Let’s be real here. Many men use and abuse their wives, tearing them down emotionally and mentally (sometimes physically). He pushed her to have four children even though though it almost killed her. He cheated, he lied, and felt entitled to control her even after he moved on with someone else. We all have limits. Treat others the way you want to be treated. If he had done that, he’d still be alive. Oh well, another selfish cruel asshole bites the dust.

The young lady Dan married pretty much dug her own grave when she started messing around with a married man with 4 children. Dan used Betty's body like a children's factory and wasn't very pleased with her decision to actually do something else than just having children. He also used her as a training buddy during his college years to help him pass his exams. He used her confidence in him to go out and build his business. He used her good taste to finely decorate his offices. He used her motherly skills to raise children that didn't become thugs or drug addicts. Basically he sucked a lot out of her and she had no reason to believe that would one day collapse. He and the kids were her main support system. It seems her parents were rather critical most of the time. Dan really took everything from her quite happily so. She had absolutely no more support system. Once I was told: "never enter into a fight with someone that has absolutely nothing to lose". Dan took everything that made her a balanced person, so she became that person that found herself having nothing more to lose. You never know what you are capable of until someone pushes you so far that you snap like never before. Think you know yourself? Well you don't, really.

That's my whole thing. Of course she didnt feel ant remorse. He didnt feel any remorse when he gas lighted her. Dan was an ungrateful man. He completely forgot his humble beginnings when at that time Betty was the one making all the sacrifices. Its normal for people to fall out of love at some stage but at least he could have treated Betty with some respect in the midst of the divorce. Cmon she's the mother of your kids. I’m reading the book “Until the Twelth of Never” and what Dan and Linda did to Betty would have driven any woman mad. He abused his power as a prominent attorney to do whatever it took to push Betty to the limit where she saw no other way to end her suffering. She was fighting a losing battle constantly, the whole legal system was on his side. I’m sorry they died but they were an evil couple.
I am reading the book as well and I can’t believe that he got away with all the stuff he did in court. She was a normal, caring, loving mother and wife before meeting Linda. He was a monster. What they did to her was appalling. Dan and Linda dig up their own graves. I have zero sympathy for them.

Part of the problem was that she refused to move on with her life. Her identity was a stay-at-home mother and devoted wife. Dan took that part of her identity away from her so her world came crashing down.
THE PAROLE BOARD should not look for remorse. They are telling her 'she must' rewrite history of what occurred during this divorce process. Betty righteously is not bending and good for her. You don't have remorse for killing two people who were doing the same to you daily striking at you mentally, physically, emotionally, socially,, financially and spiritually for four years. The difference is Betty got right to the point whereby Dan and Linda 'hide' under the false sense of decency whereby in reality they were the culprits in this whole scenario.

Those two pushed Betty to an end anyone could see coming. And Linda was as guilty as Dan. She wanted a married man who had lots of money and she didn't care who she hurt to get it. She certainly didn't want the kids who had no meaning to her And I don't even think Dan wanted them. He just wanted a younger, sexier wife, as most cheaters do. I only feel sorry for Betty, and maybe the kids, who Dan used as pawns against Betty. An altogether nasty man. Betty should finally be released - she served her time.

I wish she'd been able to get medical help and onto some sort of medication to stabilize her and maybe she could have worked through it and found happiness again. Looking at "Dirty John ", it made me sympathize with how she felt. Eventhough I wouldn't of killed nobody but I can see why she did it. She was selfish and totally focused on him and his life and didn't think about her kids and the outcome of her actions.

But understand that there are many things that we as humans do to one another to cause pain, suffering and damage that is beyond repair. Dan nor Linda were saints. I believe with every fiber of my being that Dan was an egotistical, manipulative, narcissist. I believe deep down he was insecure as well. To cheat on someone you have been with for over a decade and lie to them about it for years seeing the hurt in their eyes as they ask you over and over again and still sleep good at night is cold hearted. Then to cold turkey end the relationship by admitting to the affair finally and then on top of that move in with the mistress immediately just increases the level of cold hearted behavior. Again all while seeing you are hurting someone deeply 💔. Not just any someone but your ride or die. The person that had your back no matter what and made sure you made it to the top and sacrificed so much of themselves to make sure you were on top and live out your dreams. That shit is low down!!!! It hurts like a death! This woman sacrificed her own dreams for this man. I know damn well she wanted othee things in life but put her wants and need aside for her family like most women do and any of y'all on here pretending you don't understand that can go on and keep being fake and pretending you don't get it. She had every right to be bitter and angry. Every right. He gaslighted her and withheld money and the children. What did he expect to happen? To live happily ever after? This case has always intrigued me since I first saw the Meredith Baxter Lifetime movie with my Mom. Certainly it’s very tragic and the children suffered worse than anyone in my opinion. I never understood why Dan couldn’t just be amicable with the divorce and make things easier for his children. He always said all Betty cared about was money but clearly that’s all he cared about. Any opportunity to pay less whether it was what was best for his children or the mother of his children. He didn’t seem to care about anyone’s happiness but his own. Betty was put in a very unique and unfair situation. To call the divorce anything less than psychological warfare would be a gross understatement. I will never condone the fact that Betty committed a double murder. It’s a crime that didn’t have to happen. But given the amount of loss and manipulation coupled with the psychological and emotional turmoil Betty suffered I think Dan signed his own death certificate. I’m not saying Dan and Linda deserved to die but they certainly didn’t do anything to help Betty with the transition of her life being turned upside down. I think about those 4 children who now are grown and have children of their own. I can only hope they all got the support and help they needed to carry on as best any child can. I’d like to see Betty paroled to live out the short amount of her life left but I don’t think she will ever be released.
Dan may have been horrible, we don't really know because all we have is her truth. We have no idea what really happened. There is no excuse to kill two people because you were mistreater (if she even was). People reported that Dan was a good father and husband, and no one saw what she said happened. There is always three sides to every story, his, hers and the truth. We only know her story. She also shows absolutely no remorse. That says a lot and that she still needs intensive therapy.
i saw a clip with the oldest daughter and she said "people come up to me and say 'i relate to your mother because of what your father did to her' and they obviously haven't been listening cause my father never did half the stuff my mother says he did." i'm gonna go with the daughter on this one since she actually lived under the same roof and knows more about what went down between those 2 than so many amateur sleuths out there.

To all the people criticizing her and siding with Dan. Read “Until the Twelfth of Never,” by Bella Stumbo. It gives a deeper perspective and details not shown in the Netflix series. He is even worst than he is portrayed in the series.
In my opinion, I think they got what they deserved. They treated Betty like a dog. No matter where she turned she was denied anything. He would not even let her see her children under supervision. Anybody that gets treated like that is bound to break and break she did. If she had even a small chance of the equalization of their divorce, I don't think she would have killed them.

There are people like Betty, most of them are in jail. They do not want to live life on life terms. There is medication and counseling for them, if they sought it. Had to help them because they never can see their wrongdoing or unreasonable thinking.

It’s fascinating to me how many people still see Betty as a victim and feel she was justified in killing two people. Everything I’ve seen and read about this case tells me that yes, Dan and Linda were assholes. That being said, Betty still didn’t have the right to take their lives. Sorry, but she’s where she should be. I’ve seen her interviewed, and she has no remorse. She says, “I’m sorry for this whole thing”, but she has never specifically said she’s sorry for taking two lives or taken ownership, at least in the interviews I’ve seen.

It’s kind of a testament to Betty that she was forever fighting for fairness and truth to the bitter end regarding her divorce and custody and she still chooses not to lie about being remorseful so she can get out of jail. I think she is consistently honest with what she did and how Dan made her feel and I think she did have a plan to kill herself in front of them - so they could have blood on their hands, their happy marital home to be marred by her suicide and the children might blame the dad for provoking her into suicide thereby causing a rift. When they woke up rather than her waking them up I think triggered her to react quickly and shoot them rather than herself. I bet she had plans on what she was going to say to them and would probably have held them at gunpoint whilst she said it. When they woke up and immediately tried to get to the phone she had to stop them and shot them. Ripping the phone and taking it away was probably a likely act of the final feeling of control that she wanted as Dan was always ringing up his lawyer, the police and anyone who would listen in order to get Betty to tow the line. I think she should be let out of jail - she served her sentence and isn’t a danger to anyone other than Dan and Linda and what’s more is that she deserves to have the last art of her life free and happy which is ultimately what she should have always had.

Let’s be real here. Many men use and abuse their wives, tearing them down emotionally and mentally (sometimes physically). He pushed her to have four children even though though it almost killed her. He also used her as a training buddy during his college years to help him pass his exams. He used her confidence in him to go out and build his business. He used her good taste to finely decorate his offices. He used her motherly skills to raise children that didn't become thugs or drug addicts. Basically he sucked a lot out of her and she had no reason to believe that would one day collapse. He and the kids were her main support system. It seems her parents were rather critical most of the time. Dan really took everything from her quite happily so. She had absolutely no more support system. Once I was told: "never enter into a fight with someone that has absolutely nothing to lose". Dan took everything that made her a balanced person, so she became that person that found herself having nothing more to lose. You never know what you are capable of until someone pushes you so far that you snap like never before. Think you know yourself? Well you don't, really.

That's my whole thing. Of course she didnt feel ant remorse. He didnt feel any remorse when he gas lighted her. And the women who clearly knew she was intervening in a marriage also had no consideration or concern. What she did was wrong and she didnt handle it right, but I dont think she was crazy or insane. She was fighting a losing battle constantly, the whole legal system was on his side. I’m sorry they died but they were an evil couple.

But understand that there are many things that we as humans do to one another to cause pain, suffering and damage that is beyond repair. Dan nor Linda were saints. I believe with every fiber of my being that Dan was an egotistical, manipulative, narcissist. I believe deep down he was insecure as well. To cheat on someone you have been with for over a decade and lie to them about it for years seeing the hurt in their eyes as they ask you over and over again and still sleep good at night is cold hearted. Then to cold turkey end the relationship by admitting to the affair finally and then on top of that move in with the mistress immediately just increases the level of cold hearted behavior. Again all while seeing you are hurting someone deeply 💔. Not just any someone but your ride or die. This case has always intrigued me since I first saw the Meredith Baxter Lifetime movie with my Mom. Certainly it’s very tragic and the children suffered worse than anyone in my opinion. I never understood why Dan couldn’t just be amicable with the divorce and make things easier for his children. He always said all Betty cared about was money but clearly that’s all he cared about. Any opportunity to pay less whether it was what was best for his children or the mother of his children. He didn’t seem to care about anyone’s happiness but his own. Betty was put in a very unique and unfair situation. To call the divorce anything less than psychological warfare would be a gross understatement. I will never condone the fact that Betty committed a double murder. It’s a crime that didn’t have to happen. But given the amount of loss and manipulation coupled with the psychological and emotional turmoil Betty suffered I think Dan signed his own death certificate. I’m not saying Dan and Linda deserved to die but they certainly didn’t do anything to help Betty with the transition of her life being turned upside down. I think about those 4 children who now are grown and have children of their own. I can only hope they all got the support and help they needed to carry on as best any child can. I’d like to see Betty paroled to live out the short amount of her life left but I don’t think she will ever be released.
Dan may have been horrible, we don't really know because all we have is her truth. We have no idea what really happened. There is no excuse to kill two people because you were mistreater (if she even was). People reported that Dan was a good father and husband, and no one saw what she said happened. There is always three sides to every story, his, hers and the truth. We only know her story. She also shows absolutely no remorse. That says a lot and that she still needs intensive therapy.

To all the people criticizing her and siding with Dan. Read “Until the Twelfth of Never,” by Bella Stumbo. It gives a deeper perspective and details not shown in the Netflix series. He is even worst than he is portrayed in the series.
In my opinion, I think they got what they deserved. They treated Betty like a dog. No matter where she turned she was denied anything. He would not even let her see her children under supervision. Anybody that gets treated like that is bound to break and break she did. If she had even a small chance of the equalization of their divorce, I don't think she would have killed them.

Look at the two yahoos they interviewed for this story. An old man who said "people don't know the facts". What makes him think he did. Did he walk in her shoes all those early years? Betty went thru hell with her x and his new wife. The new wife walked into a gold mine that the hard work of another woman (Betty) worked for. DB was vicious to his x-wife thus in the long run his children too yet they can't see it.

And he "should of" just given her half of everything. Then she would have had the means to move on. She had put him first and had no career--because she put him through school. Gave him a great home and kids. If he had just been fair about the assets, and if he had not black listed her with any decent divorce attorney within 100 miles, he would probably still be alive. Unless he and his secretary made a last-minute conversion, we know where they are. Money won't help them there. I hope that Betty has made her peace with God.

There are people like Betty, most of them are in jail. They do not want to live life on life terms. There is medication and counseling for them, if they sought it. Had to help them because they never can see their wrongdoing or unreasonable thinking.

The law was very much against Betty due to Dirty Dan's position within the legal world. Betty certainly put a stop to that - once and for all.

Not an excuse for murder, but the couple seemed like bad people too. The justice system took sides well before this murder happened. But it’s corrupt LA so no a shocker on that. It’s fascinating to me how many people still see Betty as a victim and feel she was justified in killing two people. Everything I’ve seen and read about this case tells me that yes, Dan and Linda were assholes. That being said, Betty still didn’t have the right to take their lives. Sorry, but she’s where she should be. I’ve seen her interviewed, and she has no remorse. She says, “I’m sorry for this whole thing”, but she has never specifically said she’s sorry for taking two lives or taken ownership, at least in the interviews I’ve seen.
You as well as the parole board want Betty to lie and rewrite history. As she said she's sorry the whole thing happened and that her husband 'chose' to treat her so badly and destroy the family they once had. She's not about to cave on what the truth is in this case. DB/LK were awful people to be so vicious to her.

It’s kind of a testament to Betty that she was forever fighting for fairness and truth to the bitter end regarding her divorce and custody and she still chooses not to lie about being remorseful so she can get out of jail. I think she is consistently honest with what she did and how Dan made her feel and I think she did have a plan to kill herself in front of them - so they could have blood on their hands, their happy marital home to be marred by her suicide and the children might blame the dad for provoking her into suicide thereby causing a rift. When they woke up rather than her waking them up I think triggered her to react quickly and shoot them rather than herself. I bet she had plans on what she was going to say to them and would probably have held them at gunpoint whilst she said it. When they woke up and immediately tried to get to the phone she had to stop them and shot them. Ripping the phone and taking it away was probably a likely act of the final feeling of control that she wanted as Dan was always ringing up his lawyer, the police and anyone who would listen in order to get Betty to tow the line. I think she should be let out of jail - she served her sentence and isn’t a danger to anyone other than Dan and Linda and what’s more is that she deserves to have the last art of her life free and happy which is ultimately what she should have always had.
I don’t feel sorry for neither Dan was a liar and a cheat and Linda was seeing a married man I know it’s no excuse what Betty did but she was tired of Dans narcissistic ways

There is no excuse for what she did, but I do understand why it might have been tough for her to move on. When you are already mentally delicate and your whole family and friends turn their back, it was obvious she was going to snap.
Nor are the facts shown here all true. How come they're not talking about how evil the so called husband and his new wife were. How they drove her purposely to insanity. They were both evil and conniving and tore this woman's entire life to shreds again purposely. The movie doesn't even show how cruel and evil they were. She killed them physically and they killed her emotionally and mentally. Especially the husband. Let her out and allow her to get the therapy she needs from the abuse she endured.
