Make remote controls for the engines so the pilot can move forwards. Also, if you had increased thrust the canoe would not have reared up further, instead it would have properly got up on the plane, leveled out and caused a brown stain in your pants. It would only require a small skeg (look it up) the give directional stability and a rudder would facilitate much better steering than thrust vectoring.
Or option three, more weight in the front. I was hoping that the cameraperson visible in one of the shots was going to stay there. It would have nailed the nose/bow to the water.

or sit closer to the front of the canoe. it will also help steering as the center of mass will be farther from the thrust, giving a bigger turning moment.
You're losing too much forward momentum by riding bow high and creating such a massive bow wake. Ballast the boat forward to drop the bow, and lose the wake. Also, it would be safer. Currently, if you should turn too quickly or wind gets beneath a high bow, it could potentially flip the canoe.
@@fernandoayuso2672 There are only two ways to get the boat on plane. If he is going to keep the engine and himself at the stern of the boat, then he needs to place ballast forward. He needs to get the bow of the boat down. Otherwise, he and the engine can move amidship, which would place it closer to the center of mass. However, moving himself and the engine amidship would cause the boat to be unstable in turning. The turning arm is short and now coincident with the center of mass. Thus, the boat would quickly snap around in turns causing wild oscillations. Alternatively, he can leave the engine where it is and move himself amidship. Then he would require a longer tiller and control extensions for the engine. This would place ballast forward, which would offset the weight of the engine at the stern. The bow would lower and the boat would safely plane, but with the added expense of a longer and more complicated control arm. There are always going to be compromises in design.
True. You can attempt to trim an engine. Generally, it's either 20 degrees of trim up or down. This is assuming that the boat-motor combination are compatible. Trim is used to optimize the angle of the engine to get the most amount of wetted surface for the boat, which will give the most efficient plane possible. It's not meant to correct deficiencies in design. In designing the motor mount to incorporate trim, you would have to experiment with various heights of the mount above the boat's stern. The higher the mount above the stern would give greater leverage. And then you could experiment with the trim, remembering to keep it within the 20 degree range. I still feel that ballasting the boat forward would be the simpler solution. Just look at some of the high speed ski boats that place water filled ballast bags in the bow to compensate for weight distribution and the ability to give the boat a flatter ride. Ballasting is also used on many ocean going ships. It's a very viable way of changing the center of mass to prevent rolling in heavy seas. But then what happens when your tank is almost empty? I think they need to move Ian's driving position forward more... maybe make a revision on the steering mechanism so that he sits low, and roughly in the middle... =D
Yes. That and also put the driver seat more towards the front of the canoe. Also I noticed that the thrust from the jet engines was pointing up slightly which is acting as a moment and putting torque on the canoe which is probably some of the reason that it is tipping back so much. If they adjusted the angle so that the thrust was pointing down a bit more, it would probably give the canoe a more neutral angle at higher speeds.

to make this more Canadian: set it on ice-hockey-skates for the next winter.
two aside of each other for stability, one movable for steering.
Should sit a little further forward. This will make the canoe less back heavy.
Hacksmith: “it’s not fast enough, let’s put a jet engine on this thing.”
Asian fishermen’s: “hold my beer.”
Speedboat Indonesian + jet engine = ?¿???
Yeah dont forget Thailand's long tail boat😂
Vandaag is het geleden if you can outcome the promotions of the barrel thats sick dude
Car engine outboard.
@@leovillant768 lol
8:02 sounds like the Millennium Falcon when it breaks down
Yes indeed xD.
Its a sound effect lol
because they did actually use the sound of a jet engine breaking down as that sound
Because nothing says Canadian like a jet powered canoe.
,eh?
Ah yes, my favorite
Their normies, in my town we made a jet powered polar bear so we can get from one igloo to another faster, *eh*
Yes 🇨🇦
Logan Hval lol I’m Canadian, I was poking fun at stereotypes
K...... That thumbnail.... THAT TITLE, HOW COULD I NOT WATCH THIS !?! LOL
Ian’s face when he first tried out the jet canoe was pure delight. Then James was like hey I can fix something so Ian was like ok, fine. It didn’t work out so Ian just took the canoe and left the parts. Then he enjoyed the canoe more
🙏
You should put something like hydrofoils on it so that when it gets going really fast it raises out of the water
They should collaborate with flute test to make battle boats and rc planes
Did anybody else think of incredibles 2 when they read this
Build an akranoplan (plane that skims over water using ground effect)
Peter shripol made a Rc mini version but I don’t. Know if it would be possible to build a human version that isn’t full size because the real one is huge
This reminds me of those drag boats in Thailand.
Which are _waaaaaay_ faster than this.
I love how they used a hockey stick for their Canadian flag pole
Lol ikr
Canada 100
As you should 😂
Can u imagine a family with little kids on their first kanoe enjoying their day then all of a sudden some random ass guy zooms past them.
Exactly. This is an abomination.
"we need 2 things: a jet and a canoe"
im guessing the canoe was harder to get
Imagine going on a chill day on the Lake with your family and then this THING drives by
I wonder when did "So we can become Iron Man" turned into "So YOU can become a Hacksmith too." Time sure flies.
Coming soon: putting a Rolls Royce Trent 900 on a half scale cybertruck :D
4 of them. Then we have the power that the Trent gives to the A380
@@deanl2975 and the cybertruck will take off then :D
Yeshhh
Could you mount the jet engines to some sort of boat drone that could be operated remotely by a trailing waterskiier?
Hah. Possibly!
Hi!
a jet-ski that is controlled by a pulled waterskier has been done already.
now seriously: you should be putting the Driver more to the front to let the canoe lay flatter on the water.
and then it needs hydrofoils.
Ulrich Kälber yes i thought that too
Now this is pod racing!
I kinda want a revisit of this with people around just for the reactions and if they can make it better, then all the better.
this is kinda like what me and my dad did . We put 2 jet ski motors in a row boat. All it need was 2 inches of water.
Ok how did you post this one day ago when you are not a Chanel member

Oh ok, i didnt know that was a option
“I like to enjoy how peaceful it is out here” *proceeds to put a frickin jet on the water*
A person: would you want a jet or a canoe
Hacksmith: is it to much to ask for both
Ahh, just a normal day in Canada, Pulling someone in a kayak behide a jet canoe
