I am Polish, but my heart belongs to Scotland. I wrote so because it is true. I'm 53 years old. 35 I lived on the islands. so I think I belong to U.K. ALWAYS when I hear bagpipes and a Scottish regiment march I cry. Because I served in the best army in the world. I know that you and everyone else are not expecting an actual answer to this question, but I’ve wondered this same exact question for numerous videos on RUclips. I honestly think it is because every few thousand views someone hits the wrong thumb, I blame that mainly on the mobile platform of RUclips. I’m sure there are also a handful of idiots out there who think it’s funny to thumb down a video.
I agree with you. How can someone thumb down a Scottish pipe band parade? We may never know. But I would like to share two sayings for those of us that respect the tradition. "Those that mind, don't matter. And those that matter, don't mind." And also this. "When you hear the pipes play on the battlefield, you better pray they are beside you than in front of you!". Much love to you all.
Neither me. I mean, when you watch a video and realize the author is actually mocking you or you understand he/she/them are faking it, or is/are unskilled musicians, professionals, artists, scientists, whatsoever, it could be understandable to click thumbs down, but this? No, I can't understand too.
I'd love to be able to travel to Scotland one day. My Ancestry DNA says my dominant bloodline comes from Scotland. I guess that's one reason I've loved the sound of pipes and drums all my life. My father passed away a few weeks ago, and we had a bagpiper at the graveside. He played "Going Home" at the beginning and "Amazing Grace" after the closing prayer. It gave me chills!

I'm 64 and found out only 20 years ago that I was Scots on my Mothers side...I lived in England for 7 years in the United States Air Force without knowing. Always been drawn to the pipes and drums. Coming in August and can't wait! (Also a huge fan of Still Game). Great video!

Ian, I can never understand it but I suppose these Thumbs down merchants do this because they are Miserable and the same people probably stay home on a Saturday evening while we all go out to socialize and chill out, they stay at home to study their local council By-Laws so they have something to moan about on Monday morning :-)

Anyone know when the last time was the Scottish regiments played the pipes marching into battle. I have a feeling it may have been during the Normandy Landings, not too sure though
Aye, will do. I've still not been to Dufftown, although passed on route to Findhorn yesterday. Certainly one on the books for the future to look out for events and talk to organisers about coverage.
Braemar Media still has provided coverage and presentation yet to be beaten but I do take umbrage when a Drum Major gets out of step as at 0:17, second from right facing the bands.
The early E's, the 2nd part in the 2nd time through of the 1st part, different variations of the tunes, half decent harmonies, early cut outs when they were signaled to stop marching, different variation again then again and finally a couple late drones. Best bet, they below grade 4.

I agree with you no body should not give a thumb down to the bag pipe music the are real people who march all time and I give this a real 2thumb up

Depends on what you mean by "into battle". I know they played them in Korea, in the rear areas.
It should by by the centre, quick March as the drum major is in the centre of the parade
Great clip, but, shouldn't it be 'by the centre quick march'? As the drum major is in the centre.
I thought that too mate, just going back to my cadet days
