- UCLA is stepping up security around a pro-Palestinian protest encampment that has taken over a large campus plaza for four days, university officials announced after minor scuffles broke out involving demonstrators and pro-Israel demonstrators on Sunday. KTLA's Lauren Lyster reports. April 29, 2024.

I presume these idiots demanding to "divest" have already given up on their iPhones and MacBooks. After all, Apple's second largest R&D center is in Israel, and there are two or three (if I'm not mistaken) more centers there. Buying iPhones they are (in part, of course) actively investing into Israel's economy. Isn't that ironic? They really should walk the walk and start divesting with themselves before demanding it from others.
If you see their divestment list, it is for weapons and equipment used to tear down housing, among the like. Very different

What's more effective, holding a months long protest on your campus, or using your fairly rare and time-limited opportunity to attend a prestigious university to study hard to become a future leader who can avoid all the problems with the current leadership you're protesting?
Student protests are not brave, they're a ridiculous waste of resources that could be better used towards actual world peace rather than just a bunch of bandaids.

What does Title 9 do? Place holds on financial aid and scholarships. Are they in classes? If not they are violating their contract with Title 9 and not using or misusing scholarships. I would further block aid uf they are creating a antisemitic environment. It's called bullying.
