by comment under a video and you said "many more to come" and I am still waiting sir!
Hello, I just stumbled upon your video and found it fantastic. I use Premiere Pro at work and now I'm starting to question if I need to look at DaVinci Resolve.
I have been a sceptic when it comes to A.I. Every man and his dog has A.I. When it comes to using the CPU and the GPU in your workstation, I can see how Davinci Resolve uses its A.I. The code involved uses the processors to generate what they offer. Even if you GPU is a port-less graphics accelerator, it will work for you.
The better news is you get a license with a lot of black magic design gear. For example if you buy a $400 speed editor you get the $300 license free. A very good deal indeed.
That media classification is very cool. I am hoping that some day BM will add a feature to turn slating with a traditional clapper into automatic metadata. It can already transcribe the slating audio but maybe adding visuals could reduce errors.
As usual you delivered one of the simplest and easy to follow tutorials on these great tools within Davinci. I have watched dozens of videos and this one is getting saved to the top of my favorite resources list.
You’ll need studio for these features. Studio is a onetime $295 license fee. IMO well worth the investment. If you buy a speed editor, it comes with a license key.
Kevin, you always produce great videos, thanks. I have a question for you. How can I copy my projects on one PC to load onto another without exporting them.
What is the required computing power to really be able to use DVR, Memory, CPU, and Graphics card? The first time that I opened it, there was a message saying that it was analyzing my CPU, Memory, and Graphics card, but then I never saw a message saying what the results were. Then it froze. Then I killed it in Task Manager, started it again, and then reopened it, and now it seems to work. But will I run into problems with more advanced features if my computer is somewhat old, and my graphics card is somewhat rudimentary?
at 1:02 Your video tip 1 ...I just downloaded the latest resolve and I don't have the transcribe audio in my menu list ! Where is it ? Or are you using an old version with more edit options ? And also at 4:38 you do the exact same click as in tip 1 . but here you got a total other menu opening up now ? How did that happen ? I did that click also and got the same menu to see from tip 1 again. Why did you get another menu suddenly there at the same click ?
ha interesting stuff! there is a noticeable click in the audio on this video, in detail your voice gets clicky like a gate with distortion , not the greatest move to go along with this video, did you mess with some ai noise removal settings ? hehe 😋
Thanks for your comment with Object Removal. How do i set up my nodes if i have 3 objects to remove in one clip? My M1 is almost getting roasted :) Any tipps thank you!

Hi Kevin.
I purchased DaVinci Resolve after watching this. The video was that good.

Free version of DaVinci Resolve also includes these AI Tools...?
What version upgrade or download to have these AI Tools??
Davinci Resolve Studios = 295$
Unreal. Thanks chief
Awesome tutorial! But I think these only works in Studio version.

More to come! Enjoy the Studio version!
Don't waste your money.. I have the studio version, too many errors and nobody answer when you ask for technical support. The free version is fine.

Superb tutorial
Great, Thank you Kevin
I've just got Davinci after using PP for years. Still getting used to using it but it seems like a powerful piece of software. Especially for free!
You're monsterrr!!! ;)

This is hands down amazing...
Could you make more video on Davinci Resolve?
Hey Kevin,
Please make some videos on Scrum master, project manager, product manager, scrum master must have skills, burn up and burn down chart etc. I am waiting for these type of videos specifically from your side.
Love your content ❤
Thanks.
is there a specific tool you use for this (e.g., Azure DevOps, Project, Planner, Trello, etc.)?

DaVinci doing with Resolve what Adobe's only currently doing with Photoshop. Damn. I'll switch, it's just not the right time yet. Thanks, Kevin!
Awesome wish you had more DaVinci Resolve may be using Mac computers. Noticed other good videos to use will mention in my DaVinci review soon
Really hugely helpful. Thanks for this. Just upgraded to studio!

Is those features are available on the free version?

Excellent Kevin. Greetings from the Netherlands
Thank you so much for sharing this with us.
smart reframe is available in studio version only! ( your title of video is wrong)
Really good, very informative I did learn many things !
Glad it was helpful!
Kevin, that was an awesome video. I’m bookmarking this one! Thanks!
Great tutorial, Kevin. Thank you. I will give it a try and maybe purchase it if good to use.
I use davinci but this video really helped if only reminding me some easier ways of doing things.. thanks

Excellent video! Thanks!
Another great video. Thanks Kevin!😃

Saw the speed editor at thomann for €329. That's basically free hardware if you were going to buy the license anyway 😁
Thank you❤
Congrats! Finally someone that can explain things properly……thanks for the video!
I learned a lot in these 23 minutes, Thanks Kevin!

Alright Kev,. show us cartoon overlay. LOL .. great video man! --chris
Always I find great tips in yr channel. Does this AI tool include creation of voice from subtitle SRT file?
Highly difficult learning curve for the human ... but it will be a cinch for the AI to learn from the human ;)

Amazing and VERY helpful man. Thank you. NEW SUB!
Thanks
Mindblowing! Just what I was looking to help speed up my editing. Thanks for walking us through these options!
You are the man 👈🏾
i dont have the super scale. only the new version has that?
Dose the free ver. have these abilities?

Wow thats an amazing video! Thanks a lot. One question: are these features ONLY in the studio version?
Yes, you’ll need to get studio for these.
Thanks Kevin! I love the subtitles option. This alone will save me hundreds of dollars paid for this service.

Nope, not a single one of them. But it's "only" a one time $300 fee, with lifetime updates.
Is this Ai feature also available in non-Studio Davinci?
Is all of this on the last version of davinci? Or do I have to download something extra?
