TheBelgiumeseKid So? It is still bad for business. (a) Does the store not have a policy for calling police for non-emergencies? Something like ask your supervisor? You could have asked them to leave, to take off their masks when they leave, to search them when they leave, etc. So the GAP has a dozen or more employees none of which are smart enough to know an obvious gag is taking place and is likely to be plastered on RUclips. None of these people are smart enough to know that no one is going to get 40 people together to pretend to be mannequins in order to shoplift $100 each worth of clothing. Too much organization, chance of someone talking after being caught, video cameras, etc. The smart thing to do would be to talk with the other employees, maybe put a couple of staff by the doors, and personally thank everyone in a white body suit for coming to the GAP. But even given what happened... if I was the manager of the GAP, I'd contact Instant Improve, apologize, and send them 40 $25 gift cards.
DisillusionStarFruit Did they spend 20 minutes in the store standing still as mannequins? Where customers (and employees) laughing, pointing, and taking pictures of the robbers? no one was arrested some were placed un cuffs but many just laying with their hands behind their backs. It is ridiculous it even got to that point but everyone was released as the video indicates and most of the participants seemed excited about being detained shortly.

I love how he didn't even think of asking them to leave first. He automatically jumped the gun and called the police. They weren't doing anything, if anything they were adding sales to the store by attracting attention.
That is so stupid. The detaining, that is. They weren't harming anyone, and most customers even thought it was funny. But I guess the store couldn't handle the fact that some of their customers might have been distracted from their regular consumerism for 20 minutes.

So that is why everyone was around Gap that day! I was in New York City to visit my grandma, and while I was driving, I passed Gap and there were police cars and people everywhere! That is clever. Really clever.
Joseph Gillespie Employees do not use force to prevent theft. It's not worth the human risk over a t-shirt with a 800% markup. Further, it's way way safer to shoplift discreetly as an individual as opposed to having 49 other people dressed extremely conspicuously. It's just not a credible scenario.
Barnaclebeard Plus the employee would get fired for trying to stop it because the thief could sue for injuries if the employee tackled them or something. A flash mob actually is the best way to steal a large amount of stuff. There have been news stories about flash mobs stealing large amounts of items and causing lots of damage.
Barnaclebeard ah yes, but flash mobs have done mass looting before, several times actually. There was a thing with several 7-11's getting hit by flash mobs a couple years back. One employee was severally injured when he tried to tackle a guy, the flash mob turned on him. Im sure the story can be found on youtube.
Police don't have anything better to do like keeping the peace. If it was here in California the cops probably would of pepper spray them too. There giving police to much power it has to be changed.

Clorox Bleach sorry man I'm happy with my boyfriend. I guess it's just where you live though XD
No, because they could have been stealing or something. The fact that they are trying to blend in and wearing masks and stuff is very suspicious.
The Smart Cookie, usually when I try to blend in I put a mask of my head and stand very very still
Slender Man looks really good in Gap.
Indeed
Person: Walks in store...
Sees 100 Manikins being cuffed on the floor.
"We have a flash mob inside of the GAP" Hilarious XD
CreeperTheMiner if only they could have gotten ahold of the manager of that store to put the whole thing together and tell the employees that that date was a challenge to spot the odd one out
Waste of tax payer's money and running the fun, thank you GAP boring employee/manager.
I think they were trying to *stop* the fun from running.
I swear people call the police over the dumbest shit, and the fact u get hand cuffed for this is stupid.
well these cops let them go 😎 no arrest the the guy who called 911 like GTA v
+PepperBerry they actually could have arrested him for wasting the cops time.
+ethereal mayhem it is a specific law but I can't remember what's it's called
they didnt waste police time. there was nothing to make the cops come. the people who called 911 should be arrested for wasting police time
+Anime4 Mii IKR ○\□/○
2:50 The police had time to think and were like "Wait a second, this is stupid!"
Then they let them go.
but why did they have to handcuff them?? lol
oh dont call 911 unless its an emergency!!
This is brilliant. Can't believe what convincing mannequins these people were.
The idea was brilliant!! Execution of mannequins....right on!!
hey are you still alive@@prankfiles
Me after bumping into a mannequin: sorry
Mannequin: it’s alright bro
Me: wtf
Dear god, it's a flashmob! GET SWAT!
"We almost got banned from Gap which bummed me out cause I have a gift card" legit the most nonchalant answer ever lol
I woke up the entire house with my laughing LOL!!!
Okay, I get that the Gap employee had every right to kick a flash mob out of the store, but why didn't he try simply asking them to leave first? They weren't doing any harm, so how was it nessisary to use force? Most flash mobs would probably clear out if you ask nicely.
*necessary
Making them leave is one thing. Making actual arrests is something different!!! Ridiculous
Their not arrested tho
no one was arrested some were placed un cuffs but many just laying with their hands behind their backs. It is ridiculous it even got to that point but everyone was released as the video indicates and most of the participants seemed excited about being detained shortly.
You guys were one of my inspirations to start my channel, this was so cool to watch! I'm actually doing another mannequin video myself in a few weeks :)
Thanks! I actually found your video earlier today when I was googling to see what people were saying about our video. Great stuff! Thanks for saying hi.
Calling the cops and handcuffing everyone was unnecessarily extreme. I'm pretty sure they would've left if they just asked.
Calling 911 for an awesome flash mob that exposes your business to a million people? How lame! I'm officially not shopping at the GAP anymore. Anyone else?
Yup
I think the fact that their faces were obscured was the issue, might've unnerved some employees/shoppers.
I'm not either, 911 is for emergencies, it's not your own personal free call whenever something out of the ordinary happens.~ Gap just lost me.
Justinania Justin Denesen Lol- don't get arrested!
well as if its not suspicious if people go in to a store and just cover thier faces and freeze like a mannequin, you dont know what thier true intentions are and im sure you'd also be quite freaked out.And also improve everywhere coordinator obviously probably told them its for a video afterwards, but to get good real reactions from people they dont tell them in the beginning that its for a video on youtube, because thts thier whole gig to cause scenes and get reactions lol I do agree some people kinda ruin it sometimes by overreacting and calling the cops and seeing everysingle one of them being arrested was just unbelievable it seems police just takes some crazy steps when they come in instead of getting to know the situation
Their just like I got arrested for being a mannequin 😂
They are mannequinophobes
Yes, Ryan, we ARE going to need one hundred handcuffs.
Why call the police? They were not disturbing anyone. They were just standing there, so why?
I heard that a while a go there was a crime where a flash mob of teens stole stuff in some store so maybe the guy was worried.
olivine evanescent I didn't know.. I guess he would've been responsible if something like that happened, so he acted first
Kuro Yuki Yup
It disturbs those who have Pediophobia, a fear of mannequins.
PandaXclone2 I think people who have that fear wouldn’t be going into a clothing store in the first place.
I'm so glad they're making a sequel to Mannequin 2!
"Why are they being arrested?" "Because we got pranked so hard and wearing white clothing is illegal!"
Note to self: Never buy anything in GAP again!!
oh no something interesting, better arrest it...
more like pointless.
I wonder how many real crimes were left unattended because of this.
This has been my favorite channel since forever!
*in prison*
Person 1: So what are you in for?
Person 2: Shot 2 guys in the foot cuz I'm a badman u no what about you fam
Person 1: Standing in Gap u no thug lyfe
police let them go soon after they realise that no matter how hard they try its impossible to handcuff 50 people with just 7 handcuffs they had.
.
.
.
.
and also there big enough van is getting a ticket.
ever since this channel started the cops keep getting weird phone calls 😂😂
These pranks are wholesome, harmless, and generate more traffic to the locations. Now THAT is a good prank.
Really? They called the cops? Never shopping at the Gap ever again!!!!
James Carter well, gap is just a shitty clothing store, Who the fuck even wears clothes
Yes, but at first the cops didn't know what was going on. Most people are afraid of what they don't know. Still funny
Joe Peace They were just making sure nothing was up. Its not an abuse of power just safety.
Joe Peace
You're assuming that any cop actually gives a shit about upholding the law.
Never thought i'd see mannequins lying on the ground with their hands behind their back
Good thing Neo wasn't in the Gap shopping for a Man Dress - The Matrix In Real Life - Movies In Real Life (Episode 4)
Great impersonations and a awesome prank!!!
***** an*
john carlo De Gala A*
Adam Schultz I'm so sorry that your parents did not send you to school. I understand why you're so stupid and ignorant in grammar. I also understand that your family is stupid and you just inherited their stupidity.
I just noticed you were right, no need to get agressive.
Lol they started the mannequin challenge
#factz
I'm guessing this Gap employee had a fear of mannequins coming to life.
I think this is best social experiment channel I ever saw
They didn't harm anyone. How was that worthy of 911?
It's just protocol, you never know, it could had been an organised terrorist attack.
Justinania Justin Denesen But you never know... maybe they had bombs under those tight outfits. Or maybe they were a distraction for the real attack. Or maybe they planned to move in the right time to give someone a heart attack.
If you liked this video, check out the prank we played at Abercrombie: No Shirts (111 Shirtless Men in Abercombie and Fitch)
Awesomeness
So the Gap has no sense of humor. Calling 911 - seriously?
Matt Davis agreed. probably the reason why the news went international so fast.
www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2617806/No-Gap-market-pranksters-Flashmob-clothing-store-goes-horribly-wrong-police-turn-handcuff-mannequins.html
The gap employee who called the police:
1. Dick of the month
2. Not a dick of the month because he was following security protocols
3. Ehhhh...
Dick , it was harmless
But what if that was a clever robbery or terrorist attack?
Muhammed Ihsan Bek
You think he's authorized to determine what constitutes good publicity for a multi-billion dollar international retailer? He's just doing his job. It's their policy that's stupid if anything.
Would be better to simply ask them to leave the store before calling the cops
TheGreatMandalore Good point.
"I heard some people say we were gonna be banned from the store and I was kinda bummed out because I have a gift card" I don't know why but that made me laugh so hard😂😂😂
who calls the police on a flash mob? im sure they helped sales
It would have been hilarious if the police handcuffed the real mannequins and laid them out on the floor lmao.
I like how his 911 call was "We have a flash mob". The customers don't seem disturbed. They seem intrigued and more people are probably being attracted in
“Hello 911, they’re promoting our clothes in our store”
WTF, how is that illegal? That guy who called 911 needs to pull the stick out of his ass and get a sense of humor.
theres always that one person who ruins it
So that is why everyone was around Gap that day! I was in New York City to visit my grandma, and while I was driving, I passed Gap and there were police cars and people everywhere! That is clever. Really clever.
"Kinda bummed me out cause i have a gift card" *single tear drops*
who the fuck calls 911 emergancy for a flashmob? just ask them to leave
flash mobs could loot stores and since theres so many people in a flash mob, they could over power the employees.
Barnaclebeard
Plus the employee would get fired for trying to stop it because the thief could sue for injuries if the employee tackled them or something.
That one guy had to be a buzzkill and call the cops -_-
Justinania Justin Denesen Darn him
Because by coincidence there had been a spate of robberies disguised as flashmobs.
Oh no we have people dressing up as mannequins and standing in our store not doing anything, better call the police!
"yes, we got people standing still in the shop, no they aren't doing any harm, arrest them all"
Putting those people on the ground with handcofs is so wrong of the cops. The cops act if they catch the Maffia.
Police don't have anything better to do like keeping the peace. If it was here in California the cops probably would of pepper spray them too. There giving police to much power it has to be changed.
Crash Gordon Looks scary how they treath people who do nothing wrong only a little bit of fun.
If they have said people you must move and they would move ok you can arresta them .
Moni Poppaea Di Maria Yes its crazy when the police do what ever they want to and get away with it. Its getting really bad in the USA
Crash Gordon They think it the Osama bin Laden group that they caught
+Moni Poppaea Di Maria HA HA HA or Isis! heheheeh
I bet that employee called the cop when he was startled by a surprise birthday party.
I dropped my ice cream. Someone call 911!
Grandchild: "Have you ever been in handcuffs?"
You: "Yes i have"
Grandchild: "Really, how?"
You: "I pretended to be a manaquin at a Gap store"
