  • One of the things I haven't seen a lot of with the ASM hydrasynth is it's ability to interface with external modular synthy things.
Here, I'm using the now discontinued Moog werkstatt but you could use any modular/semi-modular synth and achieve a similar result.
And with all modular thingies, experimentation is the key!
I'm sure I'll be exploring more of these concepts with this synth and the subharmonicon in future vids...
Thanks for being a part of this journey with me, everyone that enjoys these vids and the stuff I make is so so so special to me!

Hi dude - great vid! Is it possible to use the cv/gate inputs to rhythmically gate a held chord on the hydra? I would like to be able to send a chord via midi to the hydra and use the gate input to trigger the amp or filter envelopes to create interesting rhythms from the held chord. Thanks

Nice to see others do this synth combo, cool routing it back again like that. Was concidering to buy the Keystep 37 to control my Werkstatt etc, but recently found a Hydrasynth Explorer second hand and went for that instead - so happy i did! You're right though, the Explorer sadly does not have the two mod inputs, but all the outputs are there which means i can now play the Werkstatt with both aftertouch and modwheel (Keystep make you choose either or, which is why i was looking for alternatives) - and control it with macros! - and then combine it with the insane power of the Hydrasynth sound engine :) A really great way to get more out of the Werkstatt. I love them both, but the combo is super!

Glad you enjoyed this one! Using the HS with modular stuff is super fun🤘I’m working on releasing a sound bank that has some patches that use macro knobs to control various modular stuff.

I keep looking for just 1 video to show how to setup and use CV between my Hydrasynth Deluxe and my MPC Live 2. I know very little about CV so I'm lost as to how to set it up but I bought patch cables.

I don’t have an MPC live2 or I’d be more than happy to make that vid. I’d say take some time noodling around until you get it (or close) and make that vid yrself for other peeps that have the same problem! (That’s what I do lolz!) good luck fam🤘
