Devvon Bro honestly sometimes i dont even need any information in particular but i still keep watching your content just for the positivity you deliver 😀🔥 keep up the good work mate🙏🏻✊🏻
I wasn’t one that liked school, but I can sit and watch these videos for hours and take note comfortably. At some point in life, I either need a edit from you or show you what I’ve learned from you
Respect King. Appreciate the level of service that you're providing to the people. The knowledge, the patience and most importantly the pace of the explanations. I've learned so much from watching you. Peace and blessings to you brother.
You’ve stepped these up crazy. Good shit dude, even though I don’t really need to watch I still rewatch your videos like once every 6 months just to make sure I’m staying sharp!
Devon... you are truly a good human being. You're helping so many people with your channel - for free. You channel is better than so much content out there you gotta pay for... appreciate you so much brother! I wish you a great 2022 :)
Now the real question is…How did Bruce Swedien control MJs vocals and instruments without using compression at all. You give a very clear and awesome example on how to control sound sources with compression. We all struggle with compression…it’s always cool to listen to others ideas on how they use it. Thanks for sharing bro 🙏🏿
Dude, you’re a great teacher, I’ve been binging your videos , and subbed but you teach this stuff and make it palatable and easy to understand, thanks brotha.
heyy ty for these videos!! i have a question. i always record on a 2 track beat but should i record using a compressor and should i mix vocals the same way as how anybody actually mixing their own instrumental do it or do i have to have a certain vocal preset for a 2 track
I’m not a big fan of teaching compression this way, as it only explains how the car works. Yet doesn’t teach you how to drive it. What was left out is to understanding that compression increases the frequency density of a sound, it creates front back movement, and can be used to place sounds deeper or more forward in the 3D sound field. Every decision we make should be based on solidifying the imaging of a chosen sound and it’s specific placement in the 3D sound field. Also understanding low level, mid band and high level peak compression is a big component.
