And you sir explained it correctly 🤘🏼. It doesn't make more hp on its own, but it allows you to push the tunes harder and more boost then with out the meth since it helps with detonation. It pretty much turns your 91-93 pump gas into race fuel with out having to pay the race fuel prices 🤘🏼

well i installed it on my 1.4 tsi scirocco with stage 2 already added and installed then the snow performance stage 3 di kit ( the car is not programmed with the meth kit) i clearly got about 20 hp gains with 33% meth and 77% water dyno tested : without water meth : 240 hp with water meth: 261 hp
problem is its only worth the money if ur care already got a stage 1 or 2 programm if its stock it may even lose 1 or 2 hp with u still have the benefits of course
my opinion its worth the money for tuned car of course but for stock i woudlnt waste money
my programmer said if u tune ur car give it a shot with the water meth but DONT TUNE DIRECTLY THE WATER METH CUZ IF THE FLUID RUNS OUT U RUNNING UR ENGINE WITH THE PROGRAMM BUT WITHOUT THE JUICE AND THAT CLEARLY DAMAGE the engine OBVIOUSLY

Meth injection is great IF you don’t rely on it for power, but, tune the car without it, and use meth injection as a way to increase safety.
Scenario.... you’re at the track, lettin’ her Rio tater chip, car was tuned using meth to make more power. Now, on Your 9th pass you forgot to fill up your meth tank, run out, cylinders run higher temps, EGT’s go up, etc.... POP goes the weasel. Verses... same scenario above but you tuned it as a safety backup, forgot to refill it on run 9, and not as big of a deal as the fuel/ignition/timing//spark advsnce/knock sensors/etc maps were tuned to run without it anyway. Just my .02 from running meth on 3 cars all from Snow Performance...
So ecoboost with a slightly bigger turbo and light tune would run ok with this as a precaution for 120° weather right?

This is exactly how I use methanol. I've been running straight meth injection on my Mini for almost 3 years now. It's tuned with a big turbo and all the other goodies. No one makes an E85 system for my car (or really any aftermarket fuel system components), and the engine compartment is so compact that IATs increase pretty quickly. Meth is an easy answer.

Im sure you could have the system on a arm switch that when you turn it on it not only powers the circuit it also tells the ecu its on and the ecu also modifies the fuel/ign maps to the more aggressive tune

I've always had some type of water methanol on everything turbocharged I have owned had it on a few turbo Dodges (mid 80s 2.2 Shelby glh type stuff) had it on my Jeep tj crawler I built and turbocharged... When I decided to boost the thing I didn't bother making it intercooled when I built it.. mostly due to added plumbings routing .. a desire to keep it as low tech and simple as possible plus, the fact that crawling in lo range over boulders you're moving 5 mph most of the time.. plus east coast wheeling most everything is always covered with dirt and mud especially radiators and intercoolers .. it was definitely a good compromise ... Well , the Jeep has been down for a while.. life and obligations , lack of motivation.. And so when we inherited my wife's old mans 05 Volvo S80 when he punched his golden ticket ... Must say I was never a fan of Volvo mostly due to ignorance I am pretty impressed with that car.. after going through the thing fixing the neglected shit it seemed to have potential so I did the mild tune.. well I didn't , specific equipment is required so the experts did it .. that woke it up
and then I pulled the jeeps methanol injection system and it resides in the S80.. gotta admit it definitely makes a difference and the things a bit of a sleeper ... Hell just the drastic intake temperature change would be enough to justify putting it in but you get a little octane bump , reduced chance of knock, timing could be a little less conservative if you wanted.. egts drop.. plus it does really steam clean the combustion chamber .. I usually just run windshield washer fluid .. depending on what blue juice is on hand and its quality and percentage I sometimes add a little VP M1 to it.

Hmm I’ve thought about it but never really considered it. It definitely does sound like it would make my car a bit more fun tho😆 Eventually I probably will try it out on my beater car to get comfortable with it before I try anything like that on my actual car. Especially considering I do all of my own tuning and I don’t really have any experience tuning for meth injection so yeah lol makes sense to start with the beater. Like a lot of us here my car is my baby and I would be very upset if I blew her up🥺
That's why I'm going E85
The only thing e85 is great because it is like 100-105 octane and you can extract more out of the engine. But it puts out less energy than gas. You need to flow and use more volume of e85 to compensate, what that means is your mileage will suffer and youll be filling more often. Also some places you cant get e85 at. I also heard but not sure that it can cause corosion or someting. Also when your car is cold it is harder to start. Just thought to tell you this if you didnt know, if you knew then I was just trying to help.
In Connecticut we only have 3 gas stations with e85. Out of the 3 one is a a navy base, one has questionable purity and the other is basically 2 minutes from the new York border (1-1/2 ride from my house without traffic)

100 degrees in tempature drop. Maybe in some extreme cases but I only see 20 maybbe 30 in sunny SoFlo. Also if local VP racing sells M1 in 5 gallon drums for $38-39

I have a ram air intake > turbo > intercooler > engine.
This is stock setup.
I'm running the AEM Stage 1 WMI Kit on my 2013 Ford Fusion down it Texas, and the main reason for adding it to my build was to 1) Keep Temps. Down and 2) To clean my valves. Running E30 as well and loving the results! Also shooting the meth is fun too to keep body temps down
Hey im currently running E30 as well , did u see any diference in HP gains When u added meth ontop of the E30?
@@racingvibes2927 not so much difference in power just by adding meth, but we were able to increase intake and exhaust timing because of the reduced chance of knock. So there is power to be gained, just depends on how your tuner extracts it! I'm running with Stratified Automotive over in Florida.

My buddy had a evo 8 mr with meth running on 30psi boost scariest test run I've ever had to do did a 2 step launch around 3rd gear you really felt the methanol we ran roughly a quater mile in 9 sec. I wasnt buckled in and the seat wasnt bolted down all the way.

You can compress water vaper but not liquid water, that why it's "safe" in the cylinder block.
The atomozing of the water/meth mixture cools the AIT. Helping reduce knock. Methanol itself is also has anti knock properties. The amount of water also isn't high. So there should be no risk of flooding, unless you have a shitty kit that fails

Can we get a vid on intercooler sprayers? Was thinking bout routing my washer fluid to the front of my intercooler but keep finding mixed reviews. Is it worth it?
Yes and no. I remember reading an article on Modified Magazine a long time ago(10+ years) . They used CO2 and N2O intercooler sprayers. They did help bring down intake Temps and helped increase hp. I can't remember the amount but it wasn't a large amount. I want say similar gains to methanol injection. But these sort of sprayers froze the area around it. Windshield washer fluid will not bring Temps down like those
I used to run it on my high compression big cube small. Block but once I had short block rebuilt we notice one my cly wall look like it had a checker board pattern on it can you give me an answer why. Thanks

So I have an na rx7 and i always run 93 octane gas and run a more aggressive timing than stock, with meth could i have an even more aggressive timing or does meth only help with heat/detination?
Depending on your ratio you might be looking at 105 to 115 octane
Save ur self money and use blue winter windshield washing fluid and if need to top it off with denatured alcohol to save money instead of buying expensive mixtures and snow performance all the way and deff recommended there 3/8 hd pumps don’t go with 1/4in unless ur under 500hp

i spray 100% methanol and i dont really use it for cooling, i use it for fuel system
my lt4 fuel system is maxed at 600whp on 93 pump gas and cant handle e85 at all without methanol, with the methanol it boosts my octane enough to take the load off of my fuel system and it allows me to run e50.went from being fuel system limited at 600hp to 700hp with meth only still on 93 just because of the added timing and fuel system load taken off and 770 with the e50 combined.(e50 would be impossible without the meth for me too)

I just put a centri on my car. The gas around me sucks so the car is pulling timing. Meth will help me. As far as the car does any body have any ideas how to prevent this?

@@MPHammer hey bud yeah.. the baasics of it is this.. water and meth are hygroscopic,, so they mix.. so thats all good..but you have a problem your car has a balance of air to fuel.. depending on the car the cars been "tuned" for the mix of air to fuel which comes out of your gas tank.... you come along and set up some kind of spray WM into your intake stream somewhere but the car has already computed "exactly" how much gas to inject into your cylinders.. you come along and dump "more" "WM mix Fuel" into you cylinders but the cpu hasnt read it.. so now your running rich...the car starts bogging down.. no good.... what a lot of guys do is... take away the meth.. and just spray water onto the outside of the intercooler,, this keeps the temps down a little more and doesnt affect the air fuel ratio.. and it works great..... but.... if your going to go the WM route you need to computerise it so the engine reads it as being a part of the fuel... otherwise you dont know what you gonna get... thats why tonnes of guys have those systems that throw it in based on it boost levels..... at the end of the day it is meth your fucking with and yes it can and does catch on fire and burn invisible.. so be careful man...have an extingusier handy

Nothing wrong with that dalton a really good one is the BG Products part number 890 you can get it by the barrel and is dirt cheap and works really well almost on par with snows stuff.

So Water Meth, it’s best for states that don’t have E85 to there availability. Differences between E85& water meth is that E85 will fuck your fuel lines and injectors up(that’s why people clean them all the time) also water meth is more available and cheap! Windshield wiper fluid is water meth it’s literally $1-$3 for the big bottles

Does methanol injection give you more pump anxiety having to refill at special stations and keep stocked up on it?
I'm specifically interested in whether methanol injection on a gas car would make interstate or long road trips incredibly inconvient trying to find 2 types of gas the whole way.

But gels, in Wisconsin, you have window washer fluid that can take those temps. Window washer fluid is the same stuff.

@@lukasrobinson1026 A fail safe for water/meth is often a sensor in the tank that gives out a signal when it's almost empty. You can wire this to your electronic boost controller, so that it limits boost when you are out of water/meth.
If you are doing a pull and suddenly run out you can easily destroy your engine.

JDM HAWTBOI it’s water vapor which is compressible unlike water in its normal form
JDM HAWTBOI The vapor also turns to steam very very quickly once in the combustion chamber. the steam cleans everything like the video mentions. Corrosion and hydro-locking aren't really concerns. the latter is only a concern if you put on a cheap nozzle.
