    How can we get Jordan Peterson to look at the historicity of the Bible?
    If he could take a look at all the evidence for the historical reliability of the scriptures,
    I think he'd start to take a different perspective and have some very interesting things to say about it.

    Of course the statement ‘The Bible is comedy’ is nonsense. It may have comedy in it but it is very largely made up of history, myth, poetry, histoire raisonne, mytho-history, etc. the fact that it has a happy ending for some does not make it comedy.

    • @thairh-wisan
      @thairh-wisan 2 года назад +4

      Jordan meant "comedy" not in the sense of something funny, but in the much older sense used in ancient Greece and Rome. In those days a Comedy was the opposite of a Tragedy, so all he means is that the story has a happy ending.
      Though it is pretty funny to listen to this clip and pretend he's just riffing on the bible =P

    As your fan, let me disagree with you on Christianity. It is threatening to its followers. Compare Hinduism that actually talks of rewards and guidance

    • @yahya2925
      @yahya2925 2 года назад

      Hinduism has no set rules or beliefs which one must adhere to which, as you see today in India, is why such a large portion of the population has survived with poor hygiene, disunity, and ancient rape culture along with severe, severe misogyny (I don't use that term often as I believe both men and women have their different aspects). Islam is honestly the best balance between the two.

    • @thegiggity03
      @thegiggity03 2 года назад +3

      Hinduism, Christianity and Buddhism all basically say the same message. And all can be misinterpreted by taking its words literally. It’s all symbolism and between the events and miracles the message is the same. The “rewards” given by living by the rules or “guidance” but all three say that if you only live by its guidance to benefit from the rewards then it’s the same as when you give to someone in need and boast about it. It becomes disingenuous therefore invalid. Which is why people are always on the search for the “correct or superior” religion. When people focus on the what u can personally benefit from a religion then the message gets lost and causes internal turmoil which gets manifested in our physical world as hate, not being able to accept other people and live to one up another. “The pathway to hell is paved with good intentions”.
