@@OutdoorRetiree I think it’s a very interesting design I like the small engine power jet I think there can definitely be improvements I like the old design a little better with the Jet being protected more I believe I can get that weight down for the shell of the boat without the engine to 80 pounds using just one sheet of HDPE HMWPE or UHMWPE And then just using longitudinal framing I could easily get the weight down and improve the performance
@@MudMotorsMax I think the total weight is around 240, with the haul being most of it. Reducing the weight would definitely help the performance. The older design had the pump tucked back into the haul. I wish they kept that feature to protect the pump.

They are both good boats and have their advantages. The Sea Doo has lots more power, but I could buy 3 Mokai's for the cost of the Sea Doo. When I pull the Mokai up on a shallow beach and boat waves push it farther up on the beach, at 250 lbs, I can pull it back into the water easily. At 900 lbs., the Sea Doo may be stuck there.
@@OutdoorRetiree Yeah I actually own an Explorer Pro 170. With its 22 degree deadrise hull, it def gets stuck in the sand pretty easily if the tide moves out. It's a real bear to move by myself. So I agree the Mokai is definitely better for the real shallow water stuff. And yeah the Sea Doo is $22k which is crazy but in my opinion its def the most unique, most versatile, best riding, jet powered vessel ever made. Last week I brought out 2 beach chairs, a 10x10 tent, 2 coolers, a large dry bag, case of beer and a passenger to a sand bar all on the ski. lol

Hello. Please tell me what kind of engine is installed, what is the weight of the boat along with all the mechanics, what is the engine power and what is the fuel consumption? Thank you
Hello, the total weight is around 250 lbs. It has a Kohler 9.5 hp engine (model CH395-3190) in it. The weight of the operator does have an impact on how fast it can go. If you look at the inside of the haul, there is a thinner area that runs like a ring around the end of the boat. This ring gets real narrow as you move up and if you move up too far, you will get into the serial number on the back of the boat. I didn't want to mess up the SN, so I moved down to where I have a large enough flat spot to get it to mount flush and used caulk to seal it. No water comes in around that fitting.
@@growingoldandhavingfun4391 You don't want to pump grease in when the pump is installed. That can blow the seals around the pump shaft. I used to experiment with ducting when overclocking computers, have you thought about ways to get more air cooling into the engine bay ?
I have seen the pull starter removed to allow more air flow, but I'm not overly worried about the heat. I would like to make it a little quieter though.
Look up the disc mufflers from supertrapp also get yourself a Robertsons Torque Tube Looped Header and you will get vast improvements in torque
I have an aftermarket muffler on it now, but I will take a look at it. Thanks! Always looking to make it a better machine!
@@OutdoorRetiree Yeah they look like lots of fun I run long tail Mud Motor’s but I am building in HDPE Boat and I’d like to have the option of having a Jet Drive So this looks pretty interesting
@@MudMotorsMax I paid $5600 for mine last year and then added in about $2000 in aftermarket stuff, one item being the cable control system. I just saw that Mokai is starting to offer a model with a cable control system and it is currently selling for a limited time at $5195, then it goes up to $5395. That would have saved me some $$, had they done that 6 months earlier.
No overhanging roof? Or blue camouflage paint?😂. Shocking
Badass little boat.
NICE! Do they make an electric ver?
No, as far as I know, they just make a gas version.
Humms along nicely 👍👌✌️🙏🇳🇿
Sir do know of, or can recommend a wheel dolly setup for moving it from land to water. As always, thank you sir.
I trailer mine, but you could use a dolly if the terrain you would be traversing is not too rough or steep. If you balanced it right, you might be able to use a kayak/canoe cart like this one on Amazon, which can hold 450 lbs. Here is a link to it:
www.amazon.com/Wilderness-Systems-Heavy-Duty-Kayak/dp/B07JQMZJLM/ref=sr_1_3?crid=3ERFIDT0HT1BS&keywords=Wilderness+Systems+Heavy+Duty+Kayak+Cart&qid=1659041189&sprefix=wilderness+systems+heavy+duty+kayak+cart%2Caps%2C86&sr=8-3
@@OutdoorRetiree what trailer do you use?
@@JohnBraman413 I bought a Triton LTWCI-X trailer, which is an aluminum single personal watercraft trailer. I replaced the 6 foot bunk boards with 8 foot bunk boards so that it supported the Mokai better.
I also added a cross support under the engine compartment, because it is narrower than the rest of the Mokai and didn't sit on the bunk boards.
@@OutdoorRetiree do you know the tow weight of trailer and mokai together?
Looks like StarWars technology 😅🙏💯🇬🇧👌
the phone with no phone holder or safety clip-in bag and nothing but water around. talk about living on the edge... very cool kayak though.

“Key board kayaker” 😂😂😂
Huh? Whaa? Jesus thanks for your two cents mom. Someone doesnt understand the complexity being a content creator. These people dont just film shit and then upload it. It takes alot of work. Show some respect
Man I’ve been wanting one of those for years, you can get into all the honey holes with one of those, I love watching Auqachigger skip over logs with his, not sure if y’all got the same model? He came down and went treasure hunting with my nephew and I a few years ago but didn’t break out the Mokai, I would love to have a go on one of those, I’ve paddled against the current in my kayak so many times to access my honey holes and my arms were like jelly afterwards, it would be convenient to not have to paddle anymore but I guess I need the exercise, what was that building with the gold dome btw? That was cool, looks like the capital building in Atlanta, I use to take field trips there as a kid, Thanks For Sharing, Stay Safe, GL&HH 👊🏹
The Chigg has an earlier model. I tried to find one used because I like how the pump is tucked back into the haul, which protects it. I added the skid plate on mine to protect the pump. I enjoy kayaking to an extent. When I have to paddle a 1-2 miles just to get to the spot I want to search, its starts getting old, especially in the Summer heat. That is the WV State Capital building. Thanks for watching! Good luck!
@@OutdoorRetiree Thanks, I hope you get into some killer holes with that thing, stay safe, GL&HH 👊🏹
Where do you live in Ga.? I'm in Kingston myself. Retired from the Army not long ago. Just ordered my 2.0. Looking for fellow Mokai guys close by.
@@shawndale1552 I’m in Cherokee County, currently in Hickory Flat but I grew up around South Cherokee, I doubt I’ll ever be able to afford a Mokai, I had to sell my kayak recently because of hard times, Kingston is one of my favorite places on earth btw, I got a few videos from up that way, I have a video from last summer “Kayaking And Fishing The Etowah River”…that’s around the Kingston area, my best friend lives in Taylorsville so whenever I go up there to visit him I try to hit that section of river up there and walk those cornfields, I’d love to move up there one day, Thank You For Your Service Btw🇺🇸

@@bb-fe9ur You are correct!
Who built that building?
@@tra_vis9626 If you are talking about the one with the gold dome, it was completed in 1932. It was designed by Cass Gilbert and a lot of people built it.
That is so cool
Very cool, don't try and roll that kayak you'll flood the engine. 😅
Cool but why not just get a jet ski at that point?? Like a Sea Doo Explorer pro 170?
Last week I brought out 2 beach chairs, a 10x10 tent, 2 coolers, a large dry bag, case of beer and a passenger to a sand bar all on the ski. lol
@@richr909 Yeah, it looked like it had plenty of hauling capacity when I took a look at it. A long time ago, I owned a Jet Ski X2, so I know they are fun to ride. I wish I had some of that power in the Mokai to make it go a little faster.
I weigh 170 and in good smooth water conditions can go around 20-22 mph. It has a 4 gallon tank and I get almost 15 mpg, so a 60 cruising range. Have a good day!
@@OutdoorRetiree Great! Thank you for the clarification and quick feedback! Good luck!
@outdoorretiree what is the peak rpm of the output shaft of the motor as well
@@WATTWENEED They recommend a max rpm of 4000, but I usually run between 4400-4500 and haven't had any issues. I don't know the rpm of the output shaft, but you may be able to find it online by looking up the engine model CH395-3190.
Now you just need a 500wh/kg battery and electric motor
Thats so awesome, how much for a rig like this?
I paid 5600 for the Mokai and put about 2000 in upgrades into it. Now, you can buy the Mokai already equipped with the manual controls for 5400. Thanks for watching!
Classic engineering
WOW !!! I LOVE !!!
How long until you sell these to the marines and seals?
I bought it from www.mokai.com, so they are available to them now.
Hi, this impeller diameter is 4 inches and the nozzle diameter? Thanks.
The nozzle has an ID of 3 inches.
Damn.I was not expecting that little sumbitch to go that fast. That lil thing can cruise.😂
I wonder how it is on gas?How long you can run it wide open before you run out of petrol? How much??
It has a 4 gallon tank and gets about 15 mpg, so it has a 60 mile cruising range.
@OutdoorRetiree I am officially impressed.Do I dare ask how much money it costs to obtain one of these? This is just crazy to me because I've never seen or heard of these lil beasts.
@@squierjason8726 They run around $5400, depending on the model. The manual controls model is cheaper than the electronic controls model. They are only sold directly from the manufacturer and their web site is: www.mokai.com
@OutdoorRetiree thats not that bad, definitely worth it in my eyes.Thank you.
@@squierjason8726 Welcome. Thanks for watching!
you mounted the zirk fitting below the waterline?
If you look at the inside of the haul, there is a thinner area that runs like a ring around the end of the boat. This ring gets real narrow as you move up and if you move up too far, you will get into the serial number on the back of the boat. I didn't want to mess up the SN, so I moved down to where I have a large enough flat spot to get it to mount flush and used caulk to seal it. No water comes in around that fitting.
@@OutdoorRetiree i saw another one of your videos saying not to put grease in or you can blow a seal. is that what zirk served?
@@growingoldandhavingfun4391 You don't want to pump grease in when the pump is installed. That can blow the seals around the pump shaft. I always pull the pump out and put a little grease in the zerk or just put some grease on the splines on the pump shaft. I don't grease it as often now, as I did when I bought it.
Is it pretty comfortable to be in
Yes, it is comfortable. I wanted to sit up a little higher, so I added the Woowave kayak seat, which raised me by about 3 inches. This makes it easier to see right in front of you.
A vertical twist throttle sounds painful.
It isn't bad, just took a little getting used to.
WHat! That is sick
Very nice, I want one!
