I just discovered this band last year. I was out of the country for the early part of the 90s and since they were from up north, I never really heard their music. This band absolutely blew me away! everything from guitar to drums to bass to vocals were just amazing. I wish had a chance to have seen them live...
Saw them live in Eugene, OR a few nights before her tragic death. She wrote all their song lyrics and was a talented hooman bean that I still miss so much. She signed her name on a sticker that they were handing out and I bought the poster and the album, Frenching the Bully. Thank you Gits for that last album which I will cherish until I see Mia in heaven (hopefully).
I'm a 55 year old Vet who loved the likes of Miss Joplin and when I heard Mia's music and voice, her heart spoken in her music...I fell in love with her as I,' sure many a man has. As a soldier over seas YEARS ago I lost my first wife to a random act of violence. And for what it's worth.. this world has lost one of it's true gifts..Mankind has lost a talent that will never be equaled. To this day I still "fall a tear' just at the thought of her. MIA...I'm at your feet with love and a deep feeling of loss.If there is a God..You are an Angel in his world...and Whatever I may have earned I gladly give to you.WE have all lost a true gift from this earth. If I could..My word to whatever GOD there is..I would gladly trade my life to see the likes of you grace this world again.May your spirit music soul voice heart and music live forever..With respect and Love..Doc Morris,Greer,S.C.
Awesome! Would have loved to have met her. I was born in 1965 as well. This documentary affected me and y outlook at the human race and how fragile and cruel we are.
Mia had a fabulous and unique voice. 😢 RIP beautiful and talented Mia. You would have accomplished so much more and been one of the classic greats! Thank you for the wonderful songs you left for us. Beautiful tribute and version of this already beautiful song.
Wow...my freshman year was 93 and before interweb to learn about different artists. I never heard of her and The Gits until today 1-3-23. Man this is awesome. What could have been...
Great tribute to Mia. I'm not a big fan of punk or grunge rock, but I grew to like Mia's artistic talent. Her voice is great too: deep and unique. I'm sure that, would she be living to this day, she and The Gits would had been quite successful. And we would had seen her and the Gits on TV programs all over the place. We miss you, Mia.
In 1993 I was 20 years old. In my country he fell to communism. The Gits I met in January of the same year, and the voice me tink ..... I'm in shock to today. I'm very missing the gits and I miss it ..... it's so much years .....
I discovered The Gits and a tragic Mia’s story through the Casefile...and I feel such a sadness that Mia went through a brutal murder...Mia was such a wonderful human being.
Thank you, all for the wonderful comments. I no longer have access to this channel (forgot the password, etc.) that being said, I appreciate you all. #vivazapata ❤
So sad what happened to her. And after looking at pics, I noticed the girl couldn't smile...or wouldn't. It's like her soul new what was coming¿ RIP Mia😘
The scumbag that took her life is an even bigger reason that immigrants need to be vetted coming in to America. With his violent past he should never have been able to roam free and she would still be alive.
Such a tragic & evil murder! Her story has never left me, & when Jesus Mezquia was tried, convicted & sentenced to 36 years in prison by DNA evidence, only then could I get a sounder-night of sleep! ~MiaZ1993~
Is there anyone out there still listening to Mia's beautiful voice and understanding what a great loss she was ?
She was a beautiful woman with a great voice. What a tragic waste. I absolutely hate what happened to her.
ALWAYS✌RIP ANGEL
