I was thinking of painting, using the watercolor ground on an object like shoes, backpack, wood or glass. What would you like to see and what should I paint? I would love to hear from you!
I'm amazed watching the deer just come to life! The entire picture is beautiful! I would love to see you paint a picture on a pair of shoes. Fantastic work❤️👍
I don't paint myself but watching your videos is almost as satisfying as if I did. :) How would you protect painting like that from damage? I mean, notebooks get carried around and stuff...
Thank you! That is a great question, I forgot to mention this in the video, but I did put it in the description. I sprayed a Matte Finish which is water resistant on it, gave it a nice coat.
Thank you! I'm working on the one with shoe's, testing it out. I definitely need to do one on glass, any suggestions on what I should paint? I also have some asking me to test it on wood!
Wonderful use of the watercolor ground, love your deer! I would advise fixing or varnishing it in some way, because the watercolor lifts very easily off the ground--great for fixing mistakes, not so great on a heavily used object. The DS literature I have says "We suggest spraying with a high quality, Archival Aerosol MSA Varnish with UVLS to protect your painting." I don't have any recommendations, I've only played around with wc ground a bit, but I know it can be a bit fragile. When I use it on paper, I use a sponge pouncer to eliminate the brushstroke texture from a stiff, brush, but the texture of the sketchbook looks perfect. I'd definitely like to see some more experiments, I got the transparent version of the ground, and would love some inspiration. (Ed. note--I didn't see your reply to another commenter about how your protected your painting, so please ignore :) I hope your and your family are doing well and have fully recovered from your covid experience.
Everart thank you so much for the advice it is very appreciated! I did use a varnish on it but forgot to film that part because I did it outside. I will look into the varnish you talked about!! I will keep playing around with it, anything in particular you would like to see me try it on?

Really cool! I think if you put watercolor on shoes, you'd need to seal it very well. I'd love to see how this works on glass!
