DAL vs VGK Game 3: Mavrik Bourque is recalled! Stars need more out of Roope Hintz and Keys in Vegas!

- The Dallas Stars head to Vegas for Game three against the Vegas Golden Knights trailing in the series two game to none. With injuries to Radek Faksa and Mason Marchment game two, the Stars have recalled recent AHL MVP Mavrik Bourque. Bourque had 77 points in 71 games this season with Texas, and could potentially be in the lineup tonight. Joey begins the episode going through the possible line combinations if Bourque is in the lineup, and why he would have Bourque play over Evgenii Dadonov, Ty Dellandrea or even Sam Steel. The Stars have a chance to flex their depth and Bourque can provide more than what you will most likely get out of your fourth line components. In the next segment, we discuss who will have a big moment for the Stars. They have lacked execution in crucial parts of the first two games and Joey looks at Roope Hintz to be that player. Without a point in the first two games. The Stars must have Hintz be an impact if they want to get past Vegas and beyond. In the final segment, we have just two keys for the Stars playing on the road tonight in game three. Score first and which player will surprise us and have a huge night. Dellandrea scored twice in game four a year ago to keep the series alive, who will provide that spark for Dallas tonight to get them back in the series.

I agree. Stars, more often than not, try to make that last pass when the shot was available. Dadonov needs to not be playing. An injury replacement. That fourth line was rolling and you split them up?? I agree, they should not have been split up. Shots and move your feet. Well said.

Seriously. Hockey Psychology has some pretty good stuff on why the Stars system fails against Vegas.
There is definitely a coach difference in this series. Bruce has one hell of a record for the most part, and when you listen to him in interviews he gives so much detailed information of things that actually matter about a hockey game which makes me think he might be a hockey genius. Then I'll listen to DeBoer interviews and it's all about "we didn't play our game" and then gives some more generic excuses, then ends it with a "we got to stick to out game the next one." DeBoer seems to be better during regular seasons but who knows what his deal is.

Stars cannot continue to play the same way and expect a different result. They have the talent, but their strategy hasn't worked against VGK.
