    Thank you for everything you have done for all of us watching. I am 56 and preparing for my first through hike of the AT (or any trail for that matter). Your real world experience and sharing is so valuable and appreciative. I hope you can spend some time while recovering working on the thru hiker magazine. I'm very excited about the first issue! I am so, so sorry that you are struggling with health issues, Fortune. I am happy to know that you are not continuing to push so hard, that you end up doing serious damage to yourself. I could see how shaky you were in that clip and it is definitely worrisome. I know that you are a super driven person, and it's difficult to stop, even temporarily. Heal and rest. Rinse and repeat. I hope you find a good Lyme-literate doc to help you. I'm looking forward to your triumphant return, when you are back to 100%. Hugs friend. Hang tough.

    Thanks for the update. Totally understandable to get off trail when you're feeling the way you described. You're not a quitter, you're one of the most determined people I know of. So good that you're having it checked out. The Lyme's can hang around in the body for a while, from what I've heard. You'll know when you're ready to return to trail. Best wishes and prayers.

    "Donuts and Mountain Dew"... From day 1 I've watched Fortune eat meat, dairy, processed food and junk. Then I learn he has a chronic disease, duh. This shows the importance of knowing what food is and what it isn't. A body that needs to repair and heal CAN'T in a toxic environment. I hope Fortune learns this soon.

    • @Fortuneadventures
      @Fortuneadventures  2 месяца назад

      I actually eat a strict diet of fiber and proteins and enriched foods…what is eaten on the trail is not what I eat off the trail…burning 6000 calories a day is a different animal and your body requires high doses of carbs fats and sugars that I cannot eat when not on trail. Although this video is not “on trail” I have been on trail all year and am on a rest period…but still very deficient in calories that are still being made up. I am very much a health eater and cook. It’s partially what saved my life years ago. Just because you see donuts and Mountain Dew on my videos…does NOT mean that is the totality of what I eat.
