LOL, @ 3:22 . . . I was confused, the way the pitman arm was blocking your assistants eyes, it looked like y'all were protecting his identity. All I can say is, you Folks are Killin' It , all of your products , thank you.
Judging by how rusty of a cherokee they picked i dont think they are building a super long term million dollar rig. If soo I woulda started with a rust free jeep. Its almost like they used this jeep cause most ppl buying theese have sone rust on the jeep more of a realistic install vs a perfectly mint rust free jeep build. But yea i spray galv weld thru primered my stiffners on my last jeep and fixed all rust eliminated all rust before installation then i seam sealed the edges so no moisture can get behind them in and areas
@JDHitchman We are up in the Rust Belt, aka, Minnesota. We haven't seen any adverse rust effects from painting after welding. We always use high quality enamel paint and keep it touched up every season before winter. So far so good. Add some seam sealer to the edges of each stiffener and you should be set!
@nissanjeep187 Rust free XJs are getting harder to find up here in Minnesota. Also, you are absolutely right, this is very common to what most of our viewers will encounter.
@jdsilvaca That is great to hear! We have been installing stiffeners for a very long time too. If you use a high quality enamel paint and seam sealer they will last the life of the vehicle. Just remember to touch up any rock rash after wheeling!
You are my guru now. I have an xj in excellent condition... except the rust. I am learning how to weld to mitigate it. My rust is almost exactly where this one's is. Can you do a vid of how to cut sections of rust out? Subscribed!
I bought your stiffners front to back, and im super excited to put it on. Unfortunately, i dont know if the rear will work for me anymore. I had to cut the rear rails out at the axle and used 3x4 sq tube in place, so i no longer have the "s" bend that went around the tank and tied in the shackle buckets in the correct spot. Im getting close to doing the stiffners, so i guess time will tell.
I might have missed it in the video, but where do those small gussets go? I've put on the middle and rear sections so far, but can't figure out where they go. Thanks in advance.
@LuiWrenches I am sorry, we don't do installs but a shop local to you would be able to install this for you. Check with a local offroad group for a shop that can help.

@RANDOMNATION907 He is in witness protection! Don't tell anyone! 😆
I'm really concerned by the lack of any rust preventive coatings. Why did you not paint the entire kit with a weldable primer before installing it?
I painted mine after they were installed. No rust issues, going on almost 10 years now

@stephenpatton8690 Thanks for the compliment! Rust is the worst, isn't it?! A rust repair video is a great idea, I'll see what I can do.
@IronRockOffRoad really appreciate it! My wife is getting me a lincoln wire feed for my birthday and I want to attack it.
@stephenpatton8690 That's awesome! She sounds like a great wife! Let us know how the rust repair goes!
@@stephenpatton8690 Cool wife! 🙂
Nice! I need to do this next.
Same here!
@dustysteele5408 This is a must for an XJ!
@miniwolverine6227 We got you covered! Literally! 😁

@chriskelley3702 It sounds like you have the fabrication skills to make it work! Let us know how the install goes.
Does it matter welding the stiffeners on when the axles are out? Doing the rear stiffeners along with a one ton axle swap.
You can do the stiffeners without the axles in!
great video
@LeslieLucas-u1i Thank you, I'm glad it was helpful!

@milesneimeyer7584 Good catch. We forgot to show them in the video. They bridge across the joint from the front stiffeners to the center stiffeners.
Im interested in this kit, but i dint know how to weld. Do you guys install as well?

These work with your front and rear 4 link kit?
@kamakazioverland4584 They do! Stay tuned, we will be installing our 4-link kit in a coming episode!
Nice job god bless
@johnr5545 Thank you!
