@@MAKEARTNOWCHANNEL In theory, can't you just mount the whole camera + lens upside down? You would just need a ring clamp (with rubberized interior so that it doesn't scratch the lens) and thus bring the center of gravity even lower, leaving the original mount hanging on top. Probably a bit awkward to navigate the settings and hit the buttons on the camera, but doable. And the footage just gets a flip in post and you're done.

i love the way you inspire film makers looking for new perspectives and ideas! I will try out the deep parallax technique as soon as possible. it gives such a new touch and feel & look to our footage! ❤️️
I absolutely love your videos, and you make all of this look so extremely easier than it is... Wish you'd put up something to show us your edit workflow for editing your parallax shots. Like, are you stabilizing in post? Are you punching in and tracking the subject? Or, is this straight out of the camera? On another note, I loved the shot of your wife and son, and the words you used. You sir, are phenomenal inspiration to us all.
Im sooooo early and I love it :) I recently bought my first motorised slider and 55-250mm lens is on the way. Cant wait to start playing with it especially because of, how you named it "deep paralax".
Aperture Stop = The physical stop that limits the size of the bundle of light rays reaching the image from the object on the axis. Entrance pupil = Image of the aperture stop by lens elements in front of the aperture stop. Exit pupil = Image of the aperture stop by lens elements after the aperture stop. Field Stop = Physical stop that limits the extent of the object that can be imaged. Entrance Port/Window = Image of FS by lens elements in front of it Exit Port/Window = Image of FS by lens elements behind it. Entrance port is the window through which the object is viewed from the entrance pupil, with the field of view being the angle subtended by the entrance port at the entrance pupil. The entrance pupil limits the angle of rays that can enter the system. When we look into the optical system we are looking at the image of the entrance pupil. When we put our eye behind the back of the lens system and look, we are actually looking at the exit pupil. When we look at someone's pupil, the cornea in front of the iris is creating a virtual image of the real pupil behind it, and so we are looking at the entrance pupil.

Just a suggestion: A way you could possibly get that look cheaper, easier and steadier is with a micro four thirds system. For example, A GH5 with the Pana Leica 200mm (400mm ff eq) will have dual image stabilisation, 4k 60fps, lighter on a gimbal and 'similar' blur at f2.8. The PL lenses are sharp and I've used the 42.5mm F1.2 with dual IS for handheld moving shots and it's very smooth. Otherwise go crazy with the Olympus 150-400mm pro for 800mm ff eq of stabilised fun :) Thanks for the interesting vid.
Awesome! You know what you could try next time? The same effect but closing down the lens a bit more in some shots with more than one subject like the ones in the end. I know you were testing in 2.8 purposely but I would love to see how this same shots would look closed down. Cheers!

I think you could mount the lens and camera upside down for lower center of gravity, and since this method would be with a diy ring you could place it at the perfect point on the lens to balance lens and camera on the gimbal. Controls would be a pain, and obviously you'd have to flip it in post, but since nothing about what you're doing is easy... might as well see how low you can go.
Josh hops on a One Wheel with a 12k lens and a 6k camera, how does he do that? The ballz that this takes! It's also what keeps him balanced, just a gimbal & massive ballz 😂
