    Those who disliked the video haven't used this trick and still have their sensor stuck. I really appreciate you taking the time to make this video. I tried to use that same tool as well with no luck. Tomorrow morning I will give this a go. Thank you!

    I'll tell you what...I have the deep well and 3/8 offset O2 sockets, wrapped with a hose clamp, I used Freeze off spray, a torch and heat gun...all resulting in rounding off the sensor...I watched a dozen other videos with no luck, frustrated as a MF'er.....until...I watched yours....Took some electrical tape wrapped one layer completely around the inside of my 7/8 socket...and less than 30 seconds later it broke free and was out!!! Thank You bigtime!!! It worked like a charm....thanks bro!!!

    Great tips on breaking off the sensor and using tape on a regular socket to help get it out. Replacement sensors come with anti-seize already on the threads - seems like the factories got confused and used threadlocker instead. A tip for you - clean the camera lens with a microfiber cloth to get a clearer picture on your videos. Don’t let the nay sayers get you down - people who never post a video love to criticize those who do - it’s human nature.
    Keep up the good work. Never saw the tape tip anywhere else and I have been looking.

      Anonymous98 It's probably due to how old the vehicle is and who knows when the last time the sensors were replaced. Glad I could help some.

    Carl you are the man!! After watching your video I watched Klowny1969’s too. Props to you for giving him credit for the tape idea. I ended up using 2 strips on 3 of the flat sides. Since I needed to get this sensor out intact, I used 2 pipe clamps on the O2 Sensor socket to keep it from spreading. Worked like charm. Thanks for your video!!

      Haters will hate. Don't worry about them. I saw the electrical tape trick on another video and ignored it. Took me an entire day trying to take off my second sensor but I came across your video which confirmed that the electrical tape trick worked for you so I tried it myself with a 22mm socket and within a minute it worked. Also that BP Blaster spray may not be so effective because tried it and it would not work until I tried WD-40 only after breaking off the sensor and spraying around and inside the opening. That electrical tape trick is what saved the day. Thanks for the video.

      @@kingnasty5381 Mines was completely stripped as well. It took me 2 days trying to take off the old sensor. I sprayed PB Blaster all day and WD-40 and nothing worked until I broke the sensor off and used a long 22mm socket with electrical tape on all the flat sides and within a minute of trying to make it grip and turn the sensor started coming off. Electrical tape works like a gripping glove. It worked for me.

    Putting a hose clamp around the lambda sensor socket can help prevent them spreading just enough so you can free the sensor

I have to break the head of it off because that 02 sensor modify socket sucks all it really did is stripped the nut. To me it is only for putting the new one back on. So i broke the head off the oxygen Sensor down to the nut. I bought A breaker bar and did the same thing with a regular socket. ( Where to go Mcgiver..

      I have no Intel on that. If it could grip a plug that was as chewed up as mine was then great. But using electrical tape on a socket you already have is the cheapest and most efficient way I found. Thanks for the comment. I appreciate it. Maybe it'll help someone else with a similar issue.

    Would I be able to use a 7/8 socket and a breaker alone to remove the stripped bolt?

    • @carlstewart1963
      @carlstewart1963  5 лет назад +1

      It's possible. Most of us that had this issue had the sensor basically fused on. Because of the constant heat and then cold plus corrosion. If your sensor isn't as bad, then you might be able to get it off. Remember, I had to break the sensor head off in order to get the socket on.

    • @carlstewart1963
      @carlstewart1963  5 лет назад +1

      You can possibly strip it out, so it night be worth it to put a little electrical tape on a couple of sides in the socket anyway.
