I’ve been using the keyboard with gateron jade switches for a while now and it’s amazing. Next step for a kb upgrade should be an aluminum case. I love the product just as much as the community as well.
I preordered my 80HE a month ago :3
its incredible. I have been using it for 2 months for me it is the best kb in terms of raw performance.
It’s really well made for sure
Great review Kris! Never tried HE board, but maybe there will be in a future
It’s life changing for sure, can’t see myself going back to a regular mech
@@OhItsKris Yeah, that's completely understandable
Awesome review pal 😁
Thank you Jimmy!
I still haven't jumped on the trend yet either, I think I main reason for me though is competitive games feels extremely stale right now so I've only been playing Kovaaks and singleplayer games. My daily driver keyboard is also over $1000 so it's hard for me to justify replacing it. I'd still like to maybe upgrade eventually, but I'm also perfectly happy with sitting back and watching the tech develop further and look at new implementations.
That’s 100% understandable. I mostly play comp games so the choice for me was a nobrainer
what kind of keyboard is over 1k lol
this is my thought process i have a really quite keyboard and i mostly play singular player games and even when i do play competitive shooters im never good at them nor do i want to improve in any game since my friends dont play competitive shooters anymore so there just no reason to buy this keyboard when there main selling feature is the rapid trigger and i just wouldnt use the feature to its best.
@@sabbledabble a custom build
idk but its definitely custom.
Nice review Kris!
Thank you!
i just order the 80 version..cant wait for this
I was too impatient 🫢
@@OhItsKris i have the ducky mini ... i miss my arrow keys :D now ill have em back
I feel like akkogear’s mod007, or the polar65 are great options too.
Polar65 is 100% a great keyboard
I got a wooting 60he+ with white keycaps (i thinked the case would be white too if i got it) i think its a great keyboard. i had to kinda like learn how to use it and learn how it works but after i learned it i could see i got better. by the way you have to press your keycaps extra hard for it to properly get stuck in. i think the "im not a professional speed writer at all and my typing would make your grandma seem like the flash" 2:25 was Really funny.
Thank you! I really appreciate it!
I've heard there's a difference in RT implementation between this and other HE keyboards. Is that true? Is there a difference in key press and release latency?
This is the first time I’m hearing about that tbh
I’ll check it out and I’ll to find out more about it. Thank you
Some boards do not make a distinction between first actuation and later re-activation distance in the press. that means that if you don't want a super short actuation your actuation point sort of floats around the switch and isn't consistent. this is not a good implimentation (EGG K65) is an example. However The wooting does it right (though it's not the only one) by making individial sliders for initial and re-actuation distance in rapid trigger. The Wooting software is what keeps it ahead right now, though others are closing in. Right now as a 60HE user I wouldn't upgrade for anything, but if I had to use my money to buy something I would only be considering the Keychron Q1 HE or the Wooting 80HE or 60HE+. Lot of people are content with getting a "budget hall effect" (oh wow this keyboard is half the price of the wooting with a better build and rapid trigger, but neglect to mention the lackluster software and lack of other useful hall effect features or full customization). Wooting and Keychron also use custom PCBA which generally seem to have much better base latency than a lot of the OEM PCBs that a lot of the more budget hall effect boards have just slapped in an aluminum case. Software is paramount for hall effect boards and right now only Keychron and Wooting have apps that I would be satisfied with completely.
@@paleopasha I just preordered the 80HE! Currently using an ATK68, which prioritizes key release when smart speed is turned on. Key press is actually faster with smart speed off so I’m definitely excited for the 80HE
80% arriving in Aug I waited for a year
It looks super sick
Why is your spacebar upside down :(
beautiful thumbnail :D
I learned from the best 😎
WOOTING IS THE BEST!
They sure are!
Yippie
🥳
there are now enough alternatives that deliver better build quality than wooting if we are honest.
New things are coming out this year that are apparently as good if not better. We shall see
@@OhItsKris That is the way of things. Someone starts and others copy or improve the design and the idea!
@@Lawandfun and we all benefit.
