Carrie definitely died too young, I always admired her as much for her stance on mental health as for her acting, I always wanted to meet her, but never got the chance!
Carrie is the personification of the tortured artist, like Van Gogh, who had faults like all of us, but kept trying to express herself, make something out of her life, and come to terms with her illness. I have been diagnosed with CPTSD, and have learned to make every day an opportunity to achieve something important to me, large goals or small goals don't matter, it's the feeling of accomplishment of small goals. I found that excercise helps me a lot. I'm pretty lazy but tried anyway. It took me six months to be able to run around the track 3 times. My husband encouraged me when I felt like a failure, he told me I was doing great, just by trying. Even when I thought he was wrong, he kept me encouraged. Now I get up at 4:30 AM and go out and run 6 to 8 miles every day!! Never, ever thought I could do that! It's a small achievement, but got me trying more goals, little by little. Never give up, never let failure imprison you! Every single day you get to try! Never give up on yourself and be forgiving of yourself and everyone around you. Anger is the biggest energy drain in the world...
@@dec23 I understand your viewpoint but I can't entirely share it. I believe that mental illnesses may be a consequence of a tragic life. I really like Carrie but we need to be honest with ourselves. It all strated when her unfaithful father abandoned his family and there was no man to guide Carrie. @@Sputnik-hf8oe Well, I did always say she was dealt terrible cards in life. But I appreciate your point of view. Regarding the men in her life, that always upset me. She loved men who were absolutely unavailable and selfish.
I miss her everyday. She was one of strongest human being out here. I hope one day I'll find a woman who is like Carrie Fisher. She was so done to earth
She is one of a kind... although she may have had tragitic moments.. she lead an amazing life. and was such a strong person and a good spokes person for others who struggled with addiction. Hard to believe its been 4 years as of yesterday since she passed May she RIP .
Carrie Fisher's in heaven welcoming newcomers with a bit of acerbic wit and true wisdom. I don't suffer from bipolar disorder, but suffer from PTSD. She used to really help me with her trademark humor, it almost help me feel like I was going to be okay after all. Thanks Carrie
Miss this woman every day. She died the very same day my father died. (Though he died in 2009) Always loved her voice, and I think she was my first real celeb crush as a kid when I saw her in Star Wars.. even though I was born in 1992. My family were huge into Star Wars, my grandmother even has VHS tapes of the original trilogy that are sealed up. Carrie will always live on in my mind.
Just finished WISHFUL DRINKING and THE PRINCESS DIARIES. Thank you sweet Carrie for all you gave to the world. I'm heartbroken that you are gone from the physical world but I find peace in knowing that you are with yr mother.......Debbie (lol)
It is so very sad that years of substance abuse, finally took its toll on her voice, looks, and health. It's too bad that Hollywood and fame supported this behavior. Carrie was stunning. RIP.
God bless Carrie Fisher, she lived life on her own terms, good, bad, ugly, and bat shit crazy. But I guarantee she regrets nothing! At least she and her mom are together, forever arguing but together. On a side note, wasn’t the movie Postcards From The Edge based on her and Debbie Reynolds relationship?
That was sad that her mom died shortly after her daughter did, but sometimes a broken heart will do that to you, and that's a real thing. According to Todd Fisher, Debbie even said that she wanted to be with Carrie prior to her stroke. I guess God heard her and reunited the two (if you believe in that sort of thing).
The years of substance abuse aged her body well beyond how old she was. Toward the end of her life she looked as old, if not older than her mother. The same thing happened to Lisa Marie Presley. If Carrie had gotten the help she needed she would still be with us. The fact that drugs were found in her system when she died is very sad.
In all honesty I don’t think it really matters how any drug made her look, it’s more the fact she was in such pain and struggled with her health because of it. How old or young a person appears is the least relevant (imo)
Brilliant vid "grunge", accurate, articulate, and compassionate. She was a beautifully strong and influential woman, working tirelessly to advocate the reality of all addictions. RIP Carrie Fisher.
I have bipolar 2 with physcosis and depression and its not easy trying to function in high society and feel normal theres times where a everything comes to a stand still and i start contemplating suicide and i hear voices and feel paranoid and others i feel fine so i understand her pain completely
i actually want to say that carrie actually met paul through her friend shelley duvall in which shelley and paul were dating then carrie and paul fell for eachother and thus paul broke up with shelley in the airport as she was leaving to film the shining
16 cokes a day ? I wonder if carrie needed supplements to treat what was going on ? Like chromium picolate L Glutamine ... Cinnamon bark .. I wonder instead of a trainer she need a really great nutritionist or Homeopathy doctor to help her ! Someone like chris Ricoh at the light institute but then she knew Shirley M Correct ??? Anyway carries really missed ... Loved her !

Just so you know, Carrie never liked her life being regarded as "tragic."
Doesn't change the fact though.
@@Sputnik-hf8oe Just because she had a mental illness doesn't necessarily mean she had a tragic life. According to her, she had a privileged life.

Makes complete sense. She was a survivor, not a victim.
Carrie Fisher would had hated this; she often referred to a magazine piece called "Carrie Fisher's Tragic Life".
I miss her everyday. She was one of strongest human being out here. I hope one day I'll find a woman who is like Carrie Fisher. She was so done to earth
You're sorely missed Carrie
Her books are the reason I am in my sobriety of drugs amd alcohol
Nice work. Remember it's drugs including alcohol*.
Hope you get better. Drugs are bad mqway
keep the good fight going!
Me too Michael, me too.
Keep it up, we can and do recover.....
It is too bad that alcoholics go to HELL when they die, according to the Bible!! That's because alcoholism is NOT a DISEASE, it is a SIN!!
She had a lot of struggles, but Carrie also previously stated that she wasn't happy with her life being framed as 'tragic'.

I loved 'em both---and still do. It's great to have them available on DVDs any time we want to see them. Stay safe, everyone.
Love Carrie's work and shed a few tears when she died
I was bawling when she died. Whenever I think about her I think about her death and then start crying
Me 2
deeply impressed by the HELP LINE EPILOGUE message. Very well done

I wonder if she would still be alive if she married Akroyd. At least she would have had some stability.

such a sad and painful life. but what courage!
4 years ago today RIP carrie 1956 - 2016
Always a star ⭐ and always missed.
RIP Carrie Fisher
I feel so bad for her. She’s my idol and I hate to see her in pain r.i.p

Sad.
Carrie Fisher may have lost her war with her personal struggles, but she didn't go down without a fight.
A true Hero forever in our hearts
A very genuine and honest Princess!!
I mainly remember her on the scene in blues brothers where she was shooting at Dan ackroyd and Belushi with an M16 rifle in a dark alley.
I miss Carrie Fisher a lot she is awesome
RIP Princess Leia 😢
Smart, funny, and beautiful. And no, not tragic. She was gone too soon. RIP Carrie.
Being pinned down by someone's brain. That is the best reason to end a relationship ever. EPIC.
She was so fine:( ugh hurts me heart
I LOVE Princess Leia. This made me sad. Knowing people who acted and WAS her who hurt other people.
We miss you Carrie Frances Fisher.
Carrie honestly inspired me to be proud of myself for trying and getting up every day. She truly is royalty in my heart
It sucks that when a celebrity dies there more missed then if an average uknown person dies
I saw her being interviewed on the Graham Norton show and thought she hadn't got long left. And a couple of weeks later she died.
Carrie Fisher was badass. RIP princess
So sad of a life …. a great actress.
Im still not over her death i cant even belive she's gone
R.I.P.
Roses are red,
Violets are blue,
To our beloved princess:
May the force be with you
I think many many people can identify themself with her and the stuggles she had in her life. RIP
Wait........ Billie Lourd is Carrie Fishers daughter!?!?!
Yeah
Fisher is just my star
How many memoirs did Carrie Fisher write???
Carrie fisher is literally my great great great grandma lol
I used meth and alcohol to try and cope but just made my paranoia worse
My god l mišs this woman.
I don't see what all the fuss is about. Many women would love the life of Carrie Fisher.
Rip the Princess
Love Carrie Fisher and her parents Eddie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds.
Uhm out of context with the Ford thing…. She wasn’t that drunk and SHE invited him up. Stop selling Carrie short.
i actually want to say that carrie actually met paul through her friend shelley duvall in which shelley and paul were dating then carrie and paul fell for eachother and thus paul broke up with shelley in the airport as she was leaving to film the shining
Sin leads to tragedy
think she was able to help Dr. Evil in group
I caught the Statue in Araq obviously,I was Michaelangelos David.
She caused her mother a lot of sorrow and sadness
Poor lady,,,rich but money doesn’t buy happiness
I will always remember her in that white robe and I wanted to be like her. I was young then 😄
Princess Leia & Family Guy…I enjoyed Carrie
Blimey! "Lose weight"!! 😕. Gutted good ole Princess Carrie/Leia's a goner. RIP
