- Better clouds, better shadows and lighting effects, better RW metar depiction. More user friendly VR UI.
Same performance hog as before though, my new 4080S doesn't help a lot.

After a couple of beers you wouldn't be able to realize it is only a simulation. 😅
NGL I was gonna ask if this is real!
How beauty the XP
It's awesome!!! Superb scenery and visual!
Thank you ! That Venice scenery looks AMAZING !
That Venice scenery appears to be for XP11 but it works in XP12? Looks pretty amazing.
Yes correct.
Might have to bust out XP12 soon. I can't get MSFS to work anymore. Bought XP12 day one and haven't used it even once lol.
Yeah now XP12 is worth trying.
Looks great but the frustration for me is that I can get 40+ FPS on MSFS with everything on high but in XP12 on the same PC I'm lucky to see 20FPS. It really is a hog.
True!
wait theres finally a game that runs WORSE than xp11 and fs2020? AAAAAAAAAAA
@@nullvoid3990 Seems so.
How do you get X-plane to start up expecting OpenXR? It still complains about steamVR each time I try to enable VR and I dont want to use SteamVR.
XP12.1 is on OpenXR by default, you don't need to tweak the exe link anymore.
It’s not really 😮?
Nice short Flight cap. i can see also some improvements in VR at home ( Quest 3 i513600K +RTX3800) Thx
Better graphics for sure in VR, flight model is top tier. Still needing ortho scenery to be believable.
5 words, this looks real
No it doesn't. Far from it. But it looks _good_
@@ollyalme I ment by it looked like a camera recording 😅
How is overall performance (regarding fps) in VR in comparison to version 12.0.9?
I'd say the same. I can notice only a small improvement from my GPU upgrade.
@@crisk73 What kind of frame rates are you getting?
@@strider00111 Between 32 to 37 which is enough for VR with that level of detail and res.
Still shit if you compare it with MSFS at graphics, at least it’s very good at flying physics ! 👍
Correct. MSFS is graphics, XP is physics. Hopefully MSFS24 will be both who knows...
@@crisk73 I hope I am wrong but I heard it wouldn’t be much better at flying physics ! 🥹
Way better than fs2020
The scenery of course is less spectacular than fs but to me it feels more natural (less fake).
@@crisk73 Yes..... LESS saturated and vivid colors and more scatteres light.... and more of all weather and CLOUDS are more natural
Yes even if thunderstorm cells are not represented at the moment. At least in Europe I still haven''t found any.
Uow! Amazing! Tks a lot man! Hugs from Brazil
Thx for this nery nice video. How did you get OpenXR Toolkit working ?
I used the Nightly build of OXRT. You can find a link to the build at the .Org site.
Very nice flight and views. Thx.
Beautiful.
Still dark textures !
X Plane 12 is on par with FSX in terms of visual fidelity but it is not in the same league as MSFS 2020. Venice looks like a good computer simulation like FSX but when I fly it in MSFS 2020, I feel like I am actually in Venice.
Well.. the free Venice addon is pretty old.. but better than nothing.
Thanks!
Thanks to you. Much appreciated!
I’ve been trying to connect X-Plane 12 on my Meta Quest 3 and I still can’t figure it out how to do it, could you please explain how did you make it work?
Hi just use the Quest Link official app. First launch it then launch XP and in the XP menu switch to VR mode. That's pretty straightforward.
Is the Venice payware ?
@@calinutza33 no it's free (but quite old). Find the link in the description.
@@crisk73 thank you , I have tried to fly the X-Plane on demo version to see what is like but couldn’t connect the VR so I gave up ! 😃
@@calinutza33 it needs a bit of studying to configure the VR, I might will to make a vid to shed some light on beginners.
@@crisk73 that would be great , I couldn’t make it , I have Reverb G2 , thank you. !
How did you record this? Is this Oculus Mirror?
Yes correct, with image stabilizer on.
Is there a reason why you are using the mouse instead of VR controllers?
Simply because in a GA plane the workload with buttons and knobs is low, otherwise for a liner I'd have used controllers.
@@crisk73 Thanks for your reply. I see. Although it’s a little bit strange to wear VR googles on your head and move a mouse over a table. But the big developer team of MSFS still isn’t able to implement VR hand controllers, which worked in X-Plane (11) on day 1.
looks good. .
How do you click the bottons in vr?
There are two options: 1) with physical controllers (which I'm not using in this video) 2) with the mouse cursor (the big arrow I'm moving around the cockpit).
Si può scaricare?
La Demo sì.
@@crisk73 Ok grazie
Trees, and buildings colorimetry + shadowing are bad...
I wouldn't say bad, of course they can be improved.
I’m gonna have to say that ain’t VR at all. But more good mouse control.
Why you say it's not VR?.. of course VR is when you are wearing the headset, not when you are watching 2d vid..
@@crisk73 movement is just way too smooth bot vr.
@@Test-Pilot1194ah ok now I got it..
@@crisk73 head would be bobbing up and down…ish…just doesn’t look right. I’ve played and recorded plenty of vr. 👍🏻
@@Test-Pilot1194well it's 100% VR.. maybe it's the stabilization filter that comes with the Oculus Mirror app which I used to capture the VR footage.
Why does everything still look like it's made of cardboard..?
Cause everyone has their own opinion.
Because the xplane graphics engine is literally a decade behind that of msfs. It seems quite lazy and unfortunate to me that they do not update a 10-year-old graphics engine in 2024.
XP graphical engine is older and of course uglier, I agree, but to me it feels more realistic, I don't know why, it's just so...
@@crisk73 Well, I honestly don't know what you see there.
Meh MSFS still looks better.
Yes that's true but the feeling of flying is better on XP unless you fly the A2A on msfs.
graphics look better in my modded fs2004.
Xplane is not about graphics, it's about the true feeling of flying.
@@crisk73 i´ve always heard that shit.
But it's true!
