Maverick Borque seemed like he was able to contribute defensively when he was brought up to play in a couple of games during the regular season.

Dueschene would have had more than 6 points in the playoffs if Deboer would have kept his line together with Seguin and Marchment.

Looking at the Oilers & Panthers series, it is very clear that The Stars went as far as they could. On multiple fronts, the Panthers are better, defensively, offensively, physically and in goal. Skinner is also still proving to be a better goalie than Oettinger during the present series, quicker and more alert and we know about the rest...

So much potential in this franchise. So many great players blooming and coming up through the farm team. We need more physicality and quicker playoff series wins.

I am huge Stars fan living in Pennsylvania. I was really disappointed in the Stars gutless performance in the entire series, other than Tanev. He is a mandatory sign!!

The Stars looked like they were out of gas ⛽️ in game 7 in my opinion. If they don’t get over the hump they’re gonna be looking at Pete Debore. I don’t think this season was his fault I think the blue line needs to be strengthened and they could use an another talented forward. Matt Duchene was great in the regular season.

One can't deny Peter's propensity for falling short of the ultimate prize. However, Peter was not why this team failed not even close. He's an outstanding coach and he's as good as you could have as a players coach as well. This team failed mainly due to it's lack of depth and talent on the blueline. Secondly, too many of their stars were not stars when it mattered most. Finally it became clear the older players lacked the stamina and play making ability to steady he ship and have an impact on the games specifically later in the post season. Everyone knows it's a gauntlet and a run truly for only the toughest and bravest souls to accomplish. Pavs, Suter, Benn and Duchesne just didn't have anything left to give and unfortunately 3 of those were among the teams top 6-8 forwards. They were on the top two lines and both PP units......not good and a recipe for failure in a deep run. They need to get bigger, tougher and more skilled on the blueline and they have to clear the deadwood to make room for players still in their prime. Too bad for Benn and Pavs as they had some great runs and just couldn't get it done. Time to revamp not rebuild and make another run. The core of this team is outstanding as it is so they just need to shore up the weaknesses and they'll be solid.

Absolutely, positively, The Stars can win the grand prize with Coach.

I hope the Stars took notes on what the Panthers did to the Oilers in Game 1 and will do for the rest of the series.

I will be disappointed if Suter is back on the team next year. Dude needs to just retire already. He was a liability out there and took 2 BAD penalties late in the Oilers series.

I think you need to do another segment without suter. His 3.65 is a killer when you need to either resign tanev, duchene , Steele, Harley and deal with Ty, a second goalie and Nils. The other thing is we need to get Miro to the left side sooner rather than later. If you buy suter out that allows you to slide Miro over and have Harley and esa on the left side. Then either sign tanev to a short term contract and go get another right dman like pesce or Roy. Either play nils which I doubt pdb will or trade him and find another 6th dman. Maybe use Lian on the left side and allow Miro to stay on the right for one more year and let lian develop. Maybe and this is a big maybe you sign hakanpaa for a year and small amount but I really do not like what he has to offer other than size. I think as you said having basically 4 dman play a majority of the minutes in the playoffs and petro and suter out there to for a few was a disaster. Nil messed up this past summer and didn’t address the right side. He kept hakanpaa which he proved to a be a dumpster fire in the Seattle and Vegas series. Then kept nils who pdb doesn’t trust. So buy suter out use that $ to find two right dmen and sign Harley to a bridge deal. No on zadorov since he is left handed and is a redundant body size that we have in lian. Plus he will cost too much and ties up many years of Miro, Harley and Lian’s being on the left. Carrier is too small and we need a bit more grit and size.

Can’t win a Stanley cup playing 5 defenseman. Not sure if any of you noticed but they didn’t even play Suter and Petrovic for the entire 3rd period of game 6. They only have 4 defenseman they trust and one of them is a free agent.

I think they need size and speed in their next personnel additions to their roster. Joe Pavelski probably should retire from the NHL he’s 39 years old. How old is Jamie Benn?? The blue line still needs to be strengthened in my opinion. They’ll probably be in the market for a defenseman and a forward. Benn was the only guy showing any physicality the whole year.
