This movie always puts a tear in my eye. That ending scene, as they walk past each other always makes me feels that sensation of almost remembering something.
at th e very end they weren't really trying to play it cool, but you have to remember that they remember nothing after the comet hit, not their names not their faces, but just a feeling. and that's what this film is all about. at it's core, this film is about the empty need of something, you don't know what it is, but youi're always looking for what it is. the Entire film doesn't have to be exactly true, but it helps to emphasize the feeling that there's something out there that you want and need but you don't know what it is. but you see someone from across the room and it just clicks. something just clicks. you know that this is what you've been looking for and it reaches it's peak at the end of the film. they don't know each other anymore, they don't know the significance of the comet, all they know is that there's this feeling they have and when they finally meet each other at the end, no magic, no body swapping, they know they're the ones they've been looking for.
Not underrated lmao. Ranking high in anime list. 1 of the highest grossing anime movie & Japanese film of all time. Got a lot of nominations & awards, more than 10 times!. Then its a must watch suggestion for anime movie in almost every anime reactors.
yeah, i've also been commenting that to people on reaction videos who cannot fathom how Taki could forget Mitsuha's name in like seconds, when that literally happens after you wake up from most of your dreams. They fade and you struggle to remember even the most vivid details.
IMO this is Makoto Shinkai's best film. Love the style and animation. The story is incredible as well and the time jump twist was done very well. The reason why the "I love you" message didn't disappear was because in Japanese folklore, messages of love are eternal or something like that. And I cry a lot during this movie.
Omg! You're the first ones I've seen mention Ranma ½! One of my favorite series, and super important to my life's trajectory! Was rewatching it, on and off, for decades before I understood why it was so significant to me! 💓
The "Your Name" movie is always a pleasure to rewatch. You never want it to end! Fun Fact: Okudera-san, the woman Taki first crushed on, is seen wearing a wedding ring in the end. The Director of the film, Makoto Shinkai, said in an Interview that she married Taki's friend Tsukasa, the one who went on the trip with them. They bonded on the trip, and then things bloomed from there.
Next, I highly recommend you also watch "Weathering with You" and "Suzume" if you love Makoto Shinkai's style of films! He created them after his work on "Your Name", and they are stunning!
When I encountered this movie, I walked away from it saying, "I'm not a cinephile, like the type who gushes over Citizen Kane or anything, but I think this is the most beautiful thing I've ever watched." I didn't even think twice about putting it at the top of my favorites list, dislodging Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Also, I learned the awkward way that gushing about this movie sometimes requires you to be careful what you say. It's really a strange turn in a conversation if you say without preamble, "I was up late last night googling your name."
This will never get old for me. Always will be my fave anime movie of all time in terms of the story, characters, animationans even the OST 🥰 i also love watching new reactions of it. Like you, I prefer the original Japanese version as i don't mind reading subs ☺️
Try another anime film called "Weathering with You" from 2019 - its not quite as powerful as "Your Name," but it's equally beautiful and emotionally engaging, and has a 92% positive on Rotten Tomatoes. "Your Name" ranks higher for me personally, but as one reviewer said, "Weathering with You's' biggest problem is simply that it followed "Your Name." Bottom line - if you liked this one, you'll find plenty to enjoy in Weathering with You.
Yes please! _Weathering with You_ (Tenki no ko) is the next movie from Makoto Shinkai, the director of _Your Name_ . It's wonderful. He also has another movie out, _Suzume_ , don't know anything about it
Not gonna even sugar-coat it. Your Name. is one of the greatest films ever made. ❤ Period.
Lol
?
Wouldn’t go that far.
@@lalalarose8197For an anime movie it’s freaking good
Lol no

This movie is the epitome of “the mind may forget but the heart will always remember”

そうです!日本では名前や顔は覚えてないが愛はどれだけ時間が経とうと必ず覚えているという言い伝えがあります。おそらくタキがみつはの手にi love you と書いたのはそのためでしょう。
Glad to see this movie getting some love! As you can tell from my profile pic i absolutely love it. Truly an underrated movie

"Love's not about playing it cool. So put yourself out there. Take a risk." Brilliantly said.
I think you are the first reactors that realize they can't quite remember because it's like a dream to them.

Amazing reaction !
You are one of the rare reactors who got all the plot right away !
Very nice congrats ;-)
Glad to see daughter and mother enjoying anime together

Such a great movie!
If you havent seen it yet, you should check out the series 'Your lie in April'. So beautiful too.🙂
always great to see films like this attention
Only Yesterday is another incredible, very sweet Japanese animated film!
Director confirms that Taki and Mitsuha get married.
People who react to this usually react to 'Silent Voice' also.
This is my second favorite movie with the first being A Silent Voice.
I always break at the point when mitsuha looks at her hand and it says "I love you"🥹😭
This is one of the best anime ever, but now I see Suzume that is a clear piece of story of Japan, suggest to you in a future :)
The creator confirmed they did get married.
Didn't know you watched anime. Since you watched this, you should watch Silent Voice next if you haven't already.
Yes please, more First Take and Ado

This movie is amazing ❤
Please watch howls moving castle ❤
freaky friday meets lake house
Whos your editor? This is the weirdest cut I seen on RUclips for Your Name.
It’s a great movie, also you should try to watch Demon Slayer.
Now watch A Silent Voice and join the debate on which is better
🖤💚
React to shigatsu wa kimi no uso 🤧😥😢😥
I really enjoyed your comments and reaction. You should try "A silent voice".

Suzume is coming to or is out on Crunchyroll.
次は「進撃の巨人」で顎が外れるリアクションが見たいです。
