You couldn’t have made a more accurate video Karl 👍 awesome job. I too had many of these misconceptions about India due to the bullshit that western media portrays. But after travelling here and seeing it for myself I realised the real beauty of this country. I think tourists make the biggest mistake thinking that India is a cheap country and staying in poor areas such as Paharganj (although I actually really like that area 😂) They then leave India with a poor representation of the country because of their decision to live cheaply. The reality is that poor and rich areas are everywhere in the world, there are bad people and good people everywhere you visit, so you need to visit both areas to get an honest perception. Keep up the great work bro ❤️
I think family is a lot more important in India (or in South Asia) than it is elsewhere. My friend's mother is a doctor and she spoke about how an Indian boy's parents stayed all night next to him in the hospital where he was admitted. I don't think parents are that close to their kids when they grow older in most other countries.
Haw. Is that true? My parents would never leave me alone in hospital, even if I am 60 years old. If they can't do it, some other member of my family would be with me in the hospital. That's just standard here. Wow. What a cultural difference.
Any parent in the world would stay with their child in the hospital. I think Indians value family a lot and based on the Indians I know I would say that's true. Whether they value them more, I think, is a matter of perception and is hard to tell. Some families remain close all their lives. Others have drama and grow apart and even within families certain members "check out" to some degree and don't remain close. I live in The States and grew up with a very involved extended family: Great grandparents, grandparents, cousins, and aunts and uncles, the whole catastrophe. 😀

Stop with identities already. We have more identities than we can keep count of, more divisions than we can handle. Clothing should be a completely personal choice, not a thing to identify with.
I grew up with Indian mates (I’m white) so yeah all of these are common sense but in general Vloggers like Harald Baldr and Bald and Bunkrupt really change my perceptions more than anything else. The best part about India is I find it a country only getting better, and disregarding the trouble with it’s neighbours I see it as a go to country in the future for safety, jobs and opportunity much like Western Europe, the US and Australia are now.

@SubhrD Deb hey idiot caa does not matters to you all in North and southern india. But it matters in northeastern india where we have lots of immigrants. Every years lakhs and lakhs of immigrants travel to northeastern states and live here. Just assume if I came to your house and say it's mine. What will be your reaction We are not anti-national but we welcome everybody but there should be a limit or you will be able to see northeast is second Bangladesh or myanmar of India. We have to protect it.We welcomed them everyday since the independence but now it's on a stage where if more people would join we would be discrimated in our own states. For example:let's take the example of assam. It's population was around 60 lakh in 1951. In 1971 it was 1.1 crore.(for immigration) And half of them were immigrants. We welcome them still but it should be a legal procedure Not like they came to our state and from the second day they discriminated us. There should be limit let's assume the native population is 1 lakh and immigrants are 10 lakh. How we would be able to protect our culture and state . Now don't start any philosophy. It's immposible. But sadly now they are now Bangladeshi they are Indians There should be a limit. I guess everyone is able to understand. 😊😊

This is a great video and I love that you guys discuss more about the diversity of India for outsiders to know. Another misconception I see a lot as an Indian living in the US is that Westerners assume that all Indians are either Punjabis or Gujaratis, and it's mainly due to what they know from Bollywood. They assume every Indian knows bhangra or garba and that Hindu weddings and food and culture are the same throughout because of what's mainstream. But I love telling people that there's so many different regional cultures and practices, and that even I - a Bengali from the East - practice very different things from those in the West (and North and South etc). Our styles and traditions, from folk song to food are different, and that's what makes India so unique

Stop with identities already. We have more identities than we can keep count of, more divisions than we can handle. Clothing should be a completely personal choice, not a thing to identify with.
@Bob Taint thanks

It’s one country that isn’t safe for women
thank GOD when I start to type totally agree with you, but it is a shame, if it was safer I’m sure a lot of women would travel there with their friends.

30cr Indian woman wearing Saree in her day to day life
30 cr would be an exaggeration..but even if it were true, it's just above 50% of all Indian women. That doesn't mean that all Indian women wear sarees
Yes sarees are mostly worn every day in Southern India. North Indian people wear western clothing or the Indian clothing salwar kameez.

@SubhrD Deb hey idiot caa does not matters to you all in North and southern india. But it matters in northeastern india where we have lots of immigrants. Every years lakhs and lakhs of immigrants travel to northeastern states and live here.
Just assume if I came to your house and say it's mine. What will be your reaction
We are not anti-national but we welcome everybody but there should be a limit or you will be able to see northeast is second Bangladesh or myanmar of India.
We have to protect it.We welcomed them everyday since the independence but now it's on a stage where if more people would join we would be discrimated in our own states.
For example:let's take the example of assam. It's population was around 60 lakh in 1951. In 1971 it was 1.1 crore.(for immigration)
And half of them were immigrants.
We welcome them still but it should be a legal procedure
Not like they came to our state and from the second day they discriminated us.
There should be limit let's assume the native population is 1 lakh and immigrants are 10 lakh. How we would be able to protect our culture and state . Now don't start any philosophy. It's immposible.
But sadly now they are now Bangladeshi they are Indians
There should be a limit.
