It's time for another Quick Eurorack Tip !
Today our pal Wes is taking a brief look at some Sync Wave Sounds. A unique way to get some excellent timbres out of your oscillators, Sync techniques are super accessible and easy to patch in a modular environment.
Here wes uses two Intelllijel Dixie 2+ oscillators to make some gnarly sounds with a little modulation.

Great demo! Crystallizes the joys of modular-endless variation and exploration. Love it.
Best description of sync I've seen so far. Nice one!
That was super sick! My favorite waves are tasty waves.
me trying to sound cultured about this: Ah, an incredibly useful and versatile feature in sound design. A unique flavor to dial into all sorts of sonic contexts for a charmingly analogue edge. Surely, no decade nor subgenre of synth music would be the same without oscillator sync.

Sync enables exponential fm to remain pitch stable!
Best demo ever... what a stud full information.
I just patched this, but through a hydrasynth using your video. I used the step lfo instead of a sequencer to change the pitch of the oscillator sending sync instead of the host . It made the sound so great on the low end !!! I put poly aftertouch to a 3p lp filter and velocity to the filter envelope sustain. It's soo sick, thanks! Definitely enjoy the sync from a square to a saw. I think I used a sin lfo . I've tried sync with saws and sins but I think square is most dramatic. I used the sub oscillator with a sync-lav wave picked up to create a subtle harmonic to glue it together.
Heck yes! this is what it's all about! so glad to hear you jumped off and found your own way to something sick!
incredible demo love it teach me moreee!!!!THank Youuuu
I love how Wes calls the Delta-V an LFO and Maths an envelope when they are both essentially DUSG clones. Incidentally, it's a great illustration of how the Delta-V saves you so much space compared with Maths. Also, this is a helpful video.
Thanks for the vid! your explanation was great. Helped me get some sounds out of my pittsburgh sv-1 i didnt know it was capable of :----)
Liked and subscribed .
I’ll be coming back to this one
Can you explain the last part where you take the sub from osc1 into the cutoff also? Does the filter have multiple fm inputs?
Pretty sure it’s synced not sunk, anyway love this guy, very charming and good info
Umm actually it's not "sunch" it's "syncrolated"
Darn I knew something was wrong about that 🤔
@@PerfectCircuit "actually you spelled that wrong, it's not sunk, it's sunch" better? let's workshop this joke. it's gonna make us both rich and famous.
*syncthesized ...fixed that for you.
That was so sick, I already threw up.
Just kidding -- I like your video. You did kinda overuse the word "sick," though...
