Without a tune you won't see any gains in terms of power because the ECU will vary the boost pressure to target the same load/torque, so lower amount of boost is needed to make the same power because of the denser air.
@@MihaiRece I disagree , I ran ots mhd stage 2 + tune on my FBO n55 435i 93 oct then added AEM kit and then adding boost juice and changing from 93oct to 95 oct for a little more timing adjustment and that car probably gained 30whp . Even wedge tuning told me after seeing my logs that my setup wouldn’t gain more than 20whp on a custom tune . That car is dialed in perfectly that way

How much more boost were you able to run? That's the big question. Video kind of gives the impression that a meth kit will net huge gains. But if your turbo is already almost maxed you will only see smaller gains from being able to run a little more timing and the cooling effect.

This is like HGTV of tuning. Where are the air fuel ratios??? And is that tune static if so you’ll have to make sure you have the meth blend at all times

Should really have done OTS map vs Custom map then Custom vs Custom and Meth. In theory the meth could be doing nothing and its all in the custom tune (I doubt it is) but you can't be certain when changing multiple things at once.
Methanol/water without a tune reduces power as it delays initial flame development and flame front speed. It needs additional ignition advance before any gains are attainable.
Be good to know what the boost & timing was doing, not sure whether those turbos are close to max but the custom tune first & then the wmi would've been good
That's Awesome.... what happens if it runs dry in the middle of a push ? If you've run empty and can't get a bottle to refill for some stupid reason, I assume you have to remember to keep the car out of the range that's tuned for the methanol?
The W/M injection system they are using is switchable. Meaning you can turn it on and off. Also most tuning devices allow for multiple tunes to be saved so you can have one with and one without
Hopefully the tune is programmed to lower the power when knock happens, it depends on how good the tuner and ECU is. My non BMW car fills in more fuel in multiple steps to cool the engine. If that does not help the ignition is adjusted in multiple steps. If that also fails the boost is lowered in multiple steps. This was possible on a stock ECU 25 years ago, so if the tuner does not take advantage of those settings it is pure laziness or recklessness.

Water-methanol injection mostly adds steam pressure (water) and a small amount of fuel (methanol) all the while allowing more boost on regular gas as the steam cools EGTs and prevents knocking.
I made 502hp 602tq to the ground on mike Botti base flex fuel map on stock turbo.. no pure or meth. Just tune MST intake down pipe flex fuel kit and E-50

The peak power and torque isn't important., but the shape of the curves are. They should be as smooth as possible and the useable power and torque range should be as broad as possible. Sometimes it's adviseable to reduce peak horse power or torque to achieve that.
I'm on a full bolts on MHD stage 2 plus, xHP stage 3 on a 2015 335i. About to pull a trigger on a meth kit (via my VRSF charge pipe connection) and am wondering about the right tuner for my MHD platform. Are you guys recommending any specific people? Anyone I should keep away from? Thanks.

I don’t understand how it was decided to start spraying at 12 lbs and going full at 15 lbs. I guess if the system is just used for fueling and not cooling?
The nozzle size has an effect. Basically the car can stumble if it gets too much too soon, it’s liquid. Water/meth tends to works best when it has a phase change due to heat, higher boost equals more heat.
Depends on how often you hit your meth injection points. To give you an idea, took me about 2 months to go through the 3 gal stealth tank in this vid. I’d say i went on a spirited drive everyday of that two months. My injection points are 10psi (start) and 15psi (full injection).
I love the way they tuned it and you sended them the logs and everything 👌💪 now that is some really great service! Only problem is i have an Audi and not a BMW 🤦 so don't know if it is still possible to do something like this?
what? i thought they advertised as 51/49. did you use an ethanol hydrometer by chance? that would put off the readings as methanol has a different density

I kinda thought the same, i have a friend who has done 560 on stock turbos all he has done is decat downpipes, and full titanium exhaust system and air induction kit everything else is pretty much stock so its a bit confusing As brian said hes got pure stage 2 turbos with the countless mods bit weird to be honest and would like to know more
every 2-3 rides depending on size of tank, mine has 3L, wish could be bigger but I can live with that. Basically every time I am putting fuel I am adding WMI juice too in 60/40 water proportion. Mine M2 N55 2017 does 586hp

It was tuned. Methanol increases octane. Octane is the resistance to detonation. It's all in the tune , not the methyl.

it's amazing what timing can do to an engine. I was able to put down 860whp in my F150. 93 and 100 methanol. ( twin M15 nozzles)
I would have liked to see you do a dyno with just the boost juice added without the tune to see what, if any gains from boost juice alone.
Same, this isn't really apples to apples, but I'm also not really sure that's even possible. But people make huge gains just going custom from OTS.

without a tune, it will cool your charge but it displaces air and will likely decrease power by itself

Water methanol is cheaper than premium - you can buy a 55 gallon drum of 50% methanol windshield fluid for $200

yeah, youre totally right. the same with having to deal with lower quality fuel, you have to be timid about it

e85 is basically 85% ethanol which alone gives you loads of cooling. adding wmi to an e85 vehicle doesn´t give you as many gains as on pump gas

Aren’t those numbers kind of low considering aftermarket turbos ? You can achieve 575-600whp on stock turbos with meth and E85

Why dose the first run the dyno sheet show 102 mph and the last one only like 95 mph?
Mexico is my preferred dyno as well. It's way cheaper there.

just tested boost juice with hydrometer yesterday. its not 50/50, comes out just over 33% methanol. adding a yellow heet bottle bumps it to 37%
